I guess I have to grab stuff that are ok-ish to wear in warm weather as well as in a little bit colder weather. The problem is always that I only have one suitcase and I need to bring one or two more stage outfits in that one too. I think this tour need to be one with not so many outfits on stage. Just need to wash them more often;=)
So, all of you Atlanta-people and New Yorkers - what should I pack to wear??;=)

Atlanta is humid till around October. You're going to feel sticky and sweaty lol Get your summer clothes. I don't know about New York, though. I think it would be a lot more cooler since it's up north.

ReplyDeleteHi Anette! Here in Philadelphia It is still very warm and muggy during the days. Tonight is the first night/early morning it has actually felt cool. NY temperature seems similar as does Atlanta's via news forecast. You will probably be fine with summer clothing and packing just a few fall type items, unless you get cold easy. Good luck with the tour!

ReplyDeleteI just read a weather forecast and both locations seem to be quite sunny and will continue to be sunny for the next week :) But I would probably pack some cold weather clothes just incase ;=)

ReplyDeleteWell, I live in Canada (which might not be very helpful since you're only doing two shows here)... but we are definitely having autumn weather here. I am wearing a sweater right now. My advice would be to bring tops with long sleeves, but not heavy material, because those can work well for cold weather or warm. I hope I helped :)

I live near Philadelphia, so I would recommend you pack enough for summer weather (It's in the 70s and 80s F all this week). The weather is still fluctuating though. It could be in the 70s one week and the 90s the next. Plus, it can also be hot in the south and cooler up north. But I would recommend mostly packing for warm weather, but include a few pieces of clothing for autumn weather too.

ReplyDeleteI can't help you with the U.S. weather forecast but have you seen the Pack it folders of Eagle Creek?
They're not cheap but very handy. I always use them when I can't bring a lot. You can find them in travelstores and definately in the U.S.

Hi Anette! I can't wait to see you again. I wouldn't worry too much about stuff for really hot weather here. You will be in the bus with AC for the hottest parts of most days. I think mostly you'll see an average of 75 degrees, increasing on the West Coast, and South-West states. The mornings and evenings will be cooler. Other than your stage outfits, layer comfie stuff to remove as needed. I hope that helps. I won't see you until October! 26 days! And with Kamelot to boot!

It's has been warm if not hot, and humid cause of Isaac the last few days here in NYC. But now that seems to have passed, and the temperatures have gone down to cool to warm, and much more comfortable w/out all the humidity. Hope it stays that way.

I agree with ArenaSkies about Atlanta and the Southern and Eastern states. Good advice there. I hope you got a flu shot. I know I know I bugged you last year too! I just adore you, want the best chance for you to be well, and can't help my nurse self. For the meet and greets get hand sanitizer. School started recently so a new round of germs will be on peoples hands. Sorry if I'm a pain in the arse to you with my germ stuff, but US germs aren't germs you're immune system is used too and I just want you to have the best possible time with all those shows.

As far as NY and PA go, our weather is a bit schizophrenic. So it might be hot and dry, it might be cold and rainy - or both - it's been known to happen... I'd just go with neutral things like jeans and light shirts for up here, that way you'll be safe either way. Just don't forget an umbrella! The rain can come out of nowhere up here.
ReplyDeleteBig countries must be a colossal pain in the butt for you since we have such varied weather throughout our boarders. :\ Overall I'd recommend pieces that transition well - Something you can wear if it's warm, but toss a jacket over if it's cold. A cute skirt that works with some nice thick tights as well as on its own - things like that. That way you'll get the most use out of the fewest things so you won't have to worry about each section of the country and what to wear since you'll be able to adapt as you go.
And YES! Get hand sanitizer! It's germ season over here like you wouldn't believe. If you're worried about your hands drying out from excessive alcohol try the Gold Bond sanitizer, it feels like lotion and one bottle will likely last you the whole tour. :)
NY can be very humid during the day and on the same day, very cold in the evenings. I'd wear what you want for stage clothes (you'll be hot anyway, ha!) but pack layer-able clothes for streetclothes (leggings, a hoodie, jeans, light shirts, etc.)
ReplyDeleteI've lived here all my life and the weather/humidity is pretty unpredictable, so bring a little bit of everything and you should be fine. Just be prepared for humidity!

In general, the best for this weather that we have been experiencing is loose and breezy stuff. Anything tight and you may very well faint from the heat, especially if you are susceptible to higher temps. Bring a cardigan for the days that are cooler. Specific fabrics I'd recommend are chiffon and jersey.
ReplyDeleteGreat suggestions The Dreamer! I agree. Get a flu shot, and pack those sanitizers. I hear sometimes it's too much air conditioning that does in some European musicians here. Cristina Scabbia of Lacuna Coil made a comment about that once. So, maybe I'd suggest making sure that on the bus, the temperature is no colder than what you're used to, to keep you from getting sick ;).

I live over here in Ohio, and I can tell you that for the past week or two, we've had a lot of autumn weather. So I would pack some clothes for that too. Just in case. Lately, I've been wearing a lot of jeans and t-shirts. But in the early mornings and sometimes late at night, I need a jacket. Though a few days ago it was perfect weather for me to wear a sundress.

ReplyDeleteLayers! That's all I can say haha it was hot and muggy on the east coast all the way up until Saturday and now the temperature is starting to drop. I had to grab a jacket today on the way out. Annoying thing is that the weather might decide to heat up again while you're here so bringing layered clothing would really be my best guess.

Hi Anette, I live in the metro Atlanta area. Lately it's been 25.6 during the day. It's been a bit chilly (but, then again, I'm cold-natured) and morning and evenings in the past few days have been around 13.9. Look forward to seeing/hearing you on Wednesday and Thursday. ReplyDeleteMontreal & Toronto are experiencing fall like weather as is Ohio, as my best friend has informed me. Weather here has been about 10 C at night with highs reaching about 20C. However being weather here is so unpredictable light fabrics and sweaters with T-Shirts will help. Cannot wait to see you in Montreal & Toronto
Hope you're all feeling better! If it's a stomach-related illness, that goes away more quickly than anything upper respiratory-related. The best advice I can give is to bring layers, like others have said. A water-resistant jacket with pockets is always good to have. :) And thank goodness for smart phones. Tourists look far less conspicuous with a phone or tablet than they do holding a giant map in front of them!
