Horrible

I really feel so sad about the whole situation in Japan. Its like there is no end to it all over there.

Horrible and I really hope the earth quakes, the nuclear situation and everything soon comes to an end.

    I have been following this also. I have some nice friends in Japan, fortunately they are safe.
    Makes me realise even more how lucky we are.

    My heart goes out to those people.

    How are you feeling today after being more active?
    I just quit my job after they tried to give me a disciplinary for being off work with my ill son. I do not want to work for a company who put's the health of little ones and family after their £££'s through the tills.

    I'm afraid, that it won't. At least, as soon as we hope.
    People, especially, businessmen and politicians learn a little from the same situations, that took place in the past, I guess.
    By the way, are you going to visit Japan during your next tour?

    Carol: Hi and I agree with you: if the company are like that, its nothing to put your time in. Good for you! And well, I actually cried this morning cause I just hate this state of being not able to do anything without having pain. I cant even carry Nemo and breastfeeding also hurts when he lies on that side. I know I cant do anything but it really sucks. And on wednesday Johan need to go back to his job so then I dont have as much help and well, it´s a little scary. But I just need to take pills and ask for mums help. I never ever wanna feel like this again - helpless. I am a strong person who wants to take care of myself and my child and this makes it so hard. But it will be better soon I am sure;=) Have a great day now and thanks for caring.

    Hellgate: Well, against in the way that these horrible accidents can occur but also for since we need the energy. Its a hard question but with the Japan situation I must say I am against at this point. And you? Against or for?

    Hi Anette,
    i feel sad too for this people. I don't know if you heared about eathquake in Abruzzo (a region of Italy). Died so many people, i've watched the funeral on tv and i was so sad for them. I've heard it several times and it was terrifying. Once i was sleeping in my bed, i've heared my bed move and i was paralyzed. o___o I wish you to never hear it!

    I feel lucky not to live in a place where there is always the risk of earthquakes and floods.

    @Anette: Well, as you say it's quite a hard question.

    In general I would say I am more in favour than not; because, if we want to be realistic, unfortunately there is no other real, cheap and cleaner way of obtaining electricity right now. Of course I hope to be able to use solar panels or windmills in the future, but right now I think there is just not enough interest from the governments in these kinds of technology to allow enough money to be spent on them.

    Also, I live in Italy, where we have NO nuclear plants at all... But still, we buy our electricity (for a much higher price!) from near countries like Slovenia (which is 10 kms away from my house!) which use nuclear power, so... There isn't much sense in this. Unfortunately, in case of accidents, the radiations won't stop at the border. :(

    On the other hand, it took a 9.0 earthquake and a huge tsunami to put those plants in danger... Which makes me think we are reaching a very high level of security in building these structures.

    So in the end I would say from 0 to 100 I'm 60% in favour of those... But only if they're built with the highest security standards available and in non-sismic regions (and as far as I know Japan is VERY sismic, which makes me surprised they have so many nuclear plants over there).

    At the end of the day it's very hard to have a clear opinion on this matter. I just hope people who have to choose on these matters think about it with a clear mind and not in the rush cause by this huge disaster, as happened in Italy after Chernobyl (that's why we have no nuclear plants at all).

    I think that we can't talk about the end of it.

    It's really big calamity and if we try to talk about destroing and doing that now-it will take some years,I think.

    Anette, I agree it is horrible what is going on in Japan. I feel so sorry for them, they cannot get a break.. Everyday they have been having a new problem. My prayers are with them...

    I hope you feel better, I feel bad you are in pain. Just keep your head up, like you said nothing you can do.

    So sad indeed,I almost cry watching the news. But you know? it's really sad when people says that they deserve it cause they are so cruel with nature, animals and so...I absolutely thing that no matter what, nobody deserve something like that, nobody deserve to die, it makes me sadder think that so many just think in that way:(

    Well, I live in a country (Austria) where almost every single person is against nuclear energy. Also every political party is against it (even the conservatives). This is probably one of the few topics here where all politicians come to an agreement. :) Of course we don't have a nuclear powerplant here but it doesn't matter much, because most of our neighbour states have them (even close to our border).
    There is usually much trouble going on between Austria and those neighour states, especially the Czech Republic because of their power plants wich are already quite old.
    In Slovenia there is one powerplant close to us wich is quite old and was built in an earthquake territory. As I live in the south close to Slovenian border it's not nice to think of it.
    But there is not much we can do. We are such a small country and clearly the minority with our position in the EU. :(
    I understand that some states don't have other options but nuclear energy can't be the future, that's for sure!

    It really sucks what is going on in Japan.
    First, the earthquake, then a tsunami and now the nuclear thing. Poor people there. My thoughts are with them. :( Nuclear energy is way too dangerous and the world should focus on renewable energy to produce the amount of electricity that is needed to keep the world running.

    It's devastating what's happened. I'm glad not as many people were hurt as there could have been. Japan prepares itself for earthquakes, they build buildings to specifically deal with earthquakes and they teach the population how to deal with them.

    I am mostly against nuclear power myself, it may be an alternative source of energy, but then so is solar power and wind power. Fortunately, most of the power plants are built and maintained well nowadays, like someone else said, it took a huge earthquake to take down this plant in Japan. I think Chernobyl was a wake up call for nuclear power plants to maintain high standards.

    Hope you're feeling better! I have one quick, unrelated question: Are you planning on coming to Ireland on your next tour, if so, what time of the year?

    It really hurts what happened in Japan. I lit a candle and sent healing blessings to our brothers and sisters from there. And hopefully they can recover from this tragedy, which will take some time. We all have to unite and stay strong as one, here is a video for them...

    Yeah, I hate the situation too. I can't watch the news because there I can see all that hopeless disaster. How will they ever survive from this? It's so so very sad... and there's nothing for us to for them. Let's just hope all the disasters will end!

    Actually, the nuclear reactor is only lightly damaged. yes, there is a radiation leak, but it is not as dangerous as sensationalist news would like to think.

    The fact that the reactor is only this damaged after the quake and the flood is a demonstration that the nuclear system is working.

    I feel sorry for Japan =(
    I think that this world is lost ...
    We (Humans) think that we can know everything and that we can control the Universe,but that's impossible.
    Maybe we exist to not know these things ...
    We are already living the end of the world,its painful to see everyday wars,fights,eartquakes,tsunamis,death people ...I think that its better to end all of this now than suffering a bit everyday(im not being pessimist,but realistic).
    We destroy everything,we should keep healthy and happy,but its everything wrong in this world,its not good living in this planet ...
    Im sooo sad for Japan,they already had two bombs in Hiroshima and Nagazaki,now the eartquake ?? =(
    I wouldnt be surprised if it happened a World War 3 ...
    I know im just 13 and that opinion maybe isnt important,but that is how i feel :S
    But well,at least there is one good thing in the world - Nightwish :)
    I hope all the people that survid are better,and to those who died R.I.P =(

    It's awful. I study Japanese at school along with four other people, we all have really good friends in Japan and while they're all ok thankfully, the country's kind of a little piece of my soul, for one, and it's awful seeing something like this happening to it. We're hoping to raise some money for them soon.

    So, people it´s happen! The Nuclear Desaster is in Japan now.
    1st the earthquake, then the Tsunami and now that.-.-
    I haven´t not family and friends there, but what is if that happen here!
    That remember me on my Nightmare, they i haved with two or four year´s. Where was the Desaster of Tschernobyl.°~°
    And i have read the book "Die Wolke"

    But now I hope that will not so Heavy for the People there.
    And I hate the German Newsmagazine ><, there made needless panic >>.

    I'm very sad for Japan, it's my favourite country and when I knew about the earthquake I felt bad. Something in me has broken, I want to help the people victims of the earthquake, but I don't know how...the only thing I can do is to pray and hope

    I'm so sad too!! Just to see all that situation there in the news it makes me cry and feel sad for them I know Japanese people are strong so I hope this thing can come to an end soon...

    Oh Anette I read your comment where you said you cried, it makes me feel terrible that you're sad!!! Please don't be sad it breaks my heart to read this!! I know being just laying in a bed is no the best way to stay for such a long time without doing nothing but just please think it positive everything is going to be fine, you will heal and be able to do everything you want soon!! =)

    I have some japanese friends here in Brazil that have relatives in Japan.

    I was REALLY desperate for them. They were trying to talk with their relatives, but nothing worked. Fortunately, they finally could talk to them and everything is ok.

    Japanese people are really strong. If something like that happened to me, I wouldn't know what to do...

    It's so terrible. What these people must face right now.. Some people have lost everything, half of their family and friends. I can't imagine. And now the nuclear disaster that is seeming to come closer.
    My prayers are with those people.
