Solo songs!


Ok, so the surprise I teased you with is that I have created my own My Space page - Anette Olzon Official -for some songs from my demo I did in 2009. The songs are not mixed or produced, just recorded in the moment and therefore are very rough songs. But I still want you to hear them since I am proud of them and I think they show another part of me than you hear in Nightwish;=)

The first song is called Floating and I call it the "Cirkus"song. It gives me a happy feeling and the vibe in it is happy and joyful.

The second song is a song I wrote for my son and it´s very special to me therefore;=)

Tonight or tomorrow I will add another surprise song in there, will let you know when!

    Invincible is a lovely gift from a mum to her child. Floating is a very pretty, but very peaceful song too! Your voice sounds very sweet on these, well done!

    Honestly I thought the material was going to be more rock-ish. However I do like it! It's very light and relaxing. Your voice is shown from a completely different perspective. It seems that in Nightwish you have to do harder songs, everything is just louder and fuller. When I listen to this I can hear the beautiful, soft side of your voice and I must say I really like it! It's very different from what I thought it was going to sound like, but I really appreciate the surprise. Thanks so much for posting!

    Invincible is so great, I absolutely love it! And (if you need my precious opinion :D) Floating is a bit too rough and needs much more work.
    It's sad that you didn't release your album, but I think everything happens in right time. Therefore sometimes you just have to wait for it :)

    well, to be honest i don´t like both songs. But that´s ok. Noone has to love everything and no one has to be so euphoricly about new things just because it´s by you :)

    I like you more in the rock-genre.
    But of course you´ve got my beneficial and i hope your soloalbum will satisfy you and many fans

    Your songs sound not exactly like I expected them to but they're very nice.
    I like the atmospheric feeling they somehow have and your voice, you know, is just wow.

    Both songs have a kind, calming aura and show the soft, angelic tone of your voice what I really love to listen to. Sorry, I can't explain this better, but this is what I like in 'Eva' as well. And I hope we will get lots of it on Imaginarium. :)

    I think, I'm one of those Die-hard Metal fans...But since the beginning I was curious how your solo project, even if it's not metal, would sound. And tadaa. I love it! You're so right, Floating is a circus song :p very very cool. Of course there is much you can improve on Floating but I like it.
    And Invincible is an adorable song. So emotional :) Very well done!
    And now, I really can't wait to hear Imaginarium AND your solo album! Hope you will continue working on it soon.

    I think they're wonderful, its interesting to see such a different side to your voice! Some of the music in Floating reminds me a little of a composer I love called Joe Hisaishi and with your voice it sounds gorgeous!

    Excellent! This is definitely a nice surprise. The songs are "fresh" and they really give out nice vibes. I'm trying to imagine how they would sound if mixed properly and so on, they have a great potential. And I'm saying that as a person who generally doesn't like pop music or so. I also like how your voice sounds, it's a little bit different from Dark Passion Play. This makes me more confident and curious about Imaginarium as well :) Good job!

    They're adorable and very-very nice! And though they're just demos, I think there's a huge potential in them, so yeah, you should be proud of them :)

    pity you couldn't release the album in 2010 and therefore it has been postponed. I hope it will be released during the next NW vacation ;)

    I very much like the late Enya and 90's Madonna vibes in those songs, sound marvelous. It will be great to listen to some more songs of yours <3

    It just goes to show that it is good to have more than 1 genre of singing & more than 1 style, its great! I listen to lots of different genres not just metal or rock, i listen to all sorts, whatever i like :D

    Oh, this was wonderful to wake up to! The songs are so lovely! Floating is just so happy with sort of an airy feel that works amazingly well with the softer side of your voice.

    Invincible is one of those songs that can span across so many cultures and circumstances to touch hearts. That is one of the most amazing things about songs to me- though you wrote it for your son, the words and emotions can be applied to so many types of relationships without eclipseing any of the others, and be equally true and vivid for all of them, becoming a beautiful bridge between so many seemingly unrelated circumstances and people. The ability to write a song like that is the most amazing gift of writers, and it really humbles me to hear something like that.

    I can't wait to hear the other songs you've recorded! And if you could post the lyrics, that would be wonderful!

    Anette, these songs are amazingly beautiful and so positive! I don't know what style I was expecting for your solo stuff, but this wasn't it - and it's such a wonderful surprise! Kind of like Enya, but I much prefer your clearer style of singing. Your voice just gets better and better and better. I love these songs so much. Thank you for sharing them!

    Thank you so much, Anette!!! :) I just came home from work feeling kind of stressed (new job, lots to learn, my first evening alone = chaos), and after listening to your songs I actually feel that ok, I'm ready to get up after 6 hours and face another day at work! :)) "Floating" is my favorite, and it makes me feel like... floating. :)) So beautiful! I hope we'll hear the mixed album version once, but I really like this demo because your voice sounds so clear and natural...

    Though the songs are not ready yet,they still sound promising.Maybe little more ´´rocky´´ style so then I like more.Well,unless the songs is meaning to be that styles,maybe something else would be nice to add but they are good on that way too.

    Your voice is just a little bit different than on October and april.Maybe that difference is little bigger at times but anyway,fits good to the songs.

    Lovely, lovely songs, Anette. It's very daring and admirable of you to experiment with such different styles. I can't help but notice how beautiful and flowing your voice is, in these two tracks. Controlled, but also very serene and "sparkling". Youthful and very emotional. I'll be honest and admit the type of music isn't really my cup of tea, but I was very, very pleasantly surprised.
