Hey Anette,
ReplyDeletethis song is from their album "Evocation I- The Arcane Dominion" and there are two versions of it. One is the acoustic and the orther a more metal tuned one. I love both and the people from the band are really nice. They live a complete natural life in wood houses, without tv and things like that.
Wish you a wonderful day. Thanks so lot for keeping your blog up.
Cheers from Germany,
Marco
I forgot: the language is old celtic :-)
ReplyDeleteBand is from switzerland...
Eluveitie is truly amazing! Especially live... They play all their instruments live (a lot of people on stage!) and the energy they radiate while playing is just WOW!
ReplyDeleteOmnos is from their acoustic album. Normally it's more folk metal.

ReplyDeleteOmnos is from their acoustic album, so normally they play folk metal.

"The lyrics are often in the extinct language Gaulish." says Wikipedia - just so you know =)
ReplyDeleteEluveitie are great live, I saw them on this years Masters of Rock in CZ. Though they didn't play the one song I wanted to hear: "Slania's Song". Best one in my opinion. <3
really a beuatiful song. all the folk songs are really great because you combine sth traditional with modern music and you put a touch of your heritage in it which makes it so special.

Thanks to Eluveitie I've decided that I'll learn how to play the tin whistle (instrument like flute) and now I'm pretty good I must say and can play songs by Eluveitie, which I really like. I think you'll like song "Brictom" as well.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm off to school,
ReplyDeletebecause it's picture day I have to
leave early, but I promise,
I will listen and comment on the song
when I get home! :)
But you should listen to this rock
group called Halestorm,
their song "Familiar Taste of Poison"
is amazing! They'll be at X-Fest,
which is a metal festival we have in
the states during the fall.
If NW is ever here during that time,
you should either play at it,
or go to it! A LOT of people come!
Hugs and love, Katie T.
Have a beautiful day Anette =)

You can enhance your pictures for free and add some very cool effects to them aswell!
I hope this helps.

anette hello again!! i also discovered this song but i knew not to hooked xD!! very good choice , congratulations on your blog kisses :):)
ReplyDeleteHi Anette,
ReplyDeleteI've search on a site (wich name is Wikipedia)Eluveitie's origins. It's a Swiss folk/Melodic Death Metal band and if you don't know what the band says, it's because they're Swiss. It's the same thing with a Japanese Punk band wich name is Maximum The Hormone, we don't know what they says. They speak Japanese and English.
Well, Now you know Eluveitie's origins and have a nice journey ;)
Bye bye \m/
Hejssan!
ReplyDeleteI must say that this song is a nice change to the music I usually listen =) I have a tendency to listen just metal or dance but I never listen to something like this. So thanks for this!
Hey, this is awesome! I like folkish/tradicional music/instruments. Thank you for the post :)
ReplyDeleteThere's a band from Ireland witch I love to listen called The Corrs. Maybe you know this group. They merge traditional Irish music with pop/rock. That's why I love this type of music :)
Take care,
Fábio
Okay, back from school,
ReplyDeleteand I must say I can't understand it either,
but it sounds amazing!
Hugs and love, Katie T.
WAU! This song is nice and exotic, me likes :)
ReplyDeleteThanks from it! :)

ReplyDeleteyou said that you don't understand the lyrics: here're the original lyrics and the translation
Immi daga uimpi geneta,

English Lyrics:
Girl: I am a fair, pretty girl, full of virtue and youthfulness. The forest's flowers and songs I love.
Wolf: Hey, pretty young girl, what are you doing in the forest alone, so far from all beings?
Girl: Hey, handsome boy, come here! Let us pick some flowers in this forest together!
Wolf: I am not a boy, I am the bad wolf. In the woods I hunt, hunt for the flower of your youth.
Girl: Well, wolf, let us play a game, let us dance a joyful dance, let us sing decent songs!
Wolf: I don't like children's games, I like playing sinister wolf games in the depths of the forest, with you.
Girl: Wild wolf, do whatever your heart longs for, but I beg you: Stay with me!
Wolf: No, girl, I will not abide with you, I'm not staying with you and don't love you. Never loved you.
Girl: I was a fair and pretty girl. Now I'm poor and overcome with shame. Now only the deep pond awaits me.
greetings from germany
carina

Hi :) Eluveitie are a great band and they are great people! Also I lost my head during their show :D Their music is beautiful and magical almost the same way as Nightwish, a quality that not many bands have! I recommend "Omnos", "Memento", "Quoth the Raven" and many more :)
