On the subject of doing tattoos...

...when you´re younger and especially tattoos celebrating your idols and so on, this fun clip is just so good;=) And what we learn from this? Well, be careful with what you tattoo;=)

Here´s the translation:
Pia had been really careful to choose her tattoo that she knew deep in her heart she still would appreciate when she turned 70 years old.

  3. Ahah! I love it!
Maybe you don't remember but I have tattoos for you and NW! The very first one is Ghost Love Score in 3 differents parts of my body, so it more "mysterious" for people to read words here and then :) I got it after I saw you on stage singing it. It has always been my favourite song, but with you... WOW! So yes this tattoo is for you :)
And the other one is a bow at the end of my back, with few symbols in it for each thing really important to me : my family, my mother, my cat (yes I have him since I'm 5 years old), my cousin and NW!
I know I'll never regret my NW tattoos even of one day I dont like it anymore or whathever. Cause anyway, its been a big part of my life, Nw made me dream, travel, meet wonderful people and Know YOU!

Ill post a photos later, cause Im at work now :)

And you, what do you think about people like me who got tattoos for their idols? Even if for me its more a passion than idol :)

    Love and HUGS!

  4. Haha, I used to think about getting half sleeves done on each arm (one Iron Maiden sleeve, and one Judas Priest sleeve), but my Dad and uncle talked me out of that (I was saying this when I was 15), or rather my Dad is pretty anti-tattoos, he's especially anti-tattoo when it comes to women getting tattoos, so that put me off big time.

Can't say I have any idea as to whether I'll do a symbol or not at any point, but I have decided if I every have children I will get tattoos on their names and dates of birth :)

Must admit I could possibly consider something might talk to some close friends about maybe doing something to remind me of managing to survive 18 months of depression, but that's only a very vague passing thought atm.

Have a lovely day Anette xo

P.S. A poster I design of you for one of my design classes is going to be hung up for a local design exhibition in my home town ;)

  9. Hi =).
Haha, doing tattoos is complicated, because when we are young we just like things that when we grow old we just think "gosh, this is a bullshit", that's why I think we must stop and reflex about what we really want to not regret some years after.
When I decided to do my tattoos I've chosen a thing that I love the most and will love til the day I die: Japan. And 2 years have passed and I'm still in love with her and want to tattoo more things, but all of them mean something very special and strong to my heart.

    Love, Carol

  11. Hahahaha! I love it! Thanks!

    Hello! ;-)

When i will have money for doing tattoos, i will assemble in the only one what I like : books, music and cinéma (Shoulder). For the second, i will try to redo one of my father : an anchor (Inside of the front arm). And I'm fascinated by snakes. Small, without bones but mortal for humans! (Inside of the wrist)

    Have a nice day!

  13. Haha, that's fun:) I was thinking about making a tattoo one day, but these were nothing more than thoughts:) I think if you make a tattoo, it should mean really a lot for you, and now I don't think I have something so meaningful to picture it on my body. And sometimes it looks so stupid when people make tattooes because it's "cool" and picture some "wise" sayings or hieroglyphs and don't even know what they mean:) Hope you understood me, heh:)

  14. Hi Anette! Well done, this is a truthful message. Otherwise it can happen some people think everyone should tattoo Her/himself: this is not ok.
About your stage name, I was quite surprised to read you are considering a change=) Well it could be a nice idea to keep only ANETTE since i guess the name is not currently in use by any other artist;=) And also this is a solo career this time and ANETTE would sound pretty fine. In fact, TARJA is TARJA in the logo and not Tarja Turunen and she's been doing her solo career for years. But as many of us say, who knows you since 2007 knows you by the name Anette Olzon and it has a 'familiar sound', you know. Is Olzon a real surname used there in Sweden or was the "Z" just your own idea?

About the 'headbang' thing: are me and you the only ones who think a girl should not do it? And am I the only one who thinks that this is not good also for a guy?;=) What's the difference?

Oh, how we are looking forward to follow your performance next week! And remember to be yourself and all's gonna be fine!

    1. I've always called Anette just Anette anyway. The Olzon (and Olsson too) has just been at the back of my mind as more formal.

I think it's OKAY for girls (and guys) to headbang, but certainly not necessary. It just seems like a weird peer pressure thing, like, because it's metal, they HAVE to do it. It's just kind of UNoriginal.

Anette's own ways of feeling the beat of the song have been much more entertaining and expressive, even if a little goofy sometimes. ;)

    1. I love your tattoos! Seeing the three part of the Ghost Love Score tattoo at that angle is really cool. I completely understand that Anette's performance of that song is inspiring enough to get it immortalized. I only heard it on video, but in person must have been so amazing!

I think I remember Anette saying she will use that lighter voice more in her own songs, so for that I am excited! I may get to hear it in person after all!

  16. Okay, "Anette" sounds fine and also I read that you like it a lot and you'd go for it;=)

After all, it's not "metal" anymore!

p.s. Are you going to update your site about the upcoming performance? Are you already building a new one?

  17. well, depends too how big or how many colors the tattoo has, i want a few ones, but obviously small ones, like Sabine says, just a few lyrics from a song, but im still in love with the nightingale on your back!!

i remember an interview to Ozzy O. that he always has been telling Kelly ''you will regret if you made a tattoo, look at me, i dont know what i was thinking on when i tattooed''

good morning by the way! :)

  18. Tatoos sound awesome, but the process of getting it...If I ever wanted one it would probably be something Nihhtwish related or a cat. I think it would be awesome to get cat whiskers but that would look really...wired...Anyway, have a great day Anette:)

  19. I'm the person who loves tattoos, but I think when someone gets one, it must mean something.
I have only one tattoo on my back and it's a sentence "Soulmates never die" (It's a lyric from Placebo song but I didin't even know it xD) and it means lots to me, I won't explain it right now, maybe next time ;)
And I'm sure it's ok to do this - but it must be something really special what isn't funny or embarrasing two years later ;)

  20. Ha ha, that´s a good one!
But I thought very long about gettint tattooed. I know, I´m young and everything, and HIM proved in the past that they can change their musical style, but I love them for their lyrics and so my beloved tattooed Heartagram won´t do any harm. I hope... Even if I start to dislike HIM, the Heartagram will always as well stand for the contrasts in life, Life and Death, Love and Hate and everything, and for a time in my life that was very, very hard and that I somehow still managed to survive, it reminds me that even in my darkest time something inside me wanted to live on.
But this cartoon is so great xD I really had to laugh ;-)

I like all your tattoos, especially the one on your arm let's say..It is amazing! Only that angel tattoo I don't really like. It isn't for my taste, I don't know.. But if you are happy with all your tattoos, then I am happy, too. ;)

  22. I don't have any tattoo's Anette and I'm never going to get any. I've got nothing against other people having them but they've never really been my cup of tea :-)

Here in the UK I recently watched a tv programme about a guy who had separated from his wife and then he developed an obsession with Miley Cirus. He began by getting a small tattoo to express his fondness of her. He then became obsessed with tattoo's and now his whole body is covered with Miley Cirus tattoo's.

On a different note ( excuse the pun )yesterday I viewed your videos of you singing with the orchestra and you sounded great! :-) You can sing really well Anette! :-) You are the voice of never never land! :-) Lol! Sorry, couldn't resist that! :-)

Your demos are really good also! :-) Floating has a nice swedish ambience! :-)

    Have a nice evening! :-)

  23. Hi! Oh, I think you are right, that's why I don't want to do any tattoos now:-) i'm afraid that I can dislike tattoo in the future, and I now I don't know what I want to have on my skin during all my life. I think, it's a hard decision to take:-)
I have never been a fan of tattoos, maybe becouse my parents are against it (as many, many parents). And I have never thought that it's something I want to do. I realy don't like big tattoos, but when I saw you little treble clef (not sure if it's a right translation:-) on your back I was like "oooh, that's beautiful". I also like a heart on your hand. So cute:-)
And my father has a little scar on his chest. In my childhood I thought it was a painting like rainbow or something else, but when I grown up I asked him, why he has that one? And he told me that when he was maybe 18-20 years old, he made a tattoo. But then he decided that he don't want to have it anymore. And he took it away. But he still don't want to tell me, what the tattoo it was. I realy interested, becouse he was such a "bad boy" haha:-)
So, maybe some years later i'll do a tattoo, but very small:-) we'll see:-)

  24. Haha :D that's true. I couldn't decide what my tattoo will look like for years but I knew that it has to be connected to music since I've been playing piano and singing since I was just a kid. And the music is one of the rare things in my life that I can't get enough of :D And now I'm a music teacher with a tattoo. Actually, it was inspired by one of your tattoos :D Here's the pic of my tattoo. it was taken right after so the skin looks a bit bad.

  28. I have a tattoo of Rammstein's logo, but it wasn't because they were my "idols", it was more that the band was a HUGE part of my teen years, and as difficult and emotional (and all that stuff that happens during those years), as much as I hated it at times, I wanted the tattoo to be a reminder for me about those years the band got me through.

Those years are part of me, I got through them, and even though I really don't listen to the band anymore, I still love the tattoo because it's sort of a mark of me becoming an adult and moving on, while still remembering how I got here. :)

I think all tattoos, regardless of whether they're of an idol or other interest, should be immortal. It can't be something that means nothing if you don't like the thing anymore. Tattoos should transcend, in some way or another, the time period that they were made.

That, or mean almost nothing and just be very beautiful and something that looks good on your body. ;)

  29. Harrawrson; Hi and yes, all tattoos need to be something you know you can stand for in your whole life. So choosing them carefully is essential;=)

Britt: Hi! My first ones were the little G-clef I have on my shoulder;=)

Rebakah; Hi! that is a nice song, yes=)

Gabriel; Yeah, it hurts a bit at times but for me, the pain is one of the things I like about having tattoos;=) No pain no gain, right? =)

Krisjnik: Hi and wow, I like it;=) Great choice and great placement;=)

Daria; Hi! Very wise of you to wait and I didn't do my first one until I was 30 years old so I kinda knew I wouldnt regret it=) and all of my tattoos are something special to me, they have a special meaning and a memory so when I am older I know I will still love them for being that - memories and part of my life=)

Tom: Hi! Oh, hmmm... that guy sounded a bit fanatic to me! I think I would be a bit stressed to know someone had tattoos of my all over their body;=) and thanks, I hope you´ll like the other songs too;=)

Taaja: Hi! I love my angel tattoo since it´s the arch angel Gabriel, and I love angels;=) I like all my tattoos but my left arm and the angel are my favorites for their meanings;=)

Betty; Hi! Yeah, HIM is a great band;=)

Rainy; Hi! I think, for me, a tattoo needs to mean something for you and be something that is you, in a way. If I am gonna wear it on my body my whole life I need to know it has a special meaning and also I want all my tattoos to be original, not copying anyone and that´s the best thing with my tattoos;=)

Rivka: Hi! the pain isn't bad at all. so that won't be a problem for you;=) Eat chocolate while getting it, that helps agains the pain;=)

Domenik; Hi! Yeah, like Ozzy says, if you do them when you are young you might regret them and therefore I advice to wait until you´re a bit older;=)

Poochie: Hi! the site will be updated when the solo album is on its way. Until that, it will be as it is;=)

Océane;: Hi! I had seen the GLS one, but not the bow;=) Love them both!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Poochie; Haha, yeah, I have always thought the head banging thing is manly and well, I don't like it in female singers;=) I even think some men shouldnt do it either,=) But well, I guess I am just a simple "pop singer" who doesn't know better;=) haha! Take care!

Julia: Exaclty what I mean! Don't do a tattoo if you are not certain about it cause then you might be one of those who go and take it away with the very painful laser;=( So, better to wait until the moment when you just KNOW what you want to have=)

Elinie: Hi! yeah, I thought it was a great one;=)

Laetitianne: Snakes????? oh, no!!! haha! I hate snakes;=)

Sarah:; Hi! Exactly as for me, they all mean something for ME=)

Carol: Hi and yeah, exactly what I mean. Better wait until your really sure and maybe a bit older and wiser before doing it;=)

DarkQueen; Hi! I did my first at the age of 30 so I waited long=)

James: Hi! And you will be a one of the special ones who doesnt have one, when everyone else does;=) Time has changed and earlier it was the tattooed person who was the special one;=) Now everyone has a tattoo, almost;=)

Sabine; Hi! yeah your children's name are a good choice;=)

Beto. Hi! I agree! Let everyone look and have what they want, respect differences;=)

Meghan: Hi! and wow, so nice with the exhibition! Great job!
And well, tattoos need to be carefully thought of, I think. And considering what kind of job you want to have and so on;=)

Océane: Thanks for doing the tattoos after hearing me sing GLS;=) Its a great song with lots of emotion in it;=) And I think doing tattoos of or for your idols are ok, as long as you don't regret them=)

Isa: Hi! I like the thing for your tattoo=) And the one I have in my shoulder is a wonderful one with a great placement;=)

    Enny; Hi! Yeah, it is,=)

    4. Hi!;=) I totally agree with you. I have a dislike for head banging especially when it comes for female singers. Bah! If a singer needs to be a pop singer to skip it, I wish all the singers in the world were all pop singers. And I hate when people have the wrong idea that I am a head banger myself just because I like metal/rock bands. Amazing job that you Anette have always been yourself even singing metal- today you can enjoy your neck -and have always said what's your vision about this matter!

    5. Oh no, headbanging is the best there is xD Nah, just kidding, I don´t like singers banging their heads, neither male nor female. But fans banging their heads are great. Male and female ^^
Although headbanging is the most stupid idea there is, right after violent dancing and our great Wall of Death ^^
