Now time to sleep, tomorrow I have great things to do, among them going to the cinema and see the new Harry Potter;=)

Here comes some last words:

  10. I JUST CAME BACK FROM HARRY POTTER AND OHH MMYY GOD IT WAS AMAZING!!! :O

I fangirled over it so badly, I squeeled XD

Well, ya have to watch it to find out if ya like it. It was so packed at the movies, but me and my friend has (wisely) ordered our tickets so we just had to walk past the line while everyone glared at our backs. When it was over I was like: "SAY WAA D8" And now I'm suffering from lack of Harry Potter XD

  14. Good night, Nettan! And you remembered me from the last words from Bless The Child:

"Without innocence the cross is only iron,
    hope is only an illusion
& Ocean Soul s nothing but a name...
The Child bless thee & keep thee forever."

    Great Tuomas!

    also want to say this:

A mixture of sound and silence
Artistic release in time, the essence
    Alluring beauty avowedly delivered
At best, music is simply divine!

    Good music moves our hearts
    Great music cleanses our minds
    Let it all in

  28. Hey there :)

The quote you posted here, about life without music being a journey through the desert, it is so very true! It is amazing what power music has to make your life easier, to soothe the pain, allow you to vent the anger and frustration, make you feel all happy and bouncy, make you feel stronger even... I sometimes describe myself as "music addict", as music has a hugely important role in the way I lead my life. I'm sure you've heard it all before, but still, I would not be the same person without music and especially not without this last Nightwish tour. (long story and I will not bother you with it :)

Also, many of my teenage memories are related to a band from Sweeden actually, that is Roxette :) I still love to listen to their music. When I read about your last tattoo (which is beautiful I must add), I immediately thought of Marie Fredriksson and her song "Tro". Marie surely is an amazing artist in my eyes. Anyway, can I be a little curious, please? I was wondering, have you ever listened to Roxette or maybe Gylene Tider (did I spell this right?), and have you ever performed any song from Roxette?

As to the discussion about different genres of music, my only "standard" on which I choose the music I listen to, is: "if I find it good and it conquers me, I will listen to it." My CD collection is therefore quite varied ;)

    Hugs,
    Tanja

/PS: Whoa! Apologies for the length of my comment, I guess I got carried away a bit. *blush*

  30. I agree, I think when we can discuss this and not turn it into Anette vs. Tarja, when that wasn't even close to what it was about, then I will be happy to join in once we talk about it again.

Oh good, I'm seeing it tomorrow too!
    I have been waiting since
    the book(do you read them?)and I was
going to go today but the wait
was 2 hours in line when it was only 10 in
the morning! So I decided to wait
    until early tomorrow.
Should have saw it at midnight like
    every other teenager I know!:P

    Sleep well!

Yes, unfortunately this narrow-mindness will continue.. I agree.

Oh Harry Potter! I will watch this movie soon, as well. :)

  34. It seems the musical discussion is on the same level with Harry Potter films (among other movies based on books): some will not like it ("because the book is so much better and the director ruined the best scenes"), no matter if it's REALLY well done; some others will not take it too seriously.
Many people say they don't listen to band/singer because its genre, but they are first ones to criticize if their beloved favorite band changes something in the sound. It's very contradictory, isn't it? There is always a thing to complain like if they were the "owners" of something. It'll never end.

Btw, I just saw the new HP movie today, and loved! =) Have a good time and laugh there!

  37. Ooh, the new movie is finally here!! I got a chance to go to a screening a couple of days ago and it was really great. A little choppy, but there were so many things that were improved upon from the other films. I'm sure you'll like it ^.^ I'm going to see it again with my b/f probably on Friday since he didn't get a chance to come with us to the screening. That is if we can get tickets...

As for the music discussion... I guess you'd call me "narrow minded" by your standards. Heh.... I have an appreciation for different types of music and for the different talents out there but can only really listen to certain genre's without getting annoyed after a while. Most of my time is spent doing animation and if one of my favorite bands isn't playing in the background I lose my concentration really easily, though lately I've been able to handle classical music while working due to my b/f constantly having it on in his room. Go figure... But there are still genre's and artists and I just can't tolerate and get annoyed with really quickly. Doesn't mean that others can't listen to them, it's just not my cup of tea.

Well, that's my two cents on the subject. Hope you have a good night. Dream awesome and have fun at the movie tomorrow!

  38. Good Morning Anette,

I hope you have enjoyed your evening, let us know what you think of the Harry Potter film. He is not too well received so far and gets a lot of negative reviews (from movie critics, not from kids obviously). Lots of people say it is the weakest film so far.

    Have a nice Thursday!

  44. Goodmorning Anette,
thx for sharing your stuff about music. I also TOTALLY agree with you!
Music is for me something to enjoy, I can listen to it in whatever kind of mood I am. And I love different things, from metal to pop.

Thx for the pic of your nail polish (I asked you some days ago what kind of nail polish that u use, because it seems that it stays on quite long). So here I have my answer!

    Enjoy your day! Daphne

    **Let the music fly free!

  45. hi anette.
about music : i don't have lots of things to say... before listening metal, i was fans of lots of "pop artists" and i have no problem with that. i just love music, enjoying good cd and i really don't care if it's from metal bands or britney or an r'n'b artists ect... the music i'm listening must give me some feelings with the melody or the lyrics.

and then, it's a pity to see that my post is turning like that. i'm not an anette hater, i'm just sharing a point of view. maybe i understand the discuss in an other way first. but it was something i'd like to share, i write things honestly, just like the way i think and sometimes i can hurt or make people don't understand what i mean. it was the problem. with my english skills too.

ps : i'll go to the see the new harry potter too.

I dont know if i am asking my question in a good place?can anyone tell me where i can do that?
ps: tell Tuomas that i love him and want to marry him, hihihihi;)

  49. I love this quote ♥ good one and so true!

It's really strange for me, when I meet people who don't listen to music. In my dorm I lived together with two girls and they were always suprised why I listened to music so much.I did not do that all the time, but definitely much more than they did. I didn't disturb them of course, I used earphones but they assumed what I was doing and I could see they did not understand my fascination about music.
For me it's the other way around...I can't see how young girls in the age of 21 did not listen to music.I told them they must have some favourites, they only mentioned one or two songs and that was it. That was a weird situation because many times they made me feel like an idiot, I felt like it's a stupid thing to listen to music, just because they did not approve that "waste of time".
After that I had new roommates who did love music, and it was a huge relief, because I knew there was nothing wrong with me.

Music is one of the greatest things ever created. It helps me when I have low points, or it makes me feel alive when I am tired or bored. I need music while cleaning the house, or cooking...etc
And there are so many genres to choose from so there is always a song which fits my mood.

    ♥I can't imagine my world without music.♥

  51. Angela Gossow (Arch enemy vocalist) has made a statement which fits in here pretty well:

Q: Tell me about the music you listen to these days. Do you have any guilty pleasures among the contemporary artists?

Angela: "There is never any guilt involved – listening to a wide range of music is nothing I am ashamed of. So yeah, I might be listening to MORBID ANGEL, then BEHEMOTH and then Rhianna or some chilled out lounge Jazz. I am still the most metal woman you will ever meet.

    Ok my 2 cents:
I don't think being open minded is a unusual thing, most people are. Variety is the spice in life. Maybe in younger years it was like: "Heavy metal is the best, fuck the rest" but as years pass by people get more mature and develop bigger horizons. There's nothing wrong being proud to be a metalhead, but it's wrong to piss on everything else.

Ähm and i don't like Harry Potter, so i leave now. ;)

    Hugs and best regards
