Tired eyes

Oh, my eyes are so tired today..I sat up quite late to finish the lyrics and then I woke up to early, but I will get some coffee to wake up;=)

Someone asked me if any of the NW boys are gonna be involved in my album and yes, I have already asked Emppu to play a song so that will be nice;=)

Another question was what I think of when writing the lyrics, my inspiration. I am a bit of a gloomy lyrics writer so I usually pick some hard or sad events in my life and then transform them to a lyric.

Now time for some breakfast and then I need to write some more lines of lyrics and then we hit the studio again. Will report in the evening again;=)
till then, enjoy the day!

  1. Good luck :)

I`ve always wondered how people can write songs, poetry etc... Where they get the inspiration? And it seems like it`s sooo easy to wtite.. But how?
I can`t.. I don`t know why... I can`t.. just sat down and start writing... Sometimes I want to.. but when I took a pen... nothing.. just empty in my head..
I`m so sorry for my bad english... I`m still learning:)

    Hugs and kisses

  4. Yay! I am getting rather excited about your album. Can't wait to hear what it's like. Drawing on past events that have been sad or hard usually makes a song really powerful and reaches a lot more people - it's a form of comfort those who are having a difficult time because it's nice to know that someone has felt the same way at some point, especially if it's someone you idolise. I hope you get to write some truly incredible songs and have a lot of fun =) It must be nice to be in a studio again

    Love Nolla

i always thought that nightwish is a bunch of workaholics (no offense, that's a wonderful thing: D), and now i can see, that you fit in this band sooo very well; ))
can't wait to hear your voice again!^^
    hugs: )

  6. Good Morning Anette!

Yes that tired eyes, I know them and also fighting with that- even that it is much later now but well, it was late yesterday, we were rehearsing also.

Ah, that songwriting is a tricky thing. I wish you good inspiration and ideas with that!!
I just started lyricswriting not so long ago- but I always use to write for a melody that someone of the band composed. The person tells me in which mood he was during the composing process, or in which he was thinking and then I try to form it in words. But I don't find it easy to say everything you want and that the words also match into the whole melody. The first lyrics I invented were very unstructured for that and we even had to change the melody...- Are you also writing the lyrics after the melody exists? Are you inventing the whole melody? How much possibilities to change anything afterwards do you have?
Oh, sorry for the long blog!
    Good luck!
    Best wishes,
    Lisa

  9. Nice to hear songwriting is going well! :) Wishing you lots of creativity and productive days there in Stockholm, and thanks for keeping us updated! **hugs**

(And now, when hearing how you write your lyrics, where you get the inspiration from, just thinking of all that process just reminds me how much I miss creative writing myself ;) Thanks! ;) After this D.Sc is finished, then I'm free to return to that as well... ^__^ Ah, tired eyes after spending the whole night absorbed into texts.... how does that sound so familiar... ;) )

  10. Awwl, sorry to hear that... I've been trying to learn 'Wishmaster' for quite a while, and for some reason, I wasn't able to understand the verses the way they were printed in the album booklet, which led me to writing them out... it actually helped :)

Sorry, that was really, really random :P

I think it's totally awesome that you ARE able to write lyrics, the one song that I've been able to write was/is pretty much a 'F*ck you!' aimed at my ex... dunno if it would ever get put on an album, since I can't even hear a vocal-line for it... ah well, guess it's just something to work on :P

    Hugs, and all the best

  11. Hello Anette,
    ahh! our friend the coffee!
It's sure that you should be tired but at the same time so happy!
Emppu will play a song! It's "Erinomainen!". We see Emppu so funny but above all, a lot of feelings and emotions emerge when he plays the guitar! Same thing for your voice!
    Take care of yourself! :=)
    Have a nice day
    Hugs ;=)

  12. Good morning, Anette!

I get tired eyes too. I guess it's because I read too much, and I'm always at the computer. I'm a gloomy lyrics writer too. But that's just the way I am.

Good luck with the songs and recording. Have a great day!

  14. I write poems sometimes and they usually are inspirated from sad or bad things. I always need some kind of inspiration to write one. I can't just sit down and write a poem, you know, if someone just asks me write I can't get anything out because I need certain mood.

I once tried to do a song. Hihii.. I wrote the lyrics very fast but when I had to compose the song I was so stuck. Eventually I had some kind of "melody" but it was like some children's song with hell of serious lyrics! :D Maybe I should leave the composing thing to more creative people and just stick with the poems ;)

Anyway, glad to hear how things go in there :)

  19. Oh, i almoust forget to thank you Anette. :-)

Few days ago i had a very very sad day. I was on my friends funerals, who was only 18 years old. He died on a terrible car accident. That day was full of saddness and misery. The worst thing was that you can't say anything what could make the parents feel a little bit better. Just unbelieveabe to see the mother who broken she is..

So thank you, Anette, for giving us a chance to read this blog and sharing your thoughts. No matter how bad day i have it's always cheers me up to hear about your day and your thoughts!

  28. So you write lyrics? yey =) I've been writing for the past six years, sometimes it's hard and sometimes it just...floats =)

  29. Ohh, will Emppu play a song? That will be really cool, I love his playing =)

    Good luck!
I think writing lyrics is not that easy, so I wish you lots of inspiration and ideas.
Hard and sad events are my inspirations too to write poems, also the things I like. But I have quite difficulty to write what I feel in the paper.

I hope you are having a great day =)

  30. To EWEMERI...I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I also know this loss of someone so young as well. Same age and car accident too. I just had to confront it only a few days ago again.

For some the pain goes away after a time, but for others it never truly goes away. Guilt for not seeing her more often and not telling her how much I love her before she was taken from us.

Some people write about their feelings and draw on those emotions, but I prefer my writing to be about something else as a way to escape my experiences not to be reminded of them and why I wrote my peice.

I guess it's different for others and everyone has their thing.

Bad week for me, but I always keep hope that it will be better.

Good luck with the singing, Anette.

  32. Hii Anette =D

Good to hear from you =) (well, ive been away for a while so..;p)
I cant wait to hear the new songs and the lyrics of course!
    I hope you're doing great =)

I'm doing less good, you know I told you about that I was hit in my face and broke my jaw?
Well, now I went to the docter again for a checkup and it turns out that the nerves in the left side of my face from the jawbone to the eyebrow are severely damaged.
The only thing I can feel there now is pain in the bone.

(sorry for bothering you, but you said to keep you updated so...=) )

    Lots of Love, Lisa <3
