  2. Oh, Anette - that is so beautiful :)

Sara Mingardo is fantastic, such a rich sound. I'm an alto myself, and Sara is one of my vocal heroines.

But the late Kathleen Ferrier is queen of all us altos! Do you know her? This is her singing a beautiful Northumbrian folk song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4WmEtXDTPo

  5. thanks, the song is beautiful. Haven't listened to something like that since I was 14 and practicing for a solo competition in the 8th grade.(that was a loooong time ago... 8 years to be exact)

I know that I've said it before, but I just love that you share so much with us, the fans.

You take so much time out of your busy day and life for us, and I really do apprieciate it, has the effect of causing me to evaluate whats going on in my life and think how can I improve what I'm doing.

You've already got me in touch with my inner 'girl' who was buried when I was 9(yeah, i admitted that) and through Nightwish, you've got me singing again, which I can't thank you enough for, also brought me closer to my uncle and father :)

    Hugs,
    Falyssa

  6. Falyssa: your words touch me. To hear that you started singing again is so wonderful;=) If you ever record something let me listen to it. And I love alto voices. I have been singing alto in the choirs now and then and I love the richness of the deeper altos. Have a wonderful day!

  7. Like a cover or something? I'd have to find some type of recording program.... I was trained as a first-soprano, so I still have that... style, which sounds a bit odd trying to sing along with Sahara or something, but when I AM doing something lower, say The Unforgiven three by Metallica, I don't sound half bad :)

If I ever do actually figure out how to record something and I'm not completely botching the notes, I would absoloutly LOVE to hear what you think.Larengitis bites, I know, I lost my middle range and have only gotten about half of it back :) thank you SO much for bringing that passion back :)

    Hugs,
    Falyssa

  14. Anette dear, if you like vocal classical music, you might like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4_yMZ3IBIY wonderful Renaissance lament composed by Josquin des Prez, it's so beautiful and ... exotic, you'll see what I mean!
Also, I think if you liked Anathema, you'll enjoy listening to the American band "VAST" (Visual Auditory Sensory Theater): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMqPxLSDTQs

  15. Thanks, Anette. I didn't know about Sara Mingardo.
    That was pretty relaxing =)

I don't know why, but this song reminded me about "Era - Ameno". I love this one with vampires pictures, eh eh.

  16. Hey Anette!

Sara Mingardo is very good, but I think you should listen to Era because they are very good and other singers like Laura Pausini or maybe Andrea Bocelli... I know that there are so many great singers in the world but no one(ok maybe one or two or more...:D) shows so much positive energy on stage...
I enjoy every gig I watch because you get the crowd going, you talk to them, you joke with the band and people and when you are in public you don't act like someone who thinks that is above all...
Ok enough of my sucking up to you... ;D

Lots of hugs and kisses from Ana

I was listening this like a minute ago and my mum came to me and was a bit amazed "Since when have you listened this kind of music?". She was surprized because I usually listen so heavy music and now I was listening to this. :D
