Great!
ReplyDeletethanks for this Anette. this really hit a note! It makes me realise that I am not alone....I have been bullied badly from an early age, and even though I have friends, I sometimes feel very alone in the world :( The song sounds quite angry, but it made me cry...non of my friends really care enough to stand up for me, and my parents dont know because I think they would feel really ashamed that their daughter isn't brave. they make me feel useless, ugly and stupid, and the worst thing is they do it for fun... I really dont know what to do :( oh well!! sorry for ranting!!
ReplyDeleteyou sound lovely in the song Anette, your voice brings it all together!
lots of love, Tilly xx
Oh! Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteI like the song very much,
and I appreciate the message it's sending.
Hugs and love, Katie T.
Tilly; I am so sorry to hear about how you feel. But as you say: you are not alone. Bullying and mocking each other is unfortunately so common today, even among adults. Still I can read that you do have friends and I hope they can give you their support against the ones that bully you. And never ever think that its anything wrong with you, cause that´s so wrong. Anyone can be the victim of bullying, since it has to do with the ones that bully and not you. One thing that can make you stronger is to know this and to know that many people who today are succesful within different areas in life have been bullied and that made them stronger and able of going their own way. Raise your head high, stand up for yourself and dont let them take away "you", cause you are a special person and soon you dont have to care about these people anymore. Many times the people who have been the bully feels much worse in the future about that, then the bullied. I send you hugs to give you strength and a lot of "shine" as I say, that can make you shine for who you are!
ReplyDelete@Anette: thanks for posting the link for listening the song. I went to the site but didn't listened the song - and i probably never listen to it. It's too hard for me, even now. Bullying and mocking, i know this since i'm a kid (it started at the age of 4/5 at school)... And don't think it stopped. About 2/3 weeks ago, i had something that made me feel proud of myself, and it's very rare. I'm one of the 10 finalist (amongst hundreds) in a poetry contest about a french singer named Chimène Badi. I've never been a finalist of any thing, and knowing that i've writen this little poem with my heart and soul, i was very proud. And i made the mistake to tell it to my mother, who ridiculed me... :'( This is only one example of the kind of thing i have almost every days. Hopefully i have my best friend and my therapist, without them it would be quite hard....
ReplyDelete@ Tilly. I feel really sorry for you. I know your feeling too much, it's awful. Please remember you also have friends. And when you feel too bad, think about them. Try to hold on the positive and left what your parents says. I know it's very hard to not listen to your parents (it took me Anette to realize that my mother wasn't right with what she says!), but it seems they don't know you. You could choose your friends but not your family, sadly... Anyway, i send you a big hug to help you a bit.
*hugs*
Steff
thank you Anette...that means so much :) i will try and do as you say, however hard it is ^^ i can honestly say that if people shine, you would have a blinding light :) thank you so much,
ReplyDeleteTilly xxxxxx
Hi Anette. I finally managed to hear the song in that website, I just didn't know where to push the Play button hehehe. The song is nice, but I wish I could've heard your voice 2 or 3 more times, but still you were beautifully amazing ^^
ReplyDelete@Tilly, it breaks my heart to read that. I only can say this: you're special, no matter what. First you need to take care of you, and then you'll have to know if those friends are really worthy of your love, because (in my opinion) a friend is someone who likes you for who you are and will stand by you everyday, because it's a bond that makes both of you family.
Anyway, you're NOT alone, you can post here everytime you want, okay? ;)
I'll share something that has happened to me these last days, I think it might make you feel better (and maybe I'll feel better too). In the month of July, I met a person just a little older than me and we "connected", that person told me "I like you, just don't think we'll be dating at once and immediately". So... we saw each other many times and had dinner and watched movies and it was great. I really thought I had found real love. In August, it was great too but also bad. Both of us were on vacation in different sides of the country, but we both kept calling and texting messages to each other. There was one day when that person told me 2 times: "I miss you". And that really made me think: "We're in love, it's real". But now in September, it has all changed. When we could see each other again, it was somehow different... and this last week that person hasn't even called, I can tell it's so different now... The thing is: I think that person may have found another better than me, and I'm just so sad these days, because I don't even know what to think. But what I'm doing to get by is a lot of reading, using my iPod (highest volume level), studying and everything else that makes my mind busy and not think about it. I've met love for the very first time this summer, and at first I liked it, but know all I can think is "what a fickle thing..."
Well, I hope it helped, it certainly did for me, now that I've told it to you ;)
Best wishes for all of you
César
I tried to read the article with my not-so-brilliant-swedish-skills :D but I did understand some of it.
ReplyDeleteI was bullied in elementary school and for a child as that little it was really traumatic. Well, it wasn't so bad as it gets for some children but I still would have prefered if they hadn't bullied me. And I can't undestand why particularly I was bullied.
It was very tough for me since my "main teaser" lived in my neighbour :( so I couldn't go outdoors to play because I was scared that the teaser would see me and then would bully me next day in school.
Well, now I live in another town and as I got older I got self-confidence and if I see my teasers again, I pull myself straight and just walk pass them. :)
So I'm really glad that you have taken part to this project :) I think no-one should get bullied!
I subtitled the video: http://youtu.be/SC0h0rZFlxY

ReplyDeleteJag kom att tänka på att du gillar skulls, så jag tänkte jag skulle dela med mig av länken =)
This is a really great thing to be involved with Anette! A lot of people listen to heavy music for catharsis and to feel more powerful and it is great musicians are there to say they've been through hard times themselves, and look where they are today! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's also important for people to realise that bullies are unhappy and insecure people too; otherwise they wouldn't have the urge to put people down to feel better.
I hope anyone who is going through this tries their best to surround themselves with people who want what's best for them, and give them positive energy and confidence - because it's harder to bully someone who is happy :)
Thank you so much Eilenna! ^^
ReplyDeleteDear Anette, this is such an important cause, thank you for caring. And the song is great! Take care, lots of hugs:)
ReplyDeleteHi Anette thanks for information
ReplyDeletejust a question: your project of creating a solo album is still news if so when?
Dearest Anette,
ReplyDeleteVery interesting sounding song, and it definitely possesses a very strong and important meaning. I am glad you were able to participate in such a good thing, and I certainly pray that it helps make a difference in this world. Some of the vocal styles were not entirely my type, but your voice voiced sounded beautiful as always and I could tell the other vocalists were talented, and the chorus was very nice.
Overall I am glad that it worked out for you :). Every good thing, small or large, means something.
All my best wishes and positive energy go to you.
Sincerely,
Alexstrasza
Song is not one of my favorites because I don’t like this way of singing (Talk about first part of song) bath lyric and goal are great. I adore your voice Anette, I adore Nightwish music before you become bend member, bath I adore it even more now. I can wait to hire new Nightwish songs. Kisses for all you in camp from Serbia

ReplyDeleteMetal Stars - bullying
Sweden United makes track for vulnerable children
In the 1980s the Swedish ..hårdrockseliten.. stretched out a hand to the needy worldwide.
Now meet some of the nation's leading metal stars - bullying.
Entertainment The blade can today reveal the super secret project Sweden United, a unique collaboration with members from, among others, Soilwork, Nightwish and Pain.
It all started with a news story whose content is unfortunately all too common.
In the autumn of 2008 read Thyselius Erik, 33, drummer for Scarpoint, if a primary school pupil has suffered severe abuse at school. One was the boy, who was in year three, been kicked in the head and consistently violated.
When young with music
The story is shocking enough,. But with Eric Thyselius was born in response. Putting together a project with some of the biggest profiles in the metal sphere - something not achieved since 1985 Swedish Metal Aid - with the goal of speaking directly to young people about bullying and harassment in schools.
- Many of those who listen to the groups are too young to go to concerts and the idea is to reach out to people they look up to sing about the subject, "he says.
One of them directly lit on the idea was 32-year-old Soilwork singer Björn "Speed" Strid.
- I have worked as teaching assistant and have seen what happens in our schools. It feels really good to put the foot down and speak their minds, "he says.
'Children can be nasty "
Ever Greys singer and guitarist Tom S Englund, 36, had already been touched on before the substance of their music on the album "Monday Morning Apocalypse", which was released four years ago.
- When we wrote the songs, I began to examine myself, both as bullies and as vulnerable. I found that the children can be very nasty and shit - simply because they do not understand the consequences of their actions.
Anette Olzon, 39, singer of the popular Finnish band Nightwish, was himself bullied while growing up and therefore never hesitated to participate in the project.
- I hope that what we do to show that anyone can become a victim and that it is not the mob was wrong.
Now waiting to get the message across to pupils in schools throughout Sweden. Scarpoint and its management has entered into a partnership with the Freeze House in Stockholm.
Hi Anette,
ReplyDeleteI agree with you against bullies. I was a loner in school and in college being a typical shy girl. I've always being good in science and in college they would make fun of me but when they needed my help in a class project or an exam course I was all of a sudden there friend. I am against people who make fun of others or try to ruin their lives. I am happy that you are part of this project against bullies. We should all be strong and stand up for ourselves and protect others at the same time.Sending bright blessings to you sister.
Hugs
Zulma
I think it is a really awesome project, I think everyone is bullied at some time in their life, when I was a child it happened to me a lot, and I am now an incredibly shy person and I blame it mostly on that and partially on genes. Luckily these days, people who should be quite judgemental of me at university are actually really supportive, mature and friendly. I don't normally make friends because I don't approach people but the other vocalists at uni have been wonderfully understanding of me and do their best to include me. I am very thankful for the positive people in my life at the moment, it is helping me to build my confidence, and I hope other people here who have experienced bullying, and are still experiencing it, find more positive people in their lives to help them through.
ReplyDeleteHello Anette!!
ReplyDeleteThank you soo much!!You are my hero!!
