I have just signed a petition against Japans dolphine slaughter cause I have never seen anything as horrible as the videos in the internet where you can see how they put the dolphins into a bay and slaughter them with knives and spears. I dont want to put the video here cause it was so intense and its better if you can decide if you want to see it yourself.
Here´s the link to the video I watched but be adviced that it is very very cruel and horrible.

ReplyDeleteI don't believe that signing something will help (I think it's similar to eating dogs in China)... It's Japan not Sweden, Poland etc, ppl there are different, and if it's well known and still nobody changed it, how we - strangers to Japan, can help?

I hate the cruelty and the disregard of the honour of animals by humans SO much! Always money is the most important thing to most people in our society...

I hope this petition works.. I'll sign it too, but I wont watch the video.. I don't have the stomach for it.. I don't know why I'm like this .. Humans, I have no problem.. But I cannot see an animal suffer.. I mean, by humans hands.. I eat meat and everything and in this case I think it's a survival case.. but I cry everytime }i read something about someone killing or torturing puppies or kittens only for fun.. some weeks ago, 2 men practiced shooting with a little dog as a target. The dog suffered for a whole night before it was found and thank god it was ok.. it had a surgery and was adopted.

ReplyDeleteI don't think that signing petitions wouldn't help to solve such problems. It is necessary to make people know about these things and that helps a lot. I know that in many nothern countries (in Canada, Russia and Norway) such petitions helped to restrict the hunt for whitecoats (little newborn seals). As the result, here in Russia the hunting of whitecoats was totally prohibited.
So such petitions are very necessary things. Once more thank you for writing this post.

ReplyDeleteHi A - As a conservationist and animal lover I thank you for highlighting this issue. It really is scandalous that they should be allowed to get away with such actions. A similar thing could be said about whale and shark hunting which is equally as barbaric. Especially when you understand that it usually just the fins that are needed and the rest disposed....

I'm from Spain and you must know about 'our' taurine traditions, and you can't imagine how much I hate it when it comes to that. It makes me feel ashamed of my country because I can not understand how the hell there're still people who find it amusing. Amusing!! Making animals suffer and bleed with no pity!! It's just terrible, it makes me see the dark, cruel side of the human being, and also the primitive one. It's shameful.

I didn't think it twice, I just signed the online petition. I hate those killings. I've seen (a time ago) videos of how another people killed animals and skinned them for making furs (or just killed because they tought it was fun...). I just hate it, why can't they just leave them alone?

ReplyDeleteI think it's better that I don't watch the video. I get so easily fainted etc so I'll skip this. But poor dolphins! Dolphins are very beautiful animals and it's so wrong to do like that to any kind of creature that lives.
It could be that signing that petition doesn't stop the cruelty but at least people are trying to do something to it and that matters also.
I won't even see the video, I can't watch these things...People are so cruel!!! I hate them! Poor animals! :( breaks my heart...I don't understand how they have the courage to do that :/

I know it's cruel for them to be slaugtered like that. I just think that you should be careful about getting involved with stuff like that.
ReplyDeleteYou see, I live Newfoundland. And here, there is what people call 'The Seal Hunt'. Many mainlanders, and people outside of Newfoundland disagree with the Seal Hunt. Saything that it is cruel and that we are savages. Yes, I agree that the way my people used to hunt the seals was cruel, (with clubs), but I do not think that they should make a big deal out of it like they do. Back in the day, in the winters, we didn't have much food. Fishing and sealing here is our main source of resources. We can't just simply stop hunting seals. They are our food, our clothing, our source of vitamins.
Heather Mccartney and her husband Sir Paul Mccartney, decided to get involved with the protest against the seal hunt. Bad idea. They do not know anything about the seal hunt, and are only sticking up for the seals because they are cute. What about the chickens and the cows that get slaugtered? What about the less prettier animals like the snake, or the sharks, the animals that are close to extinction? Will anyone help them? No. Because they aren't as cute as other animals, like tigers, or seals. Pamela Anderson had something to say about the seal hunt too. But her canadian audience just booed her because she doesn't know what she is talking about. She lost respect because of what she said. Sealing is a way of life. People need to understand that.
Now I do agree with this petition against the slaughter of dolphins. I think it is cruel and such a sin! My heart goes out to those poor animals. I just want you to be careful, because maybe the Japanese don't see eye to eye with your views. However I do not think that the petition will cause an uproar, because many people agree that it is cruel.
I mean no offence, and I think it's cruel just like you think. I love animals, and I hate the way some people treat them.

ReplyDeleteThis not only happen with dolphins and whales in Japan, animal cruelty happens everywhere in every country and this is so bad. I can't change the situation alone and I feel so feeble sometimes.
I am already vegetarian and I am just waiting my 18 years old to open an animal shelter and enter in an animal rights organization.

Hi Anette, There are no words to describe how i feel!! Its the same with baby seals too! its sickening these Dolphins are such free spirited & intelligent Animals! the video is barbaric! Humans can be so vile & dispicable. The planet is slowly being destroyed not by animals, sea life, or plants but by dirty filthy greedy humans! I am not speaking about anybody on this blog just cruel greedy humans in general like these in the video. I want to say so much more but i want to shout it out in anger!Even African Elephants have become aggressive towards humans because of all the elephants that have been murdered for their tusks!!!

ReplyDeleteI too didn't watch the video, I'm quite faint-hearted and I always get shaken by such things, but I signed the petition. Unfortunately, I still wonder how much do some signatures count, for these actions and crimes are illegal anyhow and no one respects the law, they just keep killing the poor animals even though there are huge fines and penalties. Hope they'll manage to stop this slaughter though.
Also, there's also a great site called avaaz.org where people can sign petitions about so many various problems in the world, there was one about the Burmese prisoners and people fighting for peace who were kept there and they managed to free some of them, there are also issues about hunger in the world and all that, it's a great site and it really makes one feel useful by standing up for people's rights and well-being.
