Make up is something I have never been good at. I have always been that "natural" one that enjoys to be just without anything, but still I must say I love it when I get some nice make-up on and I especially love when a good make-up artist puts it on me. They just make the eyes look so good and the skin glow. Sometimes I think that I should go and take some make-up artist classes to learn more and that is something on my to-do list before next NW tour;=)
I searched for some nice make up photos and found these. I just love the golden one;=)
Are you good at putting on make-up?
I like the blue, pink/violett and black ones!
ReplyDeleteHmm, my friends say I'm good at putting make-up on, but I don't know if it's really true. I use day make-up for my face, but sometimes I think it doesn't look good enough. My skin is pretty pale and I need a good make-up that I can also use for going out etc. Is there something like that and that doesn't cost that much?
Im not good for doing make-up. Usually my friends will do my make-up because they dont want me to look like 12years, once we wanted to go to watch horrow movie but "You are absolute under 15!" though I'm oldest at our little group. I can do natural make-ups but thats all i got. Perfumes are my thing, I had almost 30 different smell :D
ReplyDeleteHow about you Nettan have you some favorite perfume and how often you use them ?
I'd love to bee a good to putting make-up on! Even simple "smoky eyes" is quite difficult to me(which is weird because I'm a quite good painter when it comes to watercolours... :D)
ReplyDeleteBut gladly there's a lot of tutorials in Youtube so I'm trying to learn how to make these cute, blue fairie make-ups.
I love the smokey purple one! You can do some amazing things with makeup.
ReplyDeleteI'm terrible at it. So I tend to live with just foundation, concealer and powder - but once in a while I use eyeliner, mascara and a gold shadow. I'd love to be more adventurous :)
Check out my blog and I guess you'll find the answer ;D
ReplyDeleteGoodmorning Nettie
ReplyDeleteI looooove make-up, it's even so worse that I don't come out the door without any make-up.I used to laugh with those people when I was a kid :)
I think I am a bit good, but not professional. I have done 1 short course to learn more and on youtube you can find lots of great courses from pro's like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWIk5c7jRuw
I have learned a lot from those! :)
And I love to experiment a bit with make-up, trying it out at home.
I have always the same problem, I prefer "soft" make-up but to put at face everyday the same colour it's not for me. I love to explore more possibilities. My friends say, that I am good, but it is always different when you have to make make-up yourself or to another person. But honestly, I don't know
ReplyDeleteThose look really great ^.^ I absolutely love make-up and doing different things with it. In high school I actually studied hairdressing for 4 years and we learned how to do hair, make-up, and nails. Lately I've been thinking of updating my portfolio so sometime soon I'll probably get a bunch of girls together and a photographer and make a day of just doing hair and make-up for all of them ^.^
ReplyDeleteAs for me personally: these days my schedule is so hectic that I just go natural anyways. It's probably for the best, though. My b/f likes it better when I don't wear make-up and it's better for the skin.
But hey... If you need a make-up artist for the next tour, let me know! ^.^
Good moring :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I really liked the blue one!
I'm not good at putting on make-up, the only things I use is mascara and eyeliner, maybe because I don't need any thing else though, and in the summertime, I don't use nothing!
Hope you have a good day :)
Hello Anette :)
ReplyDeleteI'm crap at putting on makeup.... I can do mascara nicely, but when it comes to fancy eye stuff, im uncomfortable with it... may experiment for halloween, though :P
Hugs, and all my love,
Falyssa
Jangsara: I just had a peek at your blog, and you are amazingly talented. I loved your confidence with vibrant colours and incredible detailing - like your northern lights eye.
ReplyDeleteAnette: You must go look at her blog! Next time you play Finland, get Jangasara to do your makeup :)
Jangsara: Wow! Now I will follow your blog and try your make-ups;=) You are incredibly talented!
ReplyDeleteI love the black make up. I'm not talented in the art of make up, but, I love try new make up. Go in some shops, buy a lot of things and try them... I love it !
ReplyDeleteI love doing my make up i live in eye liner <3 people always comment on my eyes, I'd love to try other styles but i might scare the customers lol
ReplyDeleteJangsara: holy crap! jeez, I need lessons from you myself (sorry for posting this in your blogspace, Anette!!!)
ReplyDeleteJangsara: your make-ups are amazing! You have some incredible talent and artistic vision -- you don't happen to be a pro make-up artist by profession? ;)
ReplyDeleteI can do a decent job with make-up if I can be bothered -- I love to try all exciting and exotic eye shadows, nail polishes and whatnot but on regular workdays, I'm far too lazy and busy to spend an hour in front of the mirror ;)
I've also noticed that my skin has become horrendously dry now when I'm over 30 -- quite a pain to find a proper foundation or to get eye make-up to look decent! What has helped though is to get eye shadows that are really heavy on pigment -- they "stick" even on drier skin and don't flake off so easily. What I'm also planning to do is to get those pigmented eyeliners (you know that technique which is like a "light" version of tattooing) -- had my brows done last Spring and that was the best decision ever, make-up wise! Saves both time and especially nerves ;)
Oh and hi Karoliina -- I've seen your comments here but wasn't sure if you were the same person. Heheh... quite a social media Anette's blog has become ;) Can't wait to go out together again, either! :)
I am the worst person in this world for make-up =XX.
ReplyDeleteI dont really enjoy it, just natural colours and nothing more. But some make-ups are so beautiful and I love seeing it. I have a friend who is maker and he does incredible things that I want to learn sometimes.
Love,
Carol
Morning Anette,
ReplyDeleteI love make-up its magic ;) It can make you look like a butterfly by day or a mysterious temptress of the night hehe ;)
My favourite out of all the make-up i have (too much haha) is a "Shiseido Maquillage" eyeshadow & vibrant blush palette its lovely soft shadow with high shine & sparkle, you only have to put a bit on & its lovely (not to heavy) & sparkly kinda of an ice queen look for winter you can get from this.
I must confess it was bought for me as a gift but i did find the website, you can try to have a look if you want to it is all in Japanese but if you can find your way around the website there are some really nice things on there to look at =)

Have a lovely day Anette

@Jangsara: You're amazing! Can I ask how do you manage to draw eyeliner so perfectly?
ReplyDeleteI'm no good with make-up either, which is why I don't wear it much. But I do like doing swirlies with eyeliner http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn106/hiljaisen_susi/DSCF2892.jpg
ReplyDeleteHej Anette!
ReplyDeleteI once thought that you are professional make-up artist ;) I like it natural too, I don't make-up anymore unless I'm going to a bar or something like that. I can't really make-up correctly but I try to hide the unpleasant things.
Hello Nettie =) How are you???
ReplyDeleteI like that black make up on the picture.
But you look great with or without make-up =)
Wish you a lovely day!
Love
Ena
Hii Anette =)
ReplyDeleteI reaally like the before last and the last ones.
I am fairly good at doing my own make up, since I really love doing that.
All the colors, long lashes and stuff.
But I cant apply it on others ;p, thats something id like to learn as well.
Have a nice day
Love, Lisa<3
I don't know if I'm any good at applying make-up. I don't like to wear too much. Usually eyeshadow and eyeliner with some lipstick. I also wear foundation because I don't have very good skin. When I was a teenager in the 80s I used to wear more. Some of it must have been dreadful. I remember blue eyeliner and mascara, as well as pink eyeshadow. Now I just stick to black eyeliner and grey eyeshadow.
ReplyDeleteThose look really cool.
ReplyDeleteI'm good at make-up I have to say.
I love mixing colours and how I put them on,
I get a lot of compliments on that ability.
I've done a lot of my close friends' make-up
for parties or dances and things like that.
Not a lot of people pay attention to this-
but you can't just wear whatever
make-up looks good with your outfit-
sometimes you can and it looks nice,
but you have to know what colours
will match and bring out the colours in your
complexion/skin tone, hair, and eyes.
That's when it looks really good and then
people also tend to notice other things
about you- if you do your eye make-up
right you can get a lot of compliments
on your eye colour. Not very many people with dark eyes can pull off blue eye-shadow.
But you don't want the colours that match
your eyes, because then it drowns it all out.
Hope you have a nice day!
Hugs and love, Katie T.
i don't think that I'm good in make up, but i know how to be beautiful for a bit ;=)
ReplyDeletewhat about colors, i like classic make-up and smoky-eyes <3
this is my photo :=)

and also I wanted to present you one of the last of my still-life)) I'm a photographer... I would to sent you this photo by letter... can I do it? my e-mail is dove0603@mail.ru. if you want to see some my pictures maked be me, please send me a letter!)))
I think I'm average good lol, depends on if I've drink my coffee before or after. I know what suits me or not, but I'm not an expert, and I wish I could do artsy things like the pictures you posted. :)
ReplyDeleteI like that blue, black and violet ones :)
ReplyDeleteI think I'm average in make up, I can put mascara and powder and etc, and I know what color fits with blue or brown eyes, and how to put those to make eyes look bigger :) I started to use make up daily in school when I was 16, and I've improved my skills a bit from that.
Anette, you're beautiful either you have make-up or not, natural beauty, and that's a gift :)
Hope you'll have a great day today :)
Lot's of love, Emilia.
i am actually good at putting makeup on, but i don't have one of those faces that can suit any makeup so i can't do anything like in those pictures sadly!
ReplyDeletei love putting it on though...the easiest things to wear are eyeshadows, and a really light powder foundation like l'oreal true match minerals. my eyes are blue so i normally use colours like this which are the easiest to wear and look really pretty and girly:
http://www.sephora.com/assets/dyn/product/P166063/P166063_hero.jpg
i have this palette, it's urban decay. the pale pinks and champagne colours are the nicest, with a flick of liquid eyeliner...a really easy to use one is bourjois 'liner feutre' which is like a felt-tip pen. :)
you have quite catty eyes (this is a good thing!) so you would really suit flicked-out eyeliner i think.
because you have grey eyes you could wear just about any colour, and you could probably pull off very dark smokey eyes well, with big flicks. :)

also, here is a makeup brand i recently discovered that you might like, it's reeeally dramatic and theatrical and has some amazing looks on the website:

Hi Anette,
ReplyDeleteFor everyday makeup I usually do the basics...boring! I'm really good at doing Halloween makeup... :0)
I love makeup but never get the chance to really do something special like you can have done. The pics are great...it's a real art to do makeup like that....
I was also more brave when I was younger to do a variety of colors...
Have a great day!!
(((HUGS)))
Christine
oh, Anette, now I see that my pictures are not able to open... I try again now :=)
ReplyDeleteI think it will be right and easy, if you come to my blog here)))
I will create post with photos specially for you
Kisses

ReplyDeletethere is a post for you, Anette!!! With photos!! Look, please!! I very much worry and I worry)))
and once more my e-mail dove0603@mail.ru
or write comments for me... It is so importent for me ;=(((
Hej Anette!
ReplyDeleteI especially like the purple make-up in the picture =)
I am quite good at putting on simple, light make-up, since it's the style that best fits me (in my opinion, at least). I've never really tried heavy make-up or make-up artworks, but I'd like to learn and I feel I could be quite good at it since I like to be creative and I'm quite precise when it comes to work on small details =)
Like you, I generally prefer to go with very little make-up or none at all, but on special occasions it's also nice to try different colours and shades on your face =) As a rule, I think that a good make-up highlights a girl's beauty in a natural way, so that she won't look so different when she has no make-up (don't know if it makes any sense!) ;-)
You are so beautiful and creative and you can try any kind of style and make-up, it all looks great on you! =)
Much love,
Elisa
Hi Anette. :)
ReplyDeleteThose photos look very nice, I wish I would be able to put on makeup like that!
Well actually I don´t know if I could do it or not...I´ve never really tried. I´m artistic person, so maybe with lots of practice I would succeed. The problem is that I´m very lazy when it comes to makeup, so for me it means only cover stick and face powder, maybe sometimes rarely lip gloss. I think that during my life I´ve owned only one mascara so far, how pathetic is that? :D But I´m lucky because I have rather dark eyebrows and longish eyelashes so I don´t necessarily need makeup to make them look decent.
And I have to admit that there has been many occasions when I have been very grateful that I don´t wear much makeup. One example was Nightwish´s show in Kaisaniemi, Helsinki in the summer 2008. I don´t know if you remember it or not, but we had a "pleasure" to enjoy a nice thunder and rain/hail storm while we were waiting for your gig to start. A weather like that and beautiful makeup don´t really fit well together...
I think I'm decent at putting on makeup. I like to play with colors of eyeshadow and do crazy things every once in awhile so I have gotten okay at it. Some of the professional eyeshadows are so pretty, though. I wish I could do stuff like that and make it look right. lol
ReplyDeleteI love the photos =)
ReplyDeleteWell, I only put some cover stick nd some face powder an my face. And of course some eyeliner. I don´t need Mascara because I have dark brown and long eyelashes ...
1 year ago I went to a make up artist and that make up was really beatiful but it was too much make up and that wasn´t I =|
But make up isn´t so important how some people think.
Hope you enjoy your day !
All my respect, love, big hugs and many kisses from Austria,
Laura
The blue one is great;)
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I'm a big newbie in make-up, I just can't do anything but painting my lips and eyelashes=) Nothing more. Besides, I have a very sensitive skin and I'm just afraid to use some powder and tonal cream, and what about blushes, I have quite good natural color.
I would like to get a professional make-up one day, make a great photosession and then remove it not to harm my skin;)
Do you use a lot of make-up during the tour? And how does this affect your skin?
With love,
Kira=)
Hi Nettan! I usually love doing my make-up and, if I don't get in to art academy, I'll go to make-up school. ^^
ReplyDeleteOh, I like the purple, blue and grey-black ones from the pics. They're..sensitive ))
ReplyDeleteAs for me, I think I'm good at putting make-up but it depends on many things. Like whether you've slept good and your face looks fresh, or your eyes feel themselves very badly or sleepy and just don't want to have any mascara on them, so all your attempts to at least put mascara correctly and without lumps just fail :))
I would like to experiment with the colours of make-up more, but my skin is too white for it)
and, btw, I'm thinking about eyelash extensions, I mean, natural ones. Just to make eyes look more expressive. 'cause my own eyelashes are very straight and no mascara can make them look curly (
Hope you have a nice day :)
With love, Lerren
I'm really bad at putting make up too.. And I would love to do a course. I really dont like wearing make up that much, but I love the way make up can look and I'd like to do a coursew to work with theatrical make up and stuff.. I have a friend who works in a Theme Park and he does some really cool stuff to look like zombies and stuff and I'd liek to learn that.. But.. Right now I'm so busy with work and college, I don't have the time or energy to engage something like this =/
ReplyDeleteI think you should do a course. It would be great.. (But can I confess something? I like you better with no make up at all.. You look stunning totally natural).
Hugs
Cool makeup photos, Anette. Thanks. I can only do my eyes up. I've very sensitive skin and break into bad rash that brokes open my skin. It's terrible! I've gone to fancy digs with my husband, the black tie events and had my makeup professionally done because I cannot do anything other than my eye makeup. What a terrible mistake that was...it was my first time. I was a mess the next day and had to see a doctor to get some cream to help the pain and healing. My husband is a in his second year residency and it helps to know people by which I got good treatment and no scarring!
ReplyDeleteSo now I make my grand entrance pretty plain but people say I have good skin for my age, which I will not reveal! I'm a jeans and jumper kind of girl and absolutely hate wearing fancy dresses! It,s not so good having to go to all these kinds of events. So many tuts, tuts...it makes me really want to puke! I don't fit in at all.
Hey Anette!
ReplyDeleteI really really like to play around with make-up and I have a lot of ideas each time, but I haven't gotten the chance to practice so much lately, since school starts very early each morning and I have to be ready to go at 6.30 and I'm SO not willing to sacrifice 15 minutes of sleep in order to get a sophisticated make-up. :-)
Anyhow, whenever I go out or have the time to do something more complex than just eyeliner and a monochrome look, I really like to blend eyeshadows, neutral shades with more colorful ones, occasionally glitter as well.
I also have a suggestion for you to get inspiration from. There is an user on Youtube, a lady who is fantastic at make-up tutorials, she sometimes even does them on request and she has many many movie/clip/celebrity-related looks.
http://www.youtube.com/user/panacea81
Here she is.
Thanks for the pictures and have a great day!
I absolutely love make-up and experimenting with it! I don't always have to buy new products just to try new things; just combine a lot of things with each other. Though the other day I did spend 30 euros on make-up while I should've saved it.. but whatever :) I hope someday I'll be good at the 'extreme' make-up, kind of Lady Gaga and what you showed at these pictures. For now I try to keep it normal but colorful (depends on the clothes that I'm wearing, too) and special, unique and just a bit different :) Make-up courses would be great, if you decide to follow one, I'm very curious about it :D take care xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Anette, I love makeup, always have since I was a little girl when I would go to the store with my mom instead of going to the toys section I would go straight to the makeup one, I love eye-shadows the most I think I have a little obsession with eye-shadows =). I wouldn't say I'm great but I consider myself pretty good, I've learned a lot through the years practecing and not so recently with tutorial videos on youtube, here are three girls who do tutorial videos; kandeejohnson, I love her videos she's such a fun person and does very beautiful makeup, I know someone already mentioned Panacea81 I like her a lot too, and xsparkage she is also great.
ReplyDeleteI like to wear a bit of makeup (brown so it looks more "natural" on me). I am not good with the fancy eyeshadow stuff though... I would love to have a makeup class =) That would be so fun and amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteMake-up makes us shine, that's the truth.
ReplyDeleteIt brings brightness to our eyes, and give us that beautiful light of a fresh skin, although sometimes I'm too lazy to put it hihihi
I've done some courses, and in my opinion it was the best money I spent. I had a lot of fun, I felt more beautiful, my self esteem grew, and honestly there is no better medicine to that day you are feeling down, than wear nice clothes and a beautiful make-up.
You feel more powerful with these little things... it is just amazing.
But make no mistake, as everything in our lives it requires a little practice, so you have to take some time at home and put up the make-up, try the colors and blends. A good eyeline isn't the easiest thing to be done ;)
You definitely should try it, I bet you'll have a lot of fun with yourself, especially when you make so many mistakes that your eyes look more like a panda bear than any other thing...hihihihi
I'm not a make-up artist but I can give you some ideas of blends, I'm always trying something new or different. And I also like to find the best designs for each type of face, it makes a huge difference when you know to respect the formats and shapes.
There is a very good tip when you think about make-ups. Use the oposits, so if you have a light skin, you should try darker colors and blends :)
Lots of hugs
I love make.....i'm a make up artist
ReplyDeleteit's gonna be really good take some classes, you will love it
hugs from brazil

ReplyDeleteHere's that darn link I was trying to get to you...I didn't mean to put it here but since it worked I'll leave it.
MAC is the bomb. I am a nurse, work 12 hour shifts, if you use the shade stick shadows and then apply the MAC shadows over them, they stay until you remove them. They don't crease or smudge. Use the MAC 266 angle liner brush to get the fabulous affects under the eyes, the 213 for the eye lid, and the 224 for contour and drama. Sorry if I am repeating what someone already told you. Her shadow and liner looks would look great on you. You don't need such dark liners, the lighter sparkly colors from nature would look so stunning with your blond hair and your clothes. Also on maccosmetics.com all of the looks have instructions. But I like Jangsara's better!
