Second day

Hi all!

Today I did the second day in my little school journey here in Nynäshamn and today I met 5 classes of ninth graders;=)

They were all so very nice and listened really carefully and asked a lot of really good questions. I really appreciate when I get a communication with the ones I talk too and today everyone has been really good at doing that!

So thanks to all students and teachers who met me today;=)

Here´s some of the super nice girls I met today:

After we finished in the afternoon we drove down to the beautiful harbour in Nynäshamn and sat in the sun, ate smoked shrimps and do I need to say that it was incredibly good? Yummie!

Tomorrow I end my round of meeting students here and I must say I have learned so much from this experience and who knows - I might do something like this again;=)

Enjoy your evening!

  2. Hi Anette !
You see, everything went great as i told you before :D

And yes, you should continue to do that, but in different countries like Turkey.

By the way, do you have any pain with your ribs anymore ? i'd like to get more information about it (:

    Take care of yourself.

  3. Hi, Anette,

We have an embedded fear of the unknown. In addition to that, we are beeing tought that we should only trust people if they earn it somehow. This is good if you don't want to let your child talk to strangers while going to school, but in a longer run, it creates what you (and I, and many others) feel when we need to interact with strangers.

Moreover, it is known in psychology that one of our biggest fears (sometimes bigger that the fear of death) concerns our image. We have a natural inclination to think that we are under attack, and that our image will suffer, therefore we tend to defend it.

The right thing to do in these circumstances is to remember that we deserve to be loved - now! - as we are, and that we do not need to prove or demonstrate anything, or do something specific in order to acquire such worthiness. We need to remember that our intrinsic value creates our image, and NOT the other way around.

I appreciate your actions and thoughts concerning the teen agers in schools! I am sure these teenagers will remember you in a more than favourable light!

I wish you all the best!
    Alex!

  4. Wow Anette, I'm so happy for you that everything went good. If you're ever back in Switzerland you must visit my students. They are pretty much younger (now I teach 3&4 graders and after the summer break 1-3 graders), but they would be really excited to meet you ;-)

    Greetings
    Sarah

  7. Hi Anette,

Thank you so much for keeping us up the date about what you do and what is going on <3

You do really a good job and I wish I was one of those students over there.

I have been bullied a lot, first when I was around 8 years old and when I changed the school it was over. When I went to secondary school I have been bullied for 3 years because they do not like the way I was wearing those days *skater pants/gothic dresses* luckily I visit a tourism school now, and they except me the way I am *but I do not wear them anymore, I know combine things that I like^^*

You are a big role model Anette

    <3

Love and hugs from the Netherlands

  13. I have been reading your blog daily for several months now, Anette. I'm Swedish as well, but I write some parts in English so that everyone will understand.

After reading the full interview with you in Sweden Rock earlier this year I felt that I understood you better as a person, I could also relate to many parts of it.
Now on the topic of bullying...

(Back to English) While it's a bit embarrassing, I'll get straight to the second point of this comment. If you decide to visit more schools to tell your story before the 16th of June this year, I'd be the happiest teenager in Sweden if you would visit us in Västerås. Bullying haven't been a huge problem in recent years, but I believe it would make people start thinking, you are also one of the persons who inspire me in life, but that might sound like a selfish reason...

But of course, time might be a problem, I'm in 9th grade now, we quit school on the 16th of June, in only two months, and move on to a gymnasium. You also have the recording of Imaginarium with Nightwish, and two children to take care of!

Still, thank you, Anette, I'm hoping that you can take your time to reply somehow, I am waiting until then!

  14. You seem to be having a really great time Anette!

I have a real fear of talking in front of people too, I just think that I will mess up what I am saying and people will be rude and laugh at me. If I have to read anything out my voice shakes and I get really sweaty palms. However, by doing this you really seem to be conquering your fear of talking in front of people, which is really great to see, =).

Enjoy the rest of your time there, the food looks yummy! Take care,
    Jasmine

  15. Hi Anette. :)

I'm glad to hear that everything went well at the schools. I think it's really awesome that you're doing this-speaking about your experiences and such to the students. As I've said before, you're truly a wonderful person. :)

I hope tomorrow goes just as well as today went!

    Best wishes

    Lauren

And a sidenote: I LOVE your outfit. ;)

  16. Hi Anette!
I knew you would do great!! Definitely agree about talking in front of people, especially younger ones. But you have such a great personality and sharing your life is priceless. I bet these kids will never forget this experience. Hopefully it will help any of them going through a rough time.
    You Rock!!!
    The shrimp looks delicious...
    Take care!!

  18. Dear Anette,

I think that what you do is wonderful. I am a teenager as well and I know how much confidence it gives me to hear that succesful people have passed through the same things that I did. I wish I was one of those teenagers that you visited. I bet they were really happy to see you there.

Thank you for posting these things. They are really helpful.
