2nd Advent

Good morning!

Today we celebrate 2nd Advent and I have lit the candles when we went up early in the morning.

We have watched the x-mas calendar on TV - me, Seth and Nemo. It´s a funny calendar this year and that´s great. Some years the calendar is quite boring but this year they have based the tv series on some books me and Seth have been reading in the evenings before he´s gonna sleep. The books are about a family, "Rantanen", where mum is half Finnish. So it´s extra fun to read when she is cursing in Finnish;=) Seth love the books and so do I. We are on the last book at the moment, no 7 I think. So they have done a lot of them.

Today it´s gonna snow the whole day so I guess some indoor activities. I need to do some cleaning so it suits me fine;=)

Enjoy your 2nd Advent;=)

  2. Hi Anette

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by watching a calendar on tv. Is it that there are Christmas-y programs on tv leading up to Christmas? I suggest you all watch “The Snowman” together ;)

Hope you slept well, Seth, and Nemo too. Yeah its starting the second week of Advent. Not to many more days left to finish my Christmas shopping. Maybe latter in the day I can get some more of it done. As for right now its time to crawl under my rock and go to sleep.....
Have the best day possible, and enjoy!

  5. I always watch the x-mas calender here in Norway!! It's so fun no matter what age you are! The most awesome calender series here in Norway are about the red "nissene" and the blue "nissene" (Don't know what nisser would be in english. Do you get an idea of what I mean if I call the red and blue Santas?).

  7. I recognize that woman in the picture, she's Maria Sid, finnish actor.

Yeah, it's the 2nd Advent. I'll celebrate it later today by drinking "glögg" and playing some x-mas songs by piano.

Tomorrow is very important celebration day here in Finland, it's our independence day! There will this programme on tv called "Linnan juhlat" (it's maybe in english something like "Castle's parties", I don't know :D) which means that our president has invited people to celebrate the independence day so we will see many beautiful gowns on tv!

  12. They were talking about that christmas calendar in one of our morning tv shows and Maria Sid was interviewed. She said that it was fun to come up all these nicer curse words because she couldn´t use the "regular" finnish curse word selection because kids are watching the tv calendar. :D
