Saw a really good movie last night, Knowing, with Nicholas Cage. It was very very good and I can surely recommend it;=)
I felt "good" after it in a weird way and positive for the future.
5 out of 5 from me;=)

I felt horrible after watching this movie. It left me with a weird thought of
ReplyDelete"What if we all had to die tomorrow? There's still so much to do in this life!"
...but it also left me inspired for this years Nanowrimo, where I will write a natural disaster story connected with the moon, turtles and the Hopi.
I saw Knowing in cinema, so the disaster scenes were unexpected and very intense, like the airplane thing. I'm normally fine with death on screen and/or horror, splatter and zombies, but Some of the pictures... eek!
It was okay on the small screen, tho. No more ugly feeling, just a fascinating movie.
thank good i'm not alone when it comes to sleeping late, as hwell, it's saturday and you're worth to do it :-)

ReplyDeleteI also woke up late, here in Brazil is 11:00 AM. I love waking up late, I think it's because I woke up early in my childhood and now all I want is to enjoy the sleep haha ;-)

I haven't watch Knowing yet, but I heard that some of special effects are great and the story is very catchy, though there are lot of absurds.

I didn't get to bed last night until after
1 in the morning, then I got up
around 9 this morning but I'm not tired.
It's weird. I had that happen the day
before I went to get my schedule
at my new school. I think it might be
because I moved and changed schools
and I'm probably just nervous
or excited or something.
Yeah, I didn't feel all that positive
after this movie, I was kinda freaked out and
a little sad. But I saw it this
past summer and I thought the concept of it
was a good storyline and the
effects were awesome. But Nicholas Cage is
an amazing actor, he's very convincing,
and really gets you into the movie.
I can't wait for "National Treasure 3",
because I loved him in the first two.
Have you seen the newer version of
"The Day the Earth Stood Still"???
Really amazing movie.
If you liked this one, I recommend you
seeing that, I think you would love it.
I can't wait to see "2012" though-
that movie looks intense!

ReplyDeleteI saw that movie in my birthday with my friends and it gave me mixed feelings about liking it or not...
The first part with the disasters is amazing, very well done and with a great story and effects...
For me, the second part ruins the movie, I really didn't like the whole "aliens come to pick those kids to save manking" thing...
But hey, we can't all like the same things... :)
If you have the time, go see "The Soloist"... It has a lot to do with classical music and it is also a great movie...

I saw Knowing in the cinema and it was really intense. (I'm going to say the things I want to say in a general way, so I don't ruin the movie for the people who haven't seen it yet) Let's put it this way: many things and events in the movie are unexpected and you can't always be sure whether they're good or bad. I would surely recommend it too ;)

ReplyDeleteAbout the movie, I watched it weeks ago, though the subject is quite trite the story line is well developed and if it helps to make people aware of the inminent natural disasters we'll have to face if we don't stop global warming, is so very welcome. Also I have to say that the visual effects are just awesome! The airplane scene is fantastic!

Oh, I love "Knowing". I saw it a few months ago, and I really enjoyed it, despite it not being the type of movie I usually watch. It really gets you thinking, though.

I saw that movie while it was still in theaters, I LOVED it, and wanted to cry when Caleb got taken by the alien-people.
ReplyDeleteNicolas Cage is one of my favorite actors, and this was no exception of excellent acting and story-telling.(of course, I also have a thing for end-of-the-world movies)

Vad skönt att ha fått sova ut. Själv sov jag bara ~5½ h efter att ha varit ute och festat med ett kompisgäng. En av mina vänner åker till Thailand på tisdag och ska jobba där i 7 månader, så det var hennes avskedstillfälle. Men som tur är får jag sova hur länge jag vill i natt!

Hi Anette! I watched this movie this last summer and I really liked it. Of course, the ending gave me a sad feeling (I don't want to write any information or spoiler that may reveal the end, in case anyone hasn't watched it yet). All I can say is that, I liked it and it was worth the time.

Saw the movie a month ago, and it rocked! I wish it would have ended up differently, though... I think I'd have preferred a less - scifi ending :) However, the airplane scene is AMAZING! Did you notice how long the scene lasts without being cut?! Incredible!

ReplyDeleteI saw that movie in theaters, loved it. What I think is funny is that some people say they don't like it cuz it's about aliens...umm no actually it's not. If you pay attention it will tell you what it is. I won't say more though, don't want to ruin it for those who may not have seen it. :)
