Chile

Good morning all,

I know all of you, as well as me, have heard about the horrible earthquake in Chile. They say that the first quake measured 8,8 on the Richter schale and that after that quake, Chile has had up against 200 after quakes!! It´s frightening to even imagine how it must be to live in a situation like this and it feels very hard to even know what to say to comfort those who live there, but I am sure that if we all get together and send comforting hugs, it might ease up even in the smallest way and maybe show some hope...

We have a big fan club in Chile and I just want to say that I really do think of you all the time and even if I cant do so much, my thoughts and prayers are there for you all.

Strength to all of you!

  9. Hey Anette

Its absolutley scarry ro see how powerless we are. Mother Nature is the strongest force, and she showes it to us.
To often in the last time, but thats is maybe due to the climatic chaos unleashed by us humans. Its dramatic cause always the innocend ones need to pay teh ticket bought by others. its so sad to see the lifes of thousands or millions being ruined.
I include them in my prayers...maybe it helps a bit

Im sending them comfort and all the best and lots of power to stand throug this nightmare.

    For you dear Anette:
Lots of huuugs and a good time
    smile! ;)
    with Love and Respect

  10. It's so terrible and so sad! :(( I sat on a floor crying when a little boy stood there looking at the camera man and cried: Please, you must help us to find Daddy! ;( That sadness and anxiety on his face, and at the same time there was some hope... Maybe these foreign people who come here with their cameras can do miracles and help them to find his father!

It hurts to even try to imagine how those poor people are suffering...

  11. My thoughts are with all of the people affected by the earthquake.
Even the notion of earthquakes scare me. I went on a trip to Japan since I'm studying the language, and we were given these sheets telling us what we had to do if there was an earthquake, because they're really likely in that region. Thankfully there wasn't one, but it was really scary!

    Best wishes
    xx

  14. Hi Nettan.
My name is Leo. I'm from Santiago de Chile and for my its so painful to see my country like this. Fortunately my family and me are alright after the earthquake. I send to the south of my country clothes, food, and everything I could found in my house to help my people.

And it's so beautiful to see in your blog nice wishes to my country. I really love your voice and I love Nightwish from years ago. Actually I went to the concert when you went to Chile in 2008 =). And I fell in love with your voice for the first moment when I heard the song "EVA" in 2007.

So Nettan I really really appreciate your words to my country. And I want to give you my best wishes to your new baby!!!. That's really good news after all!.
Forgive me if I had mistakes in my grammar I'm not good writing in english but i'm trying do my best =)

PD: I was wondering.. I think you're able to sing songs like "Crownless" or "Deep Silent Complete" from Wishmaster Album or maybe "The Wayfarer" with your voice it will sound beautiful I think ;).

    Ok. Saludos desde Chile
    Te amamos =)

  15. Oh dear, yeah it was awful.
What can I say...it took two minutes and a half of horror at 3:34 AM, but it wasn´t the worse. I don´t know how much time later came a Tsunami in almost three regions, with waves of 15 meters approximately and the houses that stood until that moment, didn´t make it... the wave just swept away everything in its path.
As a Country we're really grateful of all the international support and help in this difficult time.
Me and my family are fortunate to be alright thank God.
Of course I want to add my personal thanks to you for your beautiful words for us C:.I love your voice and congratulations for the comming baby ;D.

    With love.

  18. Hello dear Anette!
Thank you very very very much for your message =)
For us it's very reconfortating to know you feel about us, about this natural disaster.
Your words are really appreciated here :)

Here we all are helping our chilean mates, there's a 24 hour tv campaign to help all the people in the south of our country 'cause they were the worst damaged because of the earthquake.

Greetings from Santiago, Chile and thanks again ^^
    We love you dear!

By the way, one of the happiest things we've known these days is when you published you're pregnant! It was like a flower growning between the ruines =)

  19. Hi, Anette
Another chilean person in here :)
I'm from Santiago too and here it was very strong but not too destructive as it was in the south of Chile
Here the earthquakes are very frequent
I'm not scared about these things 'cause I was born here and my parents have explained me about this many times when I was a little girl.
I was awake when it happened so I felt it from the beginning
And I didn't realised how big it was till I saw the news many hours after it.
I felt horrible when I saw part of my country in ruins, and I cried for people who lost everything
Fortunately, I'm safe, also my whole family are ok...My house didn't fell, just little things broken. I'm SO lucky!!
Do you know what Teleton means?
It's like a big show where people from the whole country give money for disabled children and some adults.
Well, this time our Teleton was done to help those who lost their homes.
I'm very proud of being chilean, 'cause we had to reach the goal of $15.000.000.000 and we just did $30.212.755.555
Also I gave money and food to help them, now we'are dealing with this in a very good way and nothing will stop us!
Thank you very much for your words, it feels great to read that people from other places are worried and interested in us! Especially from you, 'cause we love you a lot :)
    Thank you again :)
I wish you can read this.

  22. Hi Anette,

I live in Peru and it is next to Chile. I can tell you that it has been really awful. More than a hundred of Peruvian has been afected by the earthquake. People are homeless and living in the middle of the disaster. Almost dialy we are watching on the TV that all the secundaries earthquakes are tearing everything down. It's so sad to see all that, sometimes I just turn off the Tv, because I don't want to see anything more.

Well, the good thing is that many countries are helping Chile and, I hope, soon it will be Ok.

    Fuerza Chile!

    Alejandra.

  23. Thank you, dear Annette, the truth was terrible as it was still awake listening to music when it all started, I can tell you that I live in the city of Curico, seventh region, Chile on a city areas ground zero, according to the Richter scale was 8.8, were two and a half minutes longer than my life !!!!!!, very uneasy subsequent days without light, water, unable to sleep watching my city fall apart, many historical parts, is a horrible punishment. I thank God for being alive and my loved ones are fine, but my sorrow is for those who lost their homes, their families, if you could see! sea took many houses, there are many people in my area they disappeared, hopefully everything would have been a nightmare, but I can tell you that my country is a fighter, we will move forward, kisses and thank Anette for your greetings, Catalina.

  24. Hi Anette, as you mention in your beautiful message, our beloved country Chile, is going through a very difficult situation. To us, that weren't damaged (thank God) by this horrific earthquake and tsunami, we have seen people suffer because have lost their family, people who can't find theirs, and those who have lost everything... and gives us much sad to see our people suffer and children desperately searching for their parents, is very bleak ...

But your message gives us great strength knowing that people we admire, as our favorite bands, our favorite singers don't forget us, and with a simple message of support, we feel (as said a girl of Nightwish Chile, Carla) that we are not alone, and for us that is very important. We highly appreciate your gesture, Anette and we really never forget it!

The next time you come to Chile, I hope to hug you and thank you personally *o*!

Many blessings to you, with love

    Michelle Carrasco
    Santiago, Chile

PS: Please, if you have a little free time, tell Emppu that I love him, and I miss him :), Thanks again *o*

  30. Thanks a lot Anette for your concern!
First of all, let me tell you the whole country joined forces and hope and we managed to collect around 50 thousand million chilean pesos to go and help people in need who lost their houses and family members because of this huge quake. Everytime our country is struck by nature, we always manage to go through it and overcome the situation.
So now, eventhough the ground still shaking from time to time, we are full of hope and optimism towards the future!!

Dear Anette, I really hope to see you again soon, I enjoyed the Nigthwish concert a lot and I loved to see you on the stage. After the show we shared with the guys (Tuomas, Empu, etc) a few beers. I heard you had to rush to the hotel 'cause your boyfriend wasn't feeling well, which is absolutely understandable.

Thank you Anette once again for your kind words and concern. I wish you the best of the best, and... I hope to see you live again in Santiago de Chile soon!

    Lotsa hugs!!!

  31. Anette: My name that Camila Araneda and I'm from Santiago, Chile.

I want to thank you on behalf of my country. Thank God I live where there were no material losses, but the South is strongly affected by the earthquake. Children who have lost their families, people who have seen their homes collapse ... Really, watch the television news about the earthquake is very sad.

Thank you very much for sending us the strength and remember to Chile! I am very happy to read what you wrote, with this gesture we can appreciate the valuable, compassionate and beautiful person you are.

God bless you and your voice! You're one of the people I most admire and hope to someday be a singer as successful as you!

    Best regards, Camila Araneda.
