They have a new singer, Nathan, who´s from England and it was his very first gig so very exciting. They played really good as usual and it was just a pity that there wasnt that much people in the place. But I guess Halloween parties were more attracting yesterday.
I took some photos with my cell phone so unfortunately not that good;=(
I also shot a short video clip of them. Enjoy;=)

It's raining for the moment in Flanders, and there's a lot of wind. A bit stormy weather. But we still have about 10 till 15 degrees during the day. Not so cold as Sweden! :)

Hihi... Sonic Syndicate is great! Actually, I have funny memories from their gig here in Helsinki last Feb, during the Helsinki Metal Meeting -- I stood an hour at Tavastia upstairs right next to Tuomas before even recognizing him :p In case this sounded terribly disrespectful it was very dark there and he was wearing black so he was well camouflaged ;) Took a bunch of young girls who came to "OMG WOW is that really YOU!!!", asking autographs and photos before I realized :D Ah well, but it was a nice and funny coincidence -- chatted some about the May US tour and whatelse :) Hadn't met any of the NW dudes in person before that (even despite being a fan of the music for, what... ten years :p) so he really made an impression with being so friendly and down-to-earth -- just like all of you now when I know better ;)
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a nice Halloween weekend! :) I did -- went to see my other Finnish fave band Kotiteollisuus on Friday and just like always (and just like NW ;)), their gig just put me in such a good mood. I recall Tuomas has called them his "therapy band" -- now there's a statement I could personally sign as well ;)
I've never heard about Sonic Syndicate, which is weird if they were your support band in your tour... I might have heard the name before but perhaps I haven't just paid attention to it.. I thought that Sonic Syndicate is pop music :D

I'm not big fan of Sonic Syndicate, but is still good you had the chance to see them. Sometimes I think is good that there aren't too many persons, as it is easier to get closer to the band playing, but on th other hand I'm sure it feels better when the band see a sold out venue.

hi Anette! i know this question is completely unrelated to your post, but i was wondering if you could help me out: i was hoping you could tell me where i can find your versions of any old nightwish songs? have you ever recorded any? or have you just done them live? i've never heard any, and would like to hear your spin on old songs. so, if possible, could you post me a reply on your blog? Oh, I love Sonic Syndicate! I was thrilled when I realized that I would be seeing two of my favourite bands in one night when they opened for you guys here in Canada last year. ;)
