Have you ever taked lessons from Cathrine Sadolin, the vocal teacher? Because I use her book + CD for my training, think it is wonderful, and I heard something somewhere about you and her, yet I don't recall totally.. (:

- No, I haven´t but I have used her book and CD on tour and it has helped me so much with all those issues I got from singing almost every day and being ill on tour. Wonderful book, wonderful coach!

- No, I am pleased with my life;=) I do want to study to be a midwife so that is something I want to do in the future.

hi Anette thanks for the oportunity :) here are my questions, if it isn't possible to answer them all, only one would be aweosome:

1) On the first photoshoots for Nightwish and half of the DPP Tour you used to have black hair then switched to blonde. Recently turned to black again. Is it a fashion choice, a label commitment?

2) Personally i never expected you to re-create the Nightwish sound for your own tracks but do you think that when a recognized vocalist does a solo album the quality tends to be forgotten because of the name of the person behind the songs?

3) In early interviews you said your Finnish wasn't that good... If so, why do kuolema tekee taiteilijan to introduce yourself?

4) Some people tend to say your voice isnt suitable with an orchestra behind. As you've done some solo appearences with orchestra, can we expect some more in the future?

5) As a regular visitor of your blog i see you have some interests in the fashion area. Like many pop artists do, can we expect a clothing line from Anette Olzon?

Hi Logan;=)
- Actually I have red hair nowadays so yet another colour;=) Well, I did colour my hair black when I began in NW and that was something I was asked to do at that time. Then after a while with the black I started to feel I wanted to get back to "myself" more. I have always been blonde and it was a big change to get to black, even if I liked it. Now I have red and I actually think it´s a good in-between choice that might suit me so I think I´ll stick to this for a while now;=)
- I don´t know actually, I can only say that me doing the songs I do in my solo, is because that is what I love to sing. I have always been kinda melancholic in my tone and also inside of me so I just do the music that needs to come out. I think the most important thing to do when going solo is to do what YOU want to do, not what the labels want or what you think the fans want to hear. Show yourself and be true to yourself is the key, I think.
- Haha, no my Finnish is so bad;=) But I have this thing as a personality trait - I always like to do crazy things and I dont take myself so serious. I thought it was a way for me to show the fun side of myself and also that I would like to sing in Finnish one day, if they help me with it:=)
- People tend to think so much;=) I have been singing in big bands, in dance bands, in rock bands and also now in front of a symphonic orchestra and I dont think there´s some special criterias for being a singer who can sing with a big orchestra. I think voices like mine, that is non-classical, can do it as good as a classical voice and I hope I can do it many times more cause it was just wonderful and I loved it;=)
- I do love fashion so it could happen some day, but I dont have any plans at the moment.

- I think the red I have now is really nice cause it gives my pale face some colour. Otherwise I love platina blonde;=)
- There are many actually so very hard to choose one. I do love Come cover me, Higher than hope, Creek Marys blood and Romanticide.

Hey Anette!

1 - I find amazing that you can sing the old nightwish songs mostly in chest voice! Has your voice always been this strong?

2 - Also, you mentioned practicing flute register in one of your posts, do you think some day we will hear you singing in that register, maybe in Nightwish? :)

3 - Last question, have you ever wondered about voice acting for cartoon/videogame/animation movie characters, while not on tour with Nightwish?

- Thanks so much;=) And yes, it has. That´s been one of my strengths always, a very strong voice.
- I dont think so cause it´s not one of my best things to sing, but you never know.
- That would be cool if I got to do that;=)

- It´s mainly Tuomas baby, but we all love it and are involved. But Tuomas is the creator and he does the most.
