Today Seth has tried to play drums for the first time with a really nice and great drummer who were kind enough to take some time and show him a little bit. He will also be Seths drum teacher when we have bought the drums for him;=)
Seth really thought it was so fun and he was really good at keeping the beat so maybe there is a drummer talent in there, who knows?
After the drum lesson, Seth and me went to the music store and tried out a pair of Yamaha d-drums since we cant have a regular drum set, living in an apartment. While there, I bought a new microphone cable and a keyboard cable to my studio equipment. The microphone cable we had was broken, but now we´ll hopefully get some sound going;=)
Now time for some story telling before my weight exercise. Today I do upper body and my stomach;=)

ReplyDeleteI did for a whole year. At the beginning it was not that easy but you manage to do some nice stuff after some hours. However, my teacher was not the coolest, hope Seth's will be nice with him!

You had a really good idea to buy it to him so he can exercise with it. I think that in the future is he will play well, if he likes it and if he engage himself he of course become a really good drummer. In his family (i mean you and Johan) are all musician, so he will. :)
How many days per week will he takes the next lesson? Let know us how is going in the net day! What are d-drmus?

When I was around 7-8 yo, I wanted to play drums, but my parents never agreed... So, I chose guitar.. But I still want trying drums one day =P
By the way, I heard today on youtube Ghost Love Score @ Paris... Whaou... I almost cry... Anette, you're a really great singer ! This version of Ghost Love Score was just... so perfect !

@ trisha6623 - My brother does that too! Only instead of being a drummer, he plays the bagpipes. He always has a pencil in his hands and "plays" songs on them.

ReplyDeleteI have two teenage kids one a composer/guitarist (going on to study music at Uni) and one who has just taken up the drums. She has to practice 30 mins per day! as we also live in an apartment I just ask that they dont play later than 8pm to spare the neighbours heehee no complaints so far! Seth is so fortunate to have a musical family and good luck to him with his drums (and other future instrumental experiments) You are a very cool Mum :)) Have a grt day Lee

ReplyDeleteI think it's a good choice to let Seth play drums. The earlier he begins, the faster he will be good at it.
I wanted to learn how to play drums, too, but 1. my family didn't allow it and 2. I was informed by my doctor that I have a problem with my back which makes it impossible for me to play such an instrument like drums. I can't sit for a long time without getting bad aches.
Now I play the keys, and I think it isn't that bad. To be honest, I love it ;)
