Had my dear friend Linda here today and we ate sushi, yummie! We talked a lot about this and that and nice people and not so nice people and we decided that in the end, we still believe its better to be one of the nice people;=) Aren´t we very wise?;=)
But sleep really well all of you and hope your days have been truly nice and wonderful! And if not, I am sure tomorrow will be a better one;=)

You are very wise, you two ;-) Nah, you are really right, it´s better to be the nice one - better to be the good guy. The bad ones usually look somewhat better, but they have the habit of dying in the end of the story. Better to be the good one ^^

Many times, I ask to myself about the same quest: Does it worth the pity being nice and kind to others, while many people aren't to you?
And then I have to answers from myself:
I'm not always as kind as I should be, and yes, it's the best option..No matter what the others do or what happens..The good person in one will let you only sleep well if you act from it :)
By the way, I cannot stop seeing that, since you left the band, you do seem in every post a little happier, younger and even beautier..
Even talking about my very favourite band, I now understand that it wasn't a nice influence to your health condition.
In conclusion, i see you happier every day.

ReplyDeleteAnd sure, is always better to be nice people, but sometimes I think I'm not, maybe I'm too sincere and some people just don't know how to hear the truth, so they turn their anger on me into hate but that's alright, I know that the truth hurts and some people aren't ready for it.
Of course I smile and talk to people in a very slow way, try to help them when they need and I can, but even Christ didn't please anybody, why should us?
And by the way, really hope you have a great day tomorrow, can't wait to see the pictures, it's been a long time since we last saw a photo session of you =D. Anxious!!

I'm not such enthusiastic about the band as I was. I can feel all remains of the innocence in Nightwish are gone... I hope you know what I mean.
I also want to say that I'm your big fan, I'm with you and I'm sure your new album will be amazing. Floating and Invincible demos are amazing. I believe in you. I'm waiting for your songs - new inspiration for me and new world to discover :)

ReplyDeleteMyself being one of the nice people on this world I'm inclined to agree that you and Linda are correct :-) It is better to be one of the nice people and I think the world would be a much better place if everyone was like us :-) However, at the same time though it can be a handicap. In my life I've found that by being a nice person ( I'm also an outsider by nature ) people are more inclined to take advantage of you, mock you, and are generally disrespectful. I've experienced all this in my life. Especially when I was younger ( I'm 34 in Feb )

My sweet sweet woman, don't EVER waste your time talking about not nice people or things that has happened to you in your past, you're way better than this.. you have a good soul... those people that hurted you should not be mentioned by you because YOU'RE a good, nice and amazing person ;) my grandma used to say this to me everynight when I was little and lived with her:

And yes it is better to be a nice person. A lot of times when people piss me off I want to get back at them and do bitchy things, but I can't bring myself to do it bc Ill feel bad... Idk y I just can't be mean to people to their face. Maybe bc I hate confrontations... When people piss me off I like to complain to other people about that person. Yeah, I complain a lot to my friend about how people r such assholes and immature and rude. Y can't people just grow up and get along?

She was doing so well, then now a setback. But she is very determined, and starting a new treatment. I appreciate your fresh positive blog more than you know.

So sorry to hear about your Mother, my Mum's been through it as well, she actually went through it while she was pregnant with me. Best thing is to stay positive and be with positive people, I've heard my Mum say it to others who are going through it too.

Hey Nettie, I look forward to seeing your photos. :D I also wanted to thank you for something very personal...One night about four years ago, I was searching for live videos of NW during the DPP tour and when I listened to you sing "Higher Than Hope", it brought back so many emotions for me. (My eldest sister passed away from cancer in 2007.) From those feelings, I managed to revive my motivation to carry on and be happy like she would have wanted. It was the first time I can truly say the music has personally touched me and it was primarily because of you. Thanks for being such a beautiful person and inspiration. If only I could have told you this when I met you in Houston, TX in 2009! I owe you a hug. ;)

Tom; Hi! Yeah, and thats the harder side of it., When I tell my son to be kind to others, I don't want him to be so nice that others can be mean to him. But its better to try and be as nice as you can, until there are no other way than to "bite" towards them and show its enough. So to be nice doesn't equal having to put up with crap and mean people. It just means trying to be as nice as you can in every situation.

I think if you say something to someone with honesty, but in a nice way, not disrespectful and in the way of talking "down" on the other one, its better to say what you feel than pretend something. But I also find that sometimes people don't want to hear the honesty, its to hard for them to hear what you feel and then things can get into a bad way. But I try to say things in a nice tone and sometimes people take it in the right way and others in a bad way and then I have to, of course, explain myself and say sorry if it was taken the wrong way.
Santijatib; Hi! yeah, being nice is the best choice but as you say, of course we all have done things that are less nice in life and that can be due to a situation where we are disrespected, pressured to it, hurt and so on and therefore pushed to being less nicer. But being mean and evil or being nice and kind is a big difference and I guess some people just turn to the mean way before being nice to many times. I saw a program yesterday where they talked about "what is evil?" and is everyone evil inside? It was a really interesting show and what they came up to after some talk was that NO, not everyone can be evil. Some people will always choose the good side, even if it means getting killed and so on. And I believe this too. I can do many things when I am hurt and sad in a fight. Say things I regret afterwards and so on, but I would never hurt anyone physically. I just don't have it in me and believe me, I´ve been in a situation where I should had tried to really damage someone to not be hurt myself, but I just couldn't. But its an interesting thing, what is evil and so on and there was one guy who wrote a book called Monster about the most evil killers there has been and I am gonna read it, even if I am sure I will feel really bad afterwards, reading about these monsters. Carolina, Hi and what a sad and painful story;=( And yeah, this is a hard things, divorces, new spouces and so on and unfortunately there are so many children feeling like this and parents are not always making the best decisions for their children in life. So sad and I wish it wasn't like this. I am a divorced child and also having being so hurt due to it and then when I divorced I feel even worse due to my son having to be in that position. But there´s not much to do, cause we can't tell people how to be a good parent if they do not want to or just don't understand how to be one. Take care and thanks for sharing;=)
