Tired

Hi everyone!

I watched the movie yesterday with Seth and Johan and we all loved it;=) It was really good and it made my mood get a bit better.

Today I really feel a bit down. Not so weird I guess since I have pain and is so tired from the pain killers. I got quite depressed when I woke up and hoped for things to feel a bit better but when I started moving felt everything hurt as much as yesterday.

I must say that breaking a rib is really really boring;=(

But I´ll try and keep my spirit up and accept this. There´s nothing else to do, but I never ever wanna break any more bones in my body.

We have a commercial on TV at the moment for a cell phone operator that really makes me laugh every time, so let´s watch that and get my laughter going. Just check out his "Ninja-kick"! haha, love it!°

  1. haha, that was brilliant.
Are most commercials in Sweden in English? Just rather curious?
Also - What kind of movements are you doing? Do you lay down more or sit? Haha, sorry for the questions, just seeing if I could provide any suggestions: My step-father is an ER doctor, so I get to hear this a lot. I messed up my ribs before in a skateboarding accident.

Hope things get better, don't be in any rush! :)

  2. Hi Amanda: Most commercials are in swedish but these are in english and that´s part what´s funny about them. I cant do so much if I dont wanna feel the pain, so lying down and sitting when I am eating, nursing Nemo. But mostly lying down.

  3. Good morning again Anette,
thank you so much for answering to my question! Even if it was in generale it's always a pleasure for me to read it. Glad to read that the movie it does feel you better. I can understand that it's really boring for you to do nothing. Luckly i never broke my bones and i can't think to lie in bed or in the couch. It would be terrible!

Have a nice day and take care!

    Big hugs

  4. Hi Anette. What do you eat atm? Do you have to change your diet?
Also, it sounds odd as a question I know, but how do you manage to go to the toilet? Yeah, I mean poo.......Oh my, I believe it must be so hard even in the toilet if you don't want to feel the pain in your ribs ;=((

  7. sorry to hear your still in pain. I'm bored as well as I'm full of a horrible cold with sore head and sinuses and a throat so sore it hurts to speak or eat and drink.. so I'm sat in bed watching tv programs and trying to rest.. very very boring but I guess the body needs a good rest to help it recover.

  8. That sucks that you feel so bored.
When I get bored I watch television or go on the internet and watch programs I missed a day or a couple days before. The sun is shining today, just like yesterday and it's very warm in my house. Makes me feel happy :) But I don't have much to do today. I don't have to work today. Maybe I'll also watch a movie or something. I really like the movie The Runaways ( kristen stewart, dakota fanning ) I think you might like it too. When you have pain and can't do anyhing, how do you do that with the kids at home?
    Hope you feel better soon.

  11. I am so sorry you feel this way, I know it is hard to keep positive but there is nothing you can do about it. When I broke my leg I had metal plates and screws (They are still there) and it took 4 weeks before I should go back to work and an additional 4 weeks before I could lift again. It was bad:( But I will tell you a funny story about it that might make you laugh. I broke my leg in the winter about 2 weeks before Christmas. Well the Christmas tree was setup with the skirt underbeath it, I had to get up and when I went across the floor on my crutches one caught the skirt and the crutch flew out. I was about to fall and grabbed the Christmas tree, now keep in mind the tree is going all over the place:) I had glass Christmas decorations and they were falling off the tree and breaking on the ground (hard wood floors). So I did not fall but the tree was completely destroyed, I had to tape the artifical tree back toghether so the kids would have a tree. (I am laughing so hard right now people at work are stairing at me)
Try to have a better day, hope this helped.

that way you wont feel frustrated anymore because you can see your progress and there are some very good exercises I can recommend you!

  13. Dear Anette, I really hope you are better soon. I have to lay down myself, because there is something wrong with my back (slipped disc or how it is called in English). So I have to take painkillers and other pills now to see if they help and can go to a physiotherapist or If I have to see a specialist. At least it gives me some time to study ;-) and watch lots of tv. take care!

  15. Oh I really hope you'll get better soon and the pain goes away! It's such a shame that bad things happen to good people... :( I've never had a broken rib myself, so I can only imagine how bad it is!
    All the best,

  16. Hey Anette,
I thought you mentioned in a previous post that you try your best to not laugh because it hurts your ribs, but now you're watching things that make you laugh. What's going on?

  17. I'm so sorry, Anette, for you feeling depressed and bored :(

10 years ago I broke my nose in a stupid accident (was making salto while jumping on this big air mattress looking like a huge frog with her mouth wide opened made specially for children jumping inside her "mouth" and having fun), and had to stay at home for like 3 months because I had huge bruises under my eyes, and they were changing their colour, being first purple, then red, blue, green and yellow. They were so big that no sunglasses could cover them, so I really had to spend all the time at home, and it was summer time with perfect weather, sun and fresh air etc all the time. The only possibility to go outside for me was during the night, when it was dark and there were no people on the streets :( and even then I weared sunglasses, hehe :) ofc I also was very depressed and couldn't even look at myself in the mirror...
So I really understand you, Anette. The only thing I can advice you is to try to
accept the situation and try to spend this "calm" time the best you can - sleep more, train your memory by reciting some poems or, e.g., both new and old NW lyrics by heart, write your own songs or letters to your friends, help Seth with homework or read books etc, there are so many opportunities and things you're still able to do. You may also turn on the whole 6 episodes os Star Wars and have fun :P
So just try to focus on good things and do not think about bad ones like lots of painkillers or temporary inability to move freely etc. Think positive, Nettan, this is the thing you teach us every day ;) the less you focus on bad things, the faster you recover and feel fine and be active again ;)
And we will try to entertain and support you every day :)

Sorry for long ranting, Anette, but I just needed to explain it and support you :)

Take care and feel better soon,
    Hugs,
    Lerren

  19. I can't imagine that you'd lack for people to talk to, but I have suffered from depression since I was 11 years old so, if you did want someone to chat to, I probably understand some of what you are feeling.
The main thing with feeling like that is to keep distracted which is obviously a lot harder to do when you are injured but try to keep your mind busy and away from unwanted thoughts. I find that reading helps a lot, as do crossword puzzles because it involves focusing completely on something outside of yourself. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help and I hope you feel better soon. x

  20. I've fallen and broken my ribs before on the same side as you, Arska.

It really hurt and the pain relievers did nothing but dumb down the pain some so you're lucky that you've got strong enough meds to help.
But I can't help but feel saddened that you won't be able to breastfeed anymore with those chemicals in your body.

When I broke my ribs life got so difficult. I couldn't take it easy because I had two kids to take care of (I'm a nanny) and everything hurt - including laughing. I had to avoid funny movies for a while so you're lucky you can watch funny things. =) I guess my ribs were worse than yours.

But speaking from personal experience, I'm sorry to say I don't believe your ribs will be healed enough to be able to sing for a while. I know how sad that must be for you, but you do need to concentrate on taking it easy and take a break from any recording for a while.

Your story about how it happened was a bit confusing. I keep rereading it and can't help but go huh? But that could just be me.

Keep your spirits up and take it easy. Your ribs will take about... two months to heal if can stay still for that long (I know I couldn't.) I wish you a fast recovery, but I know how broken ribs are and know that yours will take quite some time, especially given your medical history.

Well, take care Arksa and, when you get the chance, can you post some more pictures of Nemo? =) I'd love to see his laughing face one day.

  21. Sad to hear that your condition isn't showing any imporovement. Well, I guess that's just a process that takes time.

  31. Hi Anette.
I brought Ethan home, he has made some improvement. His temperature is more normal now but he is still very sleepy. He has a viral chest infection which is what caused the fever.
I did not sleep much due to worry but have lot of nice people around me with support.
Kept myself busy as he slept so not to still worry as Tuomas emailed me the answers to extra interview questions so I put them on the site this morning.
There are now 5 pages of get well messages on the forum dedicated to you, I love seeing supportive fans :)

    Take care
    Carol
