Back to school

Today it´s the school start here after the nice long x-mas break, so we went up early to drive my son to school. He was happy and I remember the feeling of missing the friends in school. Especially after the long summer break the last weeks were a bit boring and all I did was just long for school and the normal days.

Just like that, I miss touring and the boys now;=)

Enjoy the day!

  1. Good morning Anette,

i had to rub my eyes and read 3 times the part that you longed for school.

If you miss touring, call the boys and do it. :-) We are always waiting for bands like Nachtwasser or Sushi Patrol. I would die for seeing you in a small club doing a fun show.

    Have a nice day

  2. Good Morning Anette!

Ah, this feeling of having too long holidays- I know it also. In the beginning it is really nice to have some freetime but then one starts to long for some regular work once again. For me it was not only the classmates but also the regularity of the day, the structure, that I was missing then. - Hope you'll have a nice time until you'll meet the band and will find your own structure and having fun during that time!
Nowadays I never do have really freetime. There is always something to do. Even at home. I just should not sit here in the internet for normally I haven't time for this. So now I would be happy to have freetime. But you know what?- IN 2008 I planned to do absolutely nothin at the 26th of december and was looking forward to that day for months. But when the day was there I felt SO bored, that I was happy when it was over. Strange thing with the freetime...
Maybe you and the "boys" could meet just for fun to have lunch or something? Don't know if this is possible.
    Have a good time!

  3. Don't you and the other bandmembers come together sometimes when you're not touring, just to see each other like regular friends?

Very Nice! I use the free day to tidy up my room and hearing Nightwish !
I bought a new Compact Music Station from Yamaha PianoCraft E410 ;=)
Next week it will come ;=)
I'm so happy that I can then hear Nightwish much better & louder !

  10. The schools here start much later, in the middle of February. I graduated the high school last year. And I was sick of studying, but now I won't see my friends and the professors at school anymore, no more homeworks and school tests. Now I just miss the act life of a student, hehehe.
Tell your son to enjoy to the best the school. :)

And get together with the boys, if you can, of course! I think it would be great. And don't forget to come to Brazil again in the next tour. :)

  11. Here in Spain children don't want to go back to school! It's all the opposite.
But now I'm a teacher I really missed my children.

  13. You know, I have always found breaks and holidays horrible because I can't see my friends during them. Of course I like breaks but the only bad thing in them is the lack of my school friends. My school (well, yrkeshögskolan :D) started today properly and I was so thrilled to see all my nice classmates! =)

  15. Ugh.. We've been to school for one week already and the moment I walked into the school I already needed the next holiday =_=
I can't long for school. Sure I have friends, but not that much anymore this year because I'm doing the year again and my friends are to another location. But even that can't make me miss school..
The evening before school we figured that if we'd do a 'snow dance' at 2 o'clock in the night it would snow more and we'd get free for the snow, and then Fay figured that we also should do a 'snowstorm-dance' at 6 o'clock in the morning to stop the snowcleaners.
    It didn't work
But there's still snow here, that's awesome, it's the 3rd week already and that's a lot for this country xD

    Take care

  16. Hello Anette!
Nice to hear your son missed school, that means he's not so much of the "lazy" type, like I am for example. Not even the whole 3-months break in summer is enough for me, hehe, and I prefer meeting up with friends during my spare time instead of seeing them at highschool. =]

I'm sure the guys in Nightwish miss you and touring too, so if you haven't already or don't do it on a regular basis, you could send each of them a nice little sms asking them how they're feeling and how's the harsh Karelian winter treating them. :D

  17. I'm back in class this week too! ^.^ I remember in high school how summers got to be too boring after a while but nowadays it's been so crazy that I really would have liked a longer vacation to wind down from it all. This is my last semester, though, and I'm wicked excited about it, though becoming increasing terrified of having to look for a job and get on my own feet.

Have you had this feeling when you were leaving school and going into the working world? How did you deal with the transition? It happened to me at the end of high school and now that college is almost over I've been having a relapse.

And we miss you touring too, don't forget about that ^.^

  19. Dear Anette,

good luck to your son in this new year at school!

I know the feeling ...I also miss my classmates especially during the last days of the breaks and then it's so nice on the first day to be all together again and go back to our normal program!

I believe you miss the boys and touring and I think they do too.....I hope you guys get together very soon again!

    Love,
