Ribs

Thought I´d give an update on my rib situation since there´s been some of you asking how I´m doing. Thanks for asking;=)

Well, it still hurts and I do need to take pain killers. Cant do some things and lying on the side is still to painful, even if I try every night since my left side is my favourite sleeping side...

I am up, I am walking, I can go out for shorter walks but the pain gets to me after doing that. Still, its much better and I have learned that broken ribs can take a long time to really heal and that it might be hard to do some things for a long time.

I have felt more pain now after my bad cold since the sneezing and coughing "pulled" it up again so that was a bit bad timing, but I do feel that singing next week will work really good with some pain killers and I am so happy to finally go over to the studio and Tuomas and do some magic!

So I´m stronger and I am happy things are moving in the right direction again;=)

  1. Good Morning Anette! Glad you feel a little better & stronger but sounds like you still have some way to go :( Its great news that you are going to sing & record next week :D (I know iam saying the obvious here)but Please dont push yourself too hard & have lots of little breaks & rests!!!!

I have been following the Nightwish Official Facebook just lately & i have to say that i never realised how funny the guys can be, especially when i read Tuomas's diary entry that i think you posted on here, i really laughed so much when i read: Tero (Kinnunen, the other recording engineer) was run over by a horse and a cart....Hope its not true haha! but its like really funny sarcastic ..it really did make me laugh..& the photo of the moon is Marco's butt haha sooo funny :D

I know you cant laugh too much at the moment but you will have to let us know what things make you laugh??? :D

My cat makes me laugh all the time! He runs like scooby doo & slides on the floor haha!

Well the weather is dull here in England :( really want the sun to come out!!

  4. yes unfortunately rips really need long to heal up completely. . .there´s nearly nothing one can do without being in pain!
nice to read that there´s somehow a positive evolution in your case!
good that you´re so optimistic when it comes to singing, honestly i would be a bit "scared", well it might also depend on the singing technique. . i remember when my rips were broken i really had problems with one or the other breathing technique. .

i wish you luck for the singing session and i hope you won´t need too many paink killers! *hugs*

  8. Hi Anette,
you don't know how i'm happy to read that your situation is getting better!

Don't thanks, it's more than normal that we are worried for you! Don't worry that pain with killerpain will fade away very soon and you will be in a great shape! You only have to be patience. Do you using some nasal spray for a cold or something to get it through?

Best wishes for a good healing!

Have a nice sunday and take care!

  10. Hej Anette <3
have you been trying to sing softly or to sing with the "usual power" the latest week? Have you been exercising with the NW demo only or did you pick a specific "song of the moment"? How does it feel with the muscles, breathing, belting etc.....? Is it a weird sensation, like it is too soon or does it feel all right?

There are at least 5 people from the AOc elite that are wondering how can you cope with this. You would make my/our day answering this questions:=)
We know you can do it!!
    Thank you for the reply.

Please, hey hey, don't risk too much with the pressure and listen to Johan;=)

  11. Hello Anette :)

    It's Nice To Hear You're Better :D,
i can't imagine how much pain do you feel, and take pain killers everyday makes you feel dizzy, and stuff like that, it's nice you're going to back to the studio,

but's better when you're more healty, but if you decided that well, good, but sing with care, cuz i dont wanna see your health worst :)

    take care :)

  12. Arianna: Yes, I use nasal spray;=)
Poochie: I have been singing the whole album through today and it feels ok with the pain killers. Since I use my belting on the high notes its easier for me than if I would "scream" full force. And we´ll take the harder songs the days I feel ok in the end if I have pain. Enjoy the evening!

  14. Hi Anette

so glad you are feeling some improvement and feel strong enough for next week. Finally get the gift heh few months later than originally planned heheh

I just returned home from the sea. I took Ethan there as it was such a nice day. It is the first time he has seen the beach and sea, he had a constant smile on his face. We then went and played on the swings and fed the ducks at the lake. Wonderful day.

Now I'm home and back to work, I'm in the middle of paperwork for an idea I'm working on.

    Take Care

I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed singing the whole album today: that's great new and huge improvement! You see, you have no reason to be down anymore;=)

And I am proud of your steadiness and will.
As I said before: I know you can do it, girl!

So, I guess you might expect kinda neightbours call sometime in the evening, if you are singing full voice! Haha x.x.x.

P.S.= And don't forget to record some of your "Hep Heps" in the new album, I say to you that I miss it while listening to DPP!!!!!!!!!!!

    Enjoy your evening too!<3

  16. Carol: Hi! Oh, I also took Nemo to watch the sea today and just like Ethan, he was amazed and so happy;=) It was quite windy too so he loved the sound when the waves hit the rocks. Do you live close by the sea too? Enjoy the evening;=)

  17. Poochie: Hehe, I always sing in daytime so hopefully not everyone will be home;=) Hep hep!

  18. Arianna; Yeah, I read it and I dont know why some people are so judgemental. But dont even bother to react to it, cause there will always be people like that and its better to just not argue with them.

  19. Thank you so much for your reply! You are a person to estimate!!! Don't you worry, i've only send other 2 sms to her and i didn't answer to her anymore. I don't waste my time with this kind of people. I've deledet her phone number and luckly she doesn't has msn, skype and fb.

  20. Hi Anette,
I live in the middle of the woods and the sea is only 10 minutes drive away.
I got Ethan out the buggy and he loves water and wanted to go play in it haha.
Here is a picture of him on the swing for the first time: http://i748.photobucket.com/albums/xx130/oceanborn82/IMG_0146.jpg

I took him when he was a little baby, but he was too young to understand.

  21. Hahahahahahah sweet and funny as always:
your personal "Hep hep!" comment made my day! I sense a particular humor reading that, considering the fact you are the Hep Hep creator :=D
It made me smile, thank you. For me it has been a week full of big changes and filled with thoughtful moments, worries and pain for some reasons. One more time, I must notice how helpful 1 single word can be in the right time;=)

Please don't ever think about putting this blog offline. You give strenght and are so down to earth. I know you've been told so many times but I needed you to know today.
Hope you get strenght from us as well:=)

Our lives are different but this is LIFE anyhow.

This little place warms me and gives me an unbelievable sense of cosiness which I cannot describe at words.

Thanks Anette, Carol, eskoplja, Arianna and everyone who's reading here;=)

    Dinner time!!!!!

  23. @Poochie: i didn't understood what you mean with: Please don't ever think about putting this blog offline.

  24. Poochie: OMG... now i've understood what you means.

Anette: i really hope that you will never put offline this blog! Writing here for me is like to be in family and i feel at ease. Sometimes i'm in trouble with english but i don't care about it, the most important is that you can understand me. You are the only one singer which i can talk about all and ask all the question that i want, tell about my problems. Not everyone has this kind of contact with their fans and i don't want to change it. If we get here: IT'S ONLY ABOUT ABOUT YOUR!!! I will never stop to thank you!

    I hope you've understood all. :)

  25. Hi Anette,
It's really good to hear that your ribs are healing quickly. You're probably annoyed about not running for a long time now. Knowing you, you just can't wait to get out and go running again in this fine weather

  26. Hi Anette. :)

I'm glad to hear that your ribs are doing better. Sorry to hear that they've still been causing you some pain though. :( Hopefully they'll be fully healed very soon. It's great to hear that you'll definitely be able to do the vocal recordings! I know they'll sound amazing. :)

  27. Anette Can You Tell Me Please What I Can Do To Get Off The Pain In my ankle, I ask because I twisted it really bad in school, i give a bad step and when i was to step the floor, I bend the foot to the outside, and when it's cold, it hurts me horrible,

please, can you tell me what do you do apart from taking painkillers to ease the pain?

    and yes, i miss your ''Hep Hep's '' :)

  28. Hi Anette, it's been a little while since I wrote here, and I must say it is so lovely to see you are really on the mend now and getting back into doing the 'normal' everyday things like going out for walks, =).

I love your comment about taking Nemo to watch the sea, so sweet! I love to see the look on the face of little ones when they experience something new. Us people who live close to the sea are very lucky; it is so beautiful, especially in the warm spring weather and sunshine.

Have a fantastic day and take care!

  34. Nice to read that you are getting better! :) I hope you will be completely healed soon.

My lower back got achy on Sunday morning. It hurt so much when I stood up and I couldn't even walk straight. I don't know why it was so aching. The worst thing was that I didn't have any milk or food at home and I couldn't walk outside to get them from the store. I had to call to my sister to get me food and luckily she was able to do it. I took some pain killers and was able to rest on my bed or then just try sit in a comfortable position on the couch. That's all.
The worst thing happened on Sunday morning when I woke up and was awake on the bed. I tried to stand and turn to my both sides but no matter what I tried to do it always hurt so much in my lower back. All I could do was just lie on the bed. I started really to get panic. Then I just had to very slowly try to move my body somehow to get off from bed. I don't know how long did it take but it hurt so much!
So in a way I know now what you have been going through. Of course this isn't as severe as ribs but anyway.

Now I have taken pain killers and I can stand and walk straight. It hurts only a little bit anymore. :)
