As I have told you we moved from my house to a nice apartment a couple of months ago. Its a perfect spot in the middle of the city centre and the apartment is charming and we really like it here.
BUT there is one bad thing here... down below an old man lives who has a son which is around 40 years old and this guy isnt totally stable. So he comes here in the early early mornings and hammer and scream and ring his fathers door bell. He hammers so hard that it sounds like the door is gonna break...
And this morning, just like any other he woke the whole house up at 7.30 with this...
Last week he stood screaming, hammering and ringing the door for one hour and then called the police, ambulance, lock smith and made them all come to open the door for him since he thought his father was in an emergency... well, the old man was not even at home...
Also our mail has been stolen from our mailbox in the hallway so now its time to have a lock on the box...
I love living in the city for its closeness to everything, but I do also miss the calmness of living in a small village in a private house...
Now coffee...
You should tell your local police station, and get several neighbours to do it too. Might put a stop to it ;).
ReplyDeleteI moved from the city to the country 3 years ago, and I've definately noticed a difference. People just leave their garages unlocked and leave bike in their front garden and they never get stolen.
But living in a city, you're hardly ever short of things to do and anything you want isn't to far away. (Shops, Bowling) ;)
Enjoy your day, Ryan.
Good Morning Anette,
ReplyDeletewhat an awful way to start a day. Asocial neighbours can really make your live hell, we moved because of our last neighbours, they were very noisy and unreasonable and our quality of life was nearly zero because we could not even sit in our garden to enjoy the summer, it was too noisy.
I agree with Ryan, you should do something about it. Try to talk to the man downstairs about the behaviour of his son and maybe the son, too. If this does not help, speak to your neighbours if they experience it the same way as you and go together to see them. Otherwise you can of course always complain to the police though I am not sure if they really do something about it.
Hope it all goes by soon and the rest of the day will be better than the start.
Enjoy your coffee,
Katrin
Wow thats crazy anette!
ReplyDeleteI used to live out in the country in california. One time on halloween some guy got drunk and fell asleep on our couch at 2 in the morning. Our dogs kept barking so i kept getting up to check on them but i didn't turn on that many lights. i got up 5 times and the whole time the guy was in my living room watching me from the couch. if i would have turned on the light i would have saw him. Next morning the guy is still on our couch. my brothers find him and tell my mom. my mom scares him off but the cops catch him. We did't press charges he got drunk and his friends drove him outto the country side and said he could stay in our house. We still have no idea who left him at our house. but it was scary that he was watching me the whole time in the darkness. AAAHHHH it still gives me the creeps.
Good morning Anette,
ReplyDeleteSounds kinda scary.. I would also probably go to the police..
I know how it is to live in a city:
During the three past years I lived in a big city in Belgium called Ghent. Only in the weekend I lived at home. It's because I studied in Ghent. There was also a lot of noice around me, in the middle of the night..
But I also liked that everything was sooo close and there are always stuff to do in a big city: love it!
At home I live in a small village surrounded by landscapes and cows, it's very quiet out here. But I don't like it very much, it's far away from everything.
Some years ago, there was a small forest near to my home, but they had to remove a part of it. It was to dangerous, because some weird and bad things happened in there like sex and drugs. It was better to avoid that place. Especially when you are alone or when it is dark. It's because it lies next to a restaurant by the freeway, many people stop there.
Today it's still not save to walk out there alone.
And I hated it as a child that everything was so far away. And that it was to dangerous to take my bike.
I'll probably move to another village in the future, that isn't that small. I prefer some more 'life' around me. And some less danger!
Have a great day Nettie!
Daphne
Anette you should not pay attention to this much, neighbors come go and there will always be a bad neighbor near around.
ReplyDeleteCity life are great the country is too boring. ;)
Anyway in the time of need you can always put on your Headphones and play a lovely song :)
Morning, Anette! Hope u r well!
ReplyDeleteThis is completely off, but... did you know that Britney Spears has been using Nightwish's "Fantasmic" in the intro of her shows? Here's a proof: www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8pS6DAXuP0
Nice, huh? =D
Wish u a wonderful day!
From Brazil.
Hi Anette,
ReplyDeleteOh this doesn`t sound good, but you know almost everywhere there are peaceful and calm neighbours but also crazy ones like the one you`ve mentioned.I hope that guy will calm down in the future.Wish you all the best and hope your coffee is good today =D
Hugs And Kisses,
Cristina
I'm glad I don't have to deal with a neighbor like that, but I do live kinda out of the way from the city. But if the man isn't mentally stable, it's hard to be mad though. It's terrible that he's bothersome to you and the other neighbors, but at least it's because he isn't stable.
ReplyDeleteI hope he gets help somehow, so you all can have peace and quiet
- Jake
Hi Nettie,
ReplyDeleteso annoying to wake up like that..
I would be in a bad mood if I woke up like that. Isn't there annything you can do the keep this man away from his father in the morning? I can image you needed a coffee.
I hope this didden't ruines your day.
Here in Belgium, the sun shines so I'm gonna take a walk in the woods :-)
I'm sure you have plans to, so enjoy your day!
Love and kisses

César: Thanks, I have sent the clip to Tuomas. Great news!;=)
ReplyDeleteGood morning Anette! =)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I live in an apartment and my neighbours from upstairs are always making noise.
You should put a lock on the mail box, then your mail will be safe =).
Have a nice day,
Hugs
Aaw thats horrible, I live in the Helsinki center and I have this crazy man living in the upstairs who sings, no he screeeaaams! plays the guitar and pounds his foot on the floor, and it sounds like he is hammering it. Its awfull cause sometimes he is doing it in the middle of the night.. :p
ReplyDeleteHave a good day sweet Anette!!!
Good morning Anette!
ReplyDeleteThoose neighbours should stop making loud noises.
And put a lock on your mailbox. :)
Have a great day
Love
Ena
Oh gods -- I have a similar situation with my downstairs neighbour! She's a middle aged lady with mental problems and she also drinks too much, then she obviously hears voices in her head and thinks they come from upstairs = my apt. She has sent me death threats for several years, a few times tried to kick her way through my door, yells obscenities every time I come across her in the stairs... I've even had to physically defend myself against her... O__O And, now she has a friend living with her, a drinking buddy who's just as crazy!
ReplyDeleteTold about this to a police friend of mine but she said that their hands are quite tied in situations like this -- if you don't have any solid, concrete proof, what can the police do? *shrug* Also, even if you call the police when the situation is "on", their arrival takes so much time the situation is probably "off" already when the police is there.
I'm afraid police is quite helpless in your situation too, but have you tried to simply talk to this old guy about his son? How his behavior annoys the whole rest of the house?
Living in the downtown can be... eh, "colorful" indeed... :-p
Oh Gooooooood, Britney using FantasMic as intro is so so so not right. :(
ReplyDeleteI hope the problems with the neighbour get over soon, Anette. I think you should maybe talk to the rest of your neighbours so that someone who is also as affected as you can go and talk to the guy and, if it doesn't work, go straight to the police for a complaint. I think being forced to wake up at 7.30 each and every day is just awful, there's nothing worse than starting the day because of the noise.
So dreadful!
ReplyDeleteI live in a little little town in detached house. And I like live here, but now I will move to city to apartment house after one month, because I go to study. That city is little too (maybe a little bit bigger than where I live now), but I have thought this apartment house case that there could be this kind of "mad" people :/ Hopefully not..
I´m a little bit scared, and I move to myself first time. Maybe I will be so paranoid :D
Solution: Take him to a Manowar concert. Tie him to a speaker and let him there the whole concert. He'll be the most silent person you ever met after that.
ReplyDeleteAnd have fun. :D
You sent the video to Tuomas?!
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be so wrong for 'im! I feel ashamed and I don't 'ave owt to do wi' it. LOL!
Anyway, 'ope you can come up with a solution wi' this neighbor, quiet annoying I bet. I loved the random ending 'bout the coffee.
Good Morning Anette
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day!
love
Isabelle
How horrible for you, Anette. I know how you must feel because I too lived in an apartment block with very anti-social neighbours. I got so ill with all the stress, and I was also scared for my life so I had to move away. I've now moved back home with my mum.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Good morning Anette!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your bad awakening. Must be really annoying. ...I love The Peacekeeper's solution to it - tie him to a speaker at a Manowar show :-D Anyway maybe you should really try to talk to your local police station or social operators and see if they can do anything?
Have you seen the vet for your sweet Gremlins? Have you found out what her problem is? I hope she feels better very soon!
Have a great day,
Elisa
Hiya Anette.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks :(
my next door neighbour has us all up at half 5 in the morning screaming and swearing at her kids :( my mum is so mad with it so she had to move her bed away from the wall.
Everyone gets an annoying neighbour.
Take care Lisa x
sry for not writing to you in the lastest post but yeah i like living in a city too but one thing which i don't like is the noise i tell to you i wish i could live somewhere over the mountains and rivers .that's all hey i watch you today in this morning the making of bbb and amaranth you guys are pretty and funny.take care raluca !
ReplyDeleteYou are right... Living in a house outside of a big city and living in apartment in th big city... BIG differee...
ReplyDeleteHi again ^^
ReplyDeleteOh i know exactly what you talk about, me too i'm surrounded by fools.... my uncle is not stable too, he is about 40 years he live with my grand-ma and i'm very afraid of him.
Then my neighbors have a no stable son as well, so as you can see you're not the only one xD
If i were you maybe later i will leave the flat if things are still not okay.
Take care <3 :)
I'm going to move from a countryside to a city too, so I'm bit nervous what kind of crazy people I get to be my neighbours...
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to you in this. I know exactly how you feel. Don't you just hate it when you try to live and act like one supposed to, then somebody else usually close to your floor can't just live without making everybodys life annoying. How hard it is to let people have a normal sleeping hours..
ReplyDeleteI really hope this situation of your will have a happy ending and you get to wake up nicely! :)
I've been living in an apartement since i was born, and when I went to my friends' who lived in a beautiful house, I couldn't prevent myself from thinking they had the real life! To me, definitely, a house is way better. Yet, it is hard to clean because usually bigger, and you have to be careful about storms and flood...
ReplyDeleteI hope this neighboor won't bother you any longer ;)
Lucinda
I'm so sorry to hear that You have problems with Your neighbor's son. I agree with folks here, it should be reported to police and someone should talk to the man. It's his son after all and he is in a way responsible for what is happening. IF his son has some mental problems.. he should be taken care of. Such unstable emotionally people can be dangerous! So please think about it and be careful!
ReplyDeleteI live in a building apartment on 4th floor and there was this apartment a floor below that had always horrible habitants. For years we had alcohol parties, people screaming, yelling and fighting in the middle of the night. It was horrible.. Luckily a good family lives there now.
Good luck with the neighbor and hope he will be taken care of.
*hugs*
Karo
Hej there,
ReplyDeletethat's really sad and bad to hear. of course you should report that the police because that have more weight then just talking talking talking. because then you talk til the end and nothing happens.
Take care
Henril
//Ellinor
Good morning!
ReplyDeleteWell I guess that is a bad thing about
living in a city...but I would be careful.
He could be really dangerous.
And I think you saying he isn't very stable
is putting that in a nice way.
Why doesn't people in the apartment talk
to his father? If it's
going as far as stealing your mail,
it's getting bad. But I would put the lock on
your mailbox and an extra for the door.
Hugs and love, Katie T.
Come on guys! This guy isn't stable!
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't need the police but a doctor!!!!!
He is not a mosquito, he has a soul and deserves someone who takes care of him.
Poor him!!!
Hope he won't cause himself or others more pain :(
Hellu Anette!
ReplyDeleteThere are many people like that guy in here where i live and of course i hate it. But if your one needs a doctor maybe people that do it here need to stop drinking. Lots of them are constantly being drunk. It's terrible. so....the best way for us is to have an own big house)that stays barriered from that people)
Inga
NETTIE!!!!! THE SOLUTION IS SO OBVIOUS, PLEASE SING TO THEM MEADOWNS OF HEAVEN,EVA, SLEEPING SUN AND THE LAST PART OF THE POET AND THE PENDULUM AND I SWEARE FOR GOD THAT THEY ARE GOING TO BE LIKE PUPPIES
ReplyDeleteWhat a crazy and scary man.
ReplyDeleteI hope that man stops annoying you all.
I live in a house, fortunately, my neighbors are not living here.
However, when they come to check if everything is all right with the house, they make so much noise, early in the morning also, they argue loud with each other, that's really annnoying.
Sorry for my English, eh eh.
Greetings from a fan from Brazil.
Take care.
Fábio
Wow, I gotta check the clip out...
ReplyDeleteAnd that seriously sucks, Anette. Sorta going through the same thing here right now, except it's my sister in law. She's gotten in my dad's face over some crap that she shouldn't have been doing and he got onto her for it *rolls eyes* hopefully she decides to be just a bit nicer... :(
Hugs,
Falyssa
Hello Anette!
ReplyDeleteIt's terrible...I'm afraid of people like this, because, you don't know when they get totally crazy...so avoid him, if you meet him don't look at him...
Take care
Jani
Dear Anette,
ReplyDeleteOnly a few days ago I discovered your weblog and I like reading your entries. I would like to respond to this entry. I have not been reading all of the comments to your entry, but some I did read seemed to be against what this man does or perhaps does not do. But... maybe he is concerned about his father. What if his father is the one who is not "totally stable"? Perhaps this man is worried when his father does not open the door or answer his phone. Maybe he thinks his father might have died or is in need of help. If so, he really does not care so much about waking up other people who happen to live there as well. Seriously, I am not trying to defend him or being mean towards you, but I do like to say that there might be a reason for his actions. And maybe he really is the unstable one. In that case: stay out of his way. ;-)
Yours,
Lisa
mmm,I feel lucky for not having such a neighbor.Usually,I am the one who annoys the others, you know loud music :S (I can't help it,I really don't understand that the music is loud so my mother has to come in and say it)
ReplyDelete
