Helsinki
Good morning all!
So I arrived to Helsinki yesterday evening and I was shocked when we flew down through lots of snow falling from the sky! What happened? Did Father winter wake up a little late this year?
Luckily, today its plus degrees so the snow is almost gone again:-) do not like snow that much and want SUN:-)
When I arrived last night I met up with Jukka and Tuomas who were heading for some dinner and we had a really nice time. Ate a wonderful italian meal consisting of a soup with cream, parma ham and mushrooms. To that I ate a plate of carpaccio. Yummie! The soup was one of the best ones I have ever had.
After a nice long dinner we went to our rooms and I surfed for some time and finally fell asleep. Took some longer sleep this morning and are still walking around in my robe drinking coffee. I am heading out for a walk and some errands later before we're heading to our rehearsal place. I will take photos as usual but I still dont know how to get them into blogger through my Ipad so photos will be published when I get back home.
Enjoy this day now!

Hei :)
ReplyDeleteA little late, but a happy new year to you!
Wow, this sounds quite exciting, seems like you had fun with the guys :)
I have a question... since touring is really exhausting and stressful you don't get much sleep I think but what do you do to stay awake? Drink litres of coffee?
(Sorry, I'm just curios, I didn't had much sleep the last days and because of that I have a bad headache.)
Sooo, have fun in Helsinke and have a nice day!
xx Maren, Germany

Kramar!
Thanks Anette :-). Have a nice time in Hellsinki ! Huge Kiss for you ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Anette,
ReplyDeleteGood to hear that you arrived safe and having a nice time.
I investigated a bit and found something for you: http://blogpressapp.com/
Blogpress seems to resolve issues with publishing pics in Blogger. I do not use an Ipad myself but users recommend this app. Also, you can watch a short video on the link above which shows how to use the application. It seems to be quite straightforward.
I hope it helps! It would be wounderful to see pictures from you on the go. ;)
If you already tried this app, sorry for taking your time.
Have a great day! :)
Annette Good day, I'm glad that you arrived successfully. Why do not you love the snow - so beautiful and romantic. :)) The Italian cuisine is really delicious, but ... once you try our food from the Balkan Peninsula. Every guest of our country (Bulgaria) remained fascinated by the national cuisine - eeee how much patriotic I am:)) I always thought - stars, whatever you may want to travel and to walk unnoticed ... аnyway. Maybe you miss the warm embrace of your guys (I know that love home coziness), I am always anxious when my son and my husband is away from me.
ReplyDeleteSo I wish you successful rehearsals and many happy moments with the team of Nightwish.
We look forward to your next post. Many smiles and recently
Italian food is super and healthy!! nice choice ;)
ReplyDeleteHave fun! :D

Hi Anette
ReplyDeleteNo snow here, you are lucky. Infact it's +10 degrees still. So far this winter we had about an hour of snow, it was enough to get Ethan curious but not enough for him to experiment and play.
First year I actually want snow since I now work from home there is no need to drive everyday so no worry of having to drive in icy weather.
Hope you had a good trip say hi to the boys. Have fun time
Carol
Eating an italian meal in Helsinki is not like eating it in Italy! We are waiting for you all! Greetings from southern Italy!
ReplyDeleteHi Anette, Blogger has an app since September 2011 for iPhone and iPad that lets you post on the go, including pictures. Have you tried it? Have fun in Helsinki!
ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeletei found this pic, have you ever went across that bridge when you drove to denmark? it looks amazing.

Hi, other people have had the same problem with uploading pics from iPad to blogger, it seems. The link below directs you to some suggestions on how to solve that. Best luck. And enjoy your time in Helsinki. http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/blogger/thread?tid=09bfade7bdb26435&hl=en
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to disappoint you, but no sun for southern Finland. It's all rain and wind this winter. :( Honestly, there are less than ten sunny days for the past few months but it's been raining more than it has done in 50 years or so. Tomorrow it will storm like hell once again, they say wind will be 13 m/s and sleet and water... Ugh.
ReplyDeleteI'll come to Helsinki tomorrow too, to see the dentist. What a perfect day to have wisdom teeth surgery... :D
I hope you enjoy your stay nevertheless. :)
It's great that you are in Helsinki and you are safe :D!, have a nice time rehearsing!! good luck!
ReplyDeleteDear Anette...
ReplyDeleteHave a great time, happy rehearsals and greetings to the guys!!
The soup sounded delicious!Yummie!
Hugs from Athens!
Welcome to Helsinki! :)
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the name of the restaurant where you ate that dinnet?
I'm interested in because I love Italian food and that sounds very ymmmy! :D
Enjoy your time in Suomi!
Kram.
Hi Anette, I hope you had relaxing holidays! I have a question for you, but firstly I'd like to express my admiration at your performance on Imaginaerum. Your singing sounds effortless and simply magical, so versatile! You have really proved yourself as an integral part of the band. Your voice paints images and emotions.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I feel that your last concert at Hartwall arena in 2009 was the best. I was there and enjoyed every second; it had such an extraordinary feeling to it. I must admit that I cried at the end because I was so touched, (I even saw Tuomas' parents). I thank you for your genuineness - you really seem to have a heartfelt personality. Always be yourself proudlly!
So, finally the question. I heard that each of you band members got to choose three people for the poem of "Song of Myself". Can you tell who you chose & which parts they recite? I think I recognized quite a few persons, like Tuomas' parents, Ewo, Wilska, Plamen Dimov, Pip etc.
Best Wishes,
Sanna from Finland www.hurmiontytar.blogspot.com

ReplyDeleteHi Anette!
ReplyDeleteHope you will enjoy your stay in Helsinki. I love that town. Have you tried to download application 'blogger' from apple store? If I use it, I can upload photos from Ipod. If it works here, maybe it could work with Ipad.
Have a nice time,
Sofia Jana

And one more thing. I finally got my copy of Imaginaerum few days ago and the album is fantastic and I like it so much! Music, vocals, artwork - everything is just amazing!! So I want to thank the whole Nightwish band and everyone who took part in making of the album for your work!! Now waiting for the tour and movie:))
Hugs,

Oh Anette the more I read about you getting ready the more I anticipate the show! 16 more days to the Gibson Amphetheater show. 5 day's until Imaginearum is releaeased here! I bought mine from Finland so I got it December 5. I couldn't wait. Enjoy yourself! Maybe i'll see you shopping in LA!
ReplyDeleteRest calm and travel safe!
