I am so sorry that I couldn't be on stage yesterday in Denver:-( I got very ill the night before and first went to the ER in the morning and were there for 5 hours before they released me with some painkillers and thought it was a kidney stone.
Unfortunately I got worse at 7 in the evening and started vomitting heavily and my fever rised. After talking to the hospital they said I should cancel the show and come straight back in to the ER.
I was there all night and I was very dehydrated so they gave me 2 litres of fluid though an IV, they did blood tests, ultrasounds on my kidneys and finally a ct scan. These tests didn't show why I was so ill but probably the stomach pain has a connection with me having the flu or just stress.
They did find something else though and for that I'm grateful. If I didn't do the scan I wouldn't know there's a big cyst in my liver and I need to go check it out ASAP at home.
I do feel better today but still fever cough and a very soar throat but hopefully I can be on stage tonight, even if it means shorten the set list.

I was dissappointed that you couldn't be on stage, but Nightwish did their best to continue without you. The whole audience helped by singing the parts that Marco didn't know. Did you get the get well card that we sent you? I hope you feel better

So sorry that you are ill. Hope you get better very soon. I know they missed you in Denver, but it's good that the show went on. Oh my gosh, I sure hope you don't have kidney stones. I had a terrible experience once with them and needed 2 surgeries and stents put in my urethras for 12 weeks to widen them. And your poor liver! Doctors know so much but at the same time they know so little that I hope they didn't make you feel like a pin cushion and that you get better right away. Being ill and far from home is the worst feeling. No one can get better in a hotel room with mini bar chocolates.

Anette, I am new to Nightwish and saw the Denver show last night. Awesome. The singers from Kamelot did a good job and the band was very warm and entertaining. While my wife and I were disappointed we did not see you, we are glad you are ok and recovering. I am sure we will see you and the band again. Take care and get strong.

ReplyDeleteNettie, I wish you all the best. You a very strong person and you will fight for this. When I was 10 years old, I had a lung cyst. I felt terrible, but with all the medicines I took the cyst dissapeared but my lungs are a litte bit weak now. Maybe that's why I can't sing the way I want.

Hope you getting better. The flu sucks! While I kind of do give credit to the band for wanting to go on with the show, I was taken aback with the girls using cheat sheets. I kind of took away from the show if you ask me. It's in the past now, so enjoy the rest of the tour. Take care.
