ReplyDeleteI think that Smells like teen spirit is not the easiest song to make a cover. I have heard for example Tarja Turunen singing it and as much as I like her music and voice.. well, I think Tarja's version of this song wasn't good.
But this song is like made to Tori Amos. Nice one! :)

ReplyDeleteI love Tori's covers! I was disappointed in the studio version of Smells Like Teen Spirit, but there is a certain live version I dig a lot. I tried getting into Sarah Brightman, but its just not happening.
ReplyDeleteI haven't really listend to Tori, but Sarah is great. And I'm a big Epica fan! Good choice! :) If they come your way, you should check out a show, they put on a great one :). I just saw them at the Trocadero in Philadelphia (where I saw NW for the first time ^_^;) and they put on a great show :). Simone would make a cool guest artist on the new album (hint hint).

Anette, how are you? You always post such wonderful things. I have to say that after listening to these three vocalists, the vocals don't tell the story quite like yours does. I so love the majic your vocals added tp the songs that Tarja had done. Tori is meloncholy sure, but she's flat. Simone is over the top but she can sound so whiney at times. I just love and appreciate you. If I woke up one morning and God had performed a miracle in my sleep and gave me a singing voice, I would want to sound something like you!
