Breaking dawn

Hi all and a very happy monday to you;=)

Yesterday me and Seth went to see the new Twilight movie - Breaking dawn.

I have read all the books and loved them but the movies havent impressed me at all so I mainly went to see this new one since Seth wanted to see it. And yeah, it wasnt so much for me, no.
They could have made the movie into one and shortened it drastically and skipped all the loving/kissing boring stuff the first hour. But if I were a teenage girl I would had loved it, of course;=)

So the movie was okeish for me, but I prefer the books. Have any of you seen it and what did you think?

Enjoy this day now!

  1. Went to see it with my daughter who is obsessed with the Twilight saga. And I think you are right that it's a film for teenage girls.=)
Myself, I thought it was predictable and quite boring. And I never was a big fan of sparkling vampires. ;)

  2. Haha, it's funny you say that, that's exactly what a critic in a newspaper wrote: "why 2 movies? The movie is a photo album"

You're very brave and a loving mother to accept seeing those ;)

    Good day!

  3. ||Well, I 've seen it too, and I didnt like it either. Its soundtracks seems corny and the direction of the movie seems too 90s.

    Big kiss!

  5. Hey Nettan!
For me all the Twilight story worked only for the first time. When I decided to read all the books again I realized that it impresses me no more. I think I just grew out of it;) True Blood now seems more appropriate for us 19-year-old cynics;))) And about the movies - few years ago I liked the first one because of the atmosphere, colors and music. It had a spirit, though the actors' work seemed quite weak for me. But all the other parts - it left nothing in my heart, so I just watched them and forgot. I think I'll watch the Breaking Down though I don't like the new fashion of making two movies out of one book just to get more money, as it happened with Harry Potter. You have to watch one film right after another to get the whole impression.
    Have a great day, darling!
    Hugs,
    Kira=)

  6. Hei :)
Yep, have seen it yesterday with my cousin. And I agree. It's ok, but not that good. But the 'imprint-scene' of Jake and Nessie... That was a good one, in my oppinion :)
And I prefer the books, too. Got my first Twilight book in 2006 and since then, I'm in love with this books. But, yeah, the movies are ok.

  9. Hi Anette!
Yesterday I went to the cinema with my sister and we watched Breaking Dawn too.
Well, the first three movies haven't impressed me but I think that Breaking Dawn is the best movie of the Twilight saga.
I have read the books too and I loved them, Breaking Dawn was my favorite, but sincerly I think that books are better than movies.
You are right: it's a movie for teenage girls, but I've enjoyed it ;)

    Have a nice day!!

  10. Even I read all the books. Of course they are most beautiful as the movie. I went to see the movie yesterday, like you and Seth ;) I think that the beginning was quite boring, because they skipped many things which are in the book. I liked the movie from the part where Edward hears the thoughts of the little one yet unborn. But I don't think the movie was very bad, I seen worse movies. hehe
However is nice that you have accompanied Seth to the cinema, since he wanted to see the movie ;)
    Have a nice day ;)

  13. i was also in the cinema yesterday!
i really enjoyed it,and to me it was pretty emotional ( and i am not a teenage girl :) )
i must say i also prefered the books, 'cause when i was reading the books, it was exciting all the time, and it was hard not to skip to the last page to finally relax knowing will everything turn out ok.
agreed they could've make it into one movie, but this franchize is mostly about their strong, at times destructive and possesive love, and less about the action and special effects, so if they cut out their moments which everybody loved in the books, i'm sure the fans and meyer herself wouldn't allow it...not to mention all the money they'll make with two, instead of one movie.
there will be some more action in the final part, everything will be around renesmee, as there is no more triangle :)

ok, enough of that, have you seen trailer for snowhite and the huntsman?
you have to, if you haven't already!
also looking forward to the hobbit movie, which is coming out in the end of 2012.

    bye dear :)

  14. Hello Anette, it has been ages since I last wrote here so I thought it was about time to leave a comment, :).

I went to see Breaking Dawn on Saturday. I thought it was good but not amazing; it was slow moving and predictable at times. I haven't read the books but if I had I think I would dislike the movie somewhat more! From what I have heard, the books are far better.

I also wanted to say, I love the Imaginaerum samples (cannot stop listening) and cannot wait for the album!

    Have a great evening,
    Jasmine

  16. Hi dear!!

The Twilight Saga is a very dificult topic hahaha, I don't know, I read the books and I liked them, are easy to read and romantic, but all the movies, except the first, I think are extremely long hahaha, and you have all reason Breaking Down is too long and I think a little boring and make a second part is only marketing; but ofcourse is a movie for teenagers and for fun .

    xoxo

  17. I haven't seen the movie yet and I'm not sure if I ever will (surely not at the cinema). I've never been so very obsessed with the saga but now I find it less than 'interesting'. Really.

Anyway this -> "all the loving/kissing boring stuff" is the best part of your rev ;)

    Take care
    G.

  18. Hej Anette!

Knus, kram og klem fra Danmark,

  20. Eyyoh..

  21. Hello Anette !!
Well,at least you had a cool family moment with Seth ^^
I only watched the first movie and in my opinion i wan't impressed because people act like if this movie was the best thing ever and that makes a reason to dislike it a little bit,i'm used to the old tradition of vampires :)
But I've heard that the books were very good my mother read them and she loved them !

  24. Hey Anette :)

I am teenage girl and I don't like Twillight saga. I don't like films and books either. I actually like vampires but not those "glowing vampires" and the story is boring to me. It's kinda stupid to me but thats only my opinion.

But I REALLY like Vampire Academy by R. Mead.. I'm on a 5th book now and I like it so much. These books have some action and also love parts. And this will sound stupit but I'm kinda in love with guardian Dimitri Belikov hahaha XD (not really in love, hope you would not have thought of something strange haha)

Here's my question for you: Have you read Vampire Academy and if you have, do you like it?

And btw. I've listened to Imaginaerum samples and I think this will be something BIG! :D can't wait ^^ And yeah, Storytime is now my favourite song and video is awesome!!

    I hope you'll answer my question. Have a great day! :) ♥

  27. hello anette!

well i have read all the books cuz i translated them to spanish, and make them audio-books, for a teacher daughter who is invident [can't see] so, it was so boring, its a lot of sex/love scenes, even im a 18 girl, but god too much sex for girls of 13-15 years,

and 2 days ago i see it on internet, and was gross & boring, but well thats what the audience wants, vampires werewolves & sex scenes, dont like it, and they obviously did 2 parts to copy harry potter, but they never going to break records like them........

i cried in all the HP movie!! was so emotive, :') maybe its stupid, but i suffered of ''Post-Potter Depretion''

    have a nice week sweetie
hugs & kisses for you & the kids!

  33. Hey Anette!

Mh, I think all Twilight-saga movies are really boring, "Edward" and "Bella" have bored faces all the time...they seem to be suffering, not loving each other...and the last film is sssssslllooooooowwwww :)

I only liked the first book, the whole history is too corny for me...I don't know, it doesn't means anything to me, I think it's just entertaining.

And...Books will always be better than movies :D love reading ;)

    Sleep well!!!

  34. Oh, forgot to say :) what I enyoyed was the soundtrack, isn't bad at all...what do you think?

    Take care!

  35. Hi :)
I don't like the Twilight Saga... I just think it is just too simple, boring and it has no story... My real gender of movies and book are Fantasy and non-romance (I really can't handle the 'I love you' everythime, hahaha) But I enjoy the soundtrack, it is made by a lot of good bands as Muse and Paramore (I like most Muse)

    Kisses!

  36. Well, I love the books and I'm 24 now but I really loved the movie. And the loving and kissing is what most of the books are all about so I would be disappointed if it wasn't in the movies ;) But I think it's really hard to make a movie based on a book. I always love the books more, also with the HP series.
