I find it annoying that many people think it this way, and I'm glad you're showing the world that they're wrong ;D

ReplyDeleteElisa: Hi! I dont know actually, but for me, I cant understand that its 2010 and still many people have this opinion. When having a child and being parents, its something both father and mother goes into and are responsible for, not only one part. Of course a mother carries the baby, gives birth and need to breastfeed it so we do have a very special role in the first time with the baby. But other than that, a father can do the same role as the mother and be a stay-at-home dad too. I think the whole discussion about a mother not being able to have a career is quite absurd and I do hope most people can see that its not fair to women to have that opinion. But its a hard thing to discuss since it is so divided in our society and everyone has their own opinion. For me, it has worked out very well to tour and having a child. I was a stay-at-home mum with my son for 1,5 year and will also be at home with the coming baby for more than a year before we start touring again. And we also try to not tour for to many weeks in a row so we dont have to be away from our children to long. When I am at home, I can be with my child full-time and he has never felt abandoned or suffered for me working. We all need to do what feels good for us. Either what we decide to do, noone else should tell anyone how to live our lives. Its up to each family to take those decisions;=)

Maybe that problem you had when cleaning
the cat was worse because you were pregnant...

ReplyDeletethanks a lot for your reply :-) I totally agree with you! You're so right, when having a baby both parts are responsible and take care of her/him, not just the mother. And although women have a special role, there is no reason to sacrifice all of their life and dreams! This is just pointless! Me too, I'm surprised that such opinion is still there nowadays, but I'm glad more and more women are brave enough to show that it's wrong, and I'm glad there are great supportive fathers like your bf :-) I also think your children will be proud of you, 'cause you're teaching them that it's perfectly possible to follow your dreams and be a great loving mum at the same time. This way they'll grow up stronger and they'll know how to follow their own dreams too :-)
I'm sure that things will work out perfectly with the new album/tour and the baby.
I really admire you for living your life by listening to your heart and feelings always! :-)

I was wondering at first about the tour but you and the guys are all adults. You will work it out. And after all, you're not the only one in the band who has toured when having small children. If Jukka and Marco can do it, you can.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that your boyfriend is a great person, Congratulations for both!
Anette, you're so right with what you said. The most important is not to stay at home constantly with the baby, especially if the father could do the same things. It's not like you will not be with the baby shortly after the birth and will not care for her or him. If you're home constantly but without giving love to your child, it's a waste of time and it will only do bad for the children. But if you give her or him love and support, then your child will be happy - and you too, because you know you give your best, and you'll share wonderful moments with your child.
ReplyDeleteI could tell you that between my mother and you, there's no doubt to say who's the best mum. (but then my mother don't deserve the word of "mum" - even my father, as bad an awful as he was, was able to act like a daddy for a while)
Of course i don't know how you are in your everyday life, but for what i know of you you're a great loving mother who really care about her child. THIS is precious.
And BTW, your son seems to be a really nice boy... :)

I just had my third baby last summer( I was 37 ) and it's amaaazing . My son(8) & daughter(almost7) are so proud with their little sister .The expressions on their little faces are priceless . I never thought I would have a third baby myself but there is no one day I regret it . When she smiles at me , I forget all the bad things.

Now, I wanted to tell you a little something.. I'm a Psychology student and during the past semester I studied about pregnancy and psychological issues concerning that. I accompanied a teenage girl during her labor and it was something overwhelming, in a good sense. I learned how important it is to be focused in this period of life, how important it is to breathe properly and how important it is to exercise every day so that the baby can be well nourished by your body. I'm sure you already know all of that, being a mom and all. =) However, I just thought it would be nice to share my experience with someone dear such as yourself who is going through everything that I studied so much. When my sister was born i was nine years old. and mum was almost 39 years.
i know this is not important, but it makes me smile ;)

ReplyDeleteI've only just read your big news (or little secret, as you put it), and can't stop grinning because of it (and I'm supposed to work right now ;) ).
This reminded me of what an amazing world we actually live in.
So congratulations to you and your family, I really hope that everything will go alright :3 I guess this baby will grow up with a lot of beautiful music. (And I think that's how it should always be).

Hej, 9 years age difference is good! My son was also 9 when his little sister was born. I could never manage with 2 babies...this agelimit is good and bad..now it turns little bit bad, cos son is 15 and little sister is bit "pain in ass" ;) But they love each others even it doesnt always look so. They have also different dad and my ex is luckly good dad too. You might face that stupid attidue that you dont love anymore your son when you will have new baby with "new man"..that hurted me! how could I love less? Even close ones said so. I have to prove them how wrong they were. One advice..take your son so much as he can, with new baby "stuff" and TELL him how much you love him. I have told my son that sometimes when baby cryes (like ours did for first months ;( ) mom is tired but it doesnt mean that I dont love you. I did all sort of thing with him only...I am sure it meant lot to him too.
