Ok, my exercise this morning with Petra was hard...puh! Its the first time I have a PT and it gave me lots of new things to do in the forest. We power walked which is a lot about technique and since I usually run or just walk normal, it was very hard to get into it. When I walk fast I bend forward and that was wrong.
She said that I need to straighten up, pull the stomach in at the navel, put the arms close to the sides in the same height as when running, that is almost up by the chest. Then take big steps and put the heel down first and push forward and at the same time use the arms in a forward-going movement, like pulling a rope.
Very hard to describe it without a video;=)
We power-walked in the forest, both uphill, downhill, up and down stairs...we stopped doing exercises like lifting big branches of wood, doing push up, climbing the stairs doing big lunges with really high knees...puih...I almost puked at some time there;=) hehe!
But it felt really good and I feel that after doing the same exercising for long, my body needs to be a bit shaken and stired now and this is great to do.
On friday we are gonna meet in her studio and then we will do yoga exercises and pilates that I can do at home or at the hotels;=)

Wow, seems to be hard, but the things that are difficult that give results, you do well ;-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great evening and relax, you deserve =)
Hugs and best wishes from Brazil
Hey Anette!
ReplyDeleteWow, it sounds very exhausting but very good, too. Great, that it does you good...
Hugs and Love, hope you have a relaxing evening!
Yours, Kim-Noêmia
That sounds intereting, pretty hard though. But it is great to hear that this will be good for you.
ReplyDeleteMany hugs, have a very relaxing evening!
Sounds exhausting! :)
ReplyDeleteI think yoga is very interesting, I've never done it, but I'm planning to do it in the future. When I've finished my studies. Because I already have guitarlessons now. And I will probably take English-classes to learn the English language better. Because I want to studie in another country. I don't know yet witch country but defenitely one where the facilities are in English. Maybe the USA or England or Ireland or Sweden or Finland.. don't know it yet. And it's not a definite decision also, don't know yet how much it all will cost and if I will have enough with the scholarship..
So it's a good thing to wright now and then or your blog, I wanna perfectionize my English! :)

That does indeed sound pretty difficult and demanding. But I'm pretty sure that, with time and exercise, it's going to start feeling easier to do and your body will get used to it. Anyhow, I think it's really good that this training can be done in the forest or the park, I think the greater amount of oxygen you inhale, the better it is for the body. And indoors you don't get so much fresh air. And it makes it more pleasant as well, I think. Here in Romania it's pretty risky to be a girl and go jogging in the park, there would be lots of guys looking at you and even telling you stuff, blehh.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, dear Anette, I have a big big question for you and it would make me infinitely grateful if you could help me out. We are having a tiny show the day after tomorrow and me and a friend are planning to perform Nightwish's cover of "The Heart asks Pleasure First". The problem is, we have a tiny piece of lyric which we couldn't make out from the videos recorded at Hartwall, it's the verse after: "Slave to the toil, this mortal coil". We couldn't really understand the part after that and we couldn't think of anything decent to fit in. If you could tell us what that verse says, we would really appreciate it. I don't know how this should be done, whether replying in a new entry or posting a response to this one, but I was hoping you could give us a hand.
Thanks so much in advance and hope you have a great day!
Good evening :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow that sounds very hard..I really have respect for people like you, who have so much discipline ;D
Have a nice evening and good night (:
lots of love from germany<3
Well that seems like a lot of fun and interesting exercise techniques!
ReplyDeleteI should try them in spare time!
I love yoga and pilates!
They're relaxing, I think.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
Hugs and love, Katie T.
I was gonna ask how your PT session went! My body plateaus really quickly, and I always find doing new things like this gets me going again. At the moment I am recovering from a bout with a chronic illness, and my muay thai instructor is taking great delight in trying to get my cardio strengthened again... it is very painful for me, but fun for him :)
ReplyDeleteWhich reminds me, please take pics when in Thailand! Muay Thai, obviously, comes from there and I would love to go and train. Try and see a fight at one of the big stadiums - it is an essential Thai experience!

You must be a very disciplined person- WoW!!!
I have a strange cough at the moment. Hope it is not the swine flu- one never knows...

Hi Anette!
ReplyDeleteI had a question for you. I was wondering, how did you get started wanting to exercise, and how do you keep motivated to do so? I'll always start, keep at it for a week or two, then fall out of habit and can't get back into it. Any advice? You seem like the perfect person to ask.
Thanks for being a great role model and putting on awesome live shows. Can't wait for your US tours with a new Nightwish album in 2011!
Best,
Irena
That's great! I was in the gym today as well, and I must say - relaxing afterwards just feels great!
ReplyDeleteHave a good evening,
xx Pixie
Hey Nettie! I hope that it helped you!

I always love working out. It's good for the body and mind!
ReplyDeleteMight I suggest you get some low free weights? About ten pounds is good. When I don't have the time during the day to do my usual two hours of exercise, I take 15 or 20 minutes to use the weights. I always try to get in atleast 15 mins a day, if nothing else. Have fun with it Anette!

Hi!
ReplyDeleteI just love your music, i read in the newspaper that you're gonna perform live at P3 Guld in Gothenburg in January. What are your thoughts about that? :-)
Hugs!!!
It seems interesting, Anette.
ReplyDeleteI think one more week and you will be very very relaxed doing these exercises =D.
Love,
Carol
Hehe, this reminds me on Rocky- exercising outside in the winter, with natural objects :)
ReplyDeletegood job, I guess I could try some of that too :)
I would like to have such strength will to do so...It seems interesting. I have forest behind my house, too, but I am afraid of jogging there. Lot of murders and suicides were there, so I pay respect that forest.
ReplyDeleteAs you have mentioned, that you are cat lover, I found this video on internet...

Enjoy the day

I'm not serious by the way, of course I understand what you are talking about. =) It is very nice to hear that you're such an energetic person. Keep it up! ;-)

ReplyDeleteok, so now i'm talking with a stupid friend of mine and he's tottaly disrespectful towards women singing in metal bands. he refers to you all as bitches.
ReplyDeleteI told him that was stupid, disrespectful and totally inappropriate. and then he gave me this stupid example:
'so if the leadsinger of, for example, a nu-metal band, in the beginning of the show says 'ARE YOU READY TO JUMP MOTHERFUCKERS?' to the audience, it's disrespectful?'
and I told him that that had nothing to do with calling women in metal bitches, because in a metal show, especially if we're talking about that type of bands, is almost a given. The audience expects that, so no one is bothered. i wouldn't say that it is appropriate, but it's expected.
Then he told me 'so imagine this. Gene simmons, Nikki Sixx (or whoever) finds Simone (we were talking about simone but this applies to you all) and says 'HEY BITCH!' and slaps her in the butt. would that be disrespectful?! HELL NO!'
again, I had to explain him that you kinda expect something like that from such people. it's not 'respectful and appropriate' but it's like... whatever.
And now I ask you: if a fan, or even someone who hates you (like my friend, he hates every women in metal except doro -BECAUSE SHE'S HOT- and floor jansen) finds you in the street and calls you a bitch: would that be okay with you? is it ok to disrespect people just because you don't like them? I MEAN COME OOOON, OUR PARENTS TEACH US THIS WHEN WE'RE LIKE 3.
I'm really pissed right now. How can I get him to GROW UP and learn to respect people and music and things he doesn't like?! I've tried everything, if only you or any other woman in metal could tell him how that feels.
i'm sick of being judged for listening to women singing metal (although I listen to many male vocals as well)!!! seriously, it's ridiculous. and really frustrating. It really hurts to see how you women in metal (every woman in metal, whether I like her or not) aren't taken seriously by so many people. IT REALLY DOES HURT.
wow Anette that sounds really exhausting and difficult, but it's great for sure! I should also think of doing these kind of things more often!
ReplyDeleteTake care not to get ill because of the cold weather!!!
Have a nice evening and a restful night!
Love,
Herta
Wow, Petra made you work really really hard. But if you're telling us that after all, you felt it's ok, I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteI also feel like I'm gonna puke right after doing a very hard exercise, it's a disgusting feeling. For me, maybe it is because I'm not very used to do it, so...
By the way, I just found on Youtube a beautiful Christmas carol sung by Enya in Gaelic (old Irish). It's Silent Night and it's just...perfect and magical, like from another time. Here you have:

Hope you like it as much as I did. Have a nice sleep and sweet dreams ^^
