Back from my relaxation;=)

Oh, why dont I do this more often??? I am that person that are sooo bad at stressing down and taking care of my body and that´s something I have decided to change now...

My spa-treatment was in a nice place called Njuta. The treatment I got today is called "sun" and started with a foot bath and a nice cup of tea in a relaxing room with floating waterfall, calming music and soft lights.

Then after 15 minutes a nice girl called Emma came and picked me up and took me to a treatment room where I lied down and first got a scrub all over my body. Then I took a shower before getting a clay mask with sea salt etc in it all over. Got tucked into plastic and a heating cover and laid to rest for some time. I was so warm and cosy that I fell asleep for some time;=)

Then a shower again before she massaged my back and body with a body lotion. She made a muscualar massage which I really need for the back.

We talked about stress and living a hectic lifestyle and she said she uses a bed of nails which she recommended for my ache and sleeping problems, so I bought one;=)

I also booked a new appointment for next week with a facial treatment and muscular massage. My new life has started... and it will be more relaxed, less stressful and taking care of this body;=)

Now, gym time...

  2. Oooo that sounds so relaxing! I always end up nearly falling asleep when I get a facial bc the people are just so good at massaging!

Glad you're having a nice morning, have a lovely weekend. I've got an audition this afternoon for a national singing contest and I'm so incredibly nervous but listening to Meadows of Heaven is calming me down! Thank you!

Hope You had a good night and slept well!

Happy to hear that You had such a great time in spa! you surely needed it. Gods, it sounds so niiiiiiice when you talk about Your spa experience. I live in a small town so we don't have spa salons here which is a shame. I'd so love to go to such a place myself and just feel like a queen for an hour or so ;)))

    Have a lovely Saturday!

  12. I'm glad you had a nice relaxed day,
you need it! But I however
will be out and about because both my
little brothers have the soccer parade today
    and both have a game.
So I'll be out at that and I need
to decide which of the puppies to bring
with me :) But have a good time at the gym!

And if it's not too much,
do you think you could answer me with
    some advice about the whole
    cancer thing...I honestly don't know...

  14. Hi Annette,
    Spas are great, no doubt!
I read that you like to take a bath before a gig. You might not know that 2 cups of Epsom Salts (magnesium Sulfate = relaxation mineral) + ½ cup of baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate = alkalinizer) +10 drops of organic Lavender oil in a full hot bath (soak 20 mn) enhances relaxation/detoxification.
Also for your info, the "Journal of Allergy and clinical Immunology" (04.09) mentions that Folic acid lessens Allergy and Asthma symptoms.
Take 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (!) (5-MTHF), much better absorbed than ordinary folic acid.
Hope it may be of help!

  15. A bed of nails you say? How does that work exactly, its not like a literal bed of nails is it that you lie on like those stunt people do? =O

Your description of that spa treatement made me so jealous, i think it actually relaxed me a bit just imagining it xD

  16. That sounds like a very pleasant experience. What a wonderful workout you will have without having to worry about back pain! I hope that this relaxation treatment will keep you calm and pain free for a good long time! =)

  17. Wow, this is a incredible day. You are a lucky girl. 've Heard of some reports in Brazil that one of the things that relax the more women it's go to the SPA. Speaking of SPA, when you came to Brazil, you gave an interview with Marco and Tuomas and the interviewer Maria Candida said it would you recommend the SPA. That was it recommended? This quiet life you said you will get now will only make you well. When you have a chance, tell us more about this bed of nails. It is a literal bed of nails or is it just a name given to some equipment of aesthetics?
Have a good day my favorite Swedish singer.
    Peace =)

  18. Sounds lovely, Anette. I'm so glad you enjoyed your relaxing time at the spa today. Yes, it's very important to take care of our body - it's the only one we have after all.

  19. I'm so glad you've taken some time out for you to relax and unwind. You definitely need it at times, especially with how hectic your life can get. I hope you can have a few more spa days to help you relax and keep your body in tip top condition. Can't wait for the next questions round <3 I'd be awesome if you could keep it open for a little longer for us people who live in Australia xP *hugs and kisses*

  24. Don't go to a spa, just come to Rio de Janeiro, and the sunny 'hot as hell' days here will make you feel and become a sausage. hahahahaha

Remember if you come to Rio you don't have to spend any time in a hotel, you ave a home here(I mean my house)m and at this moment gf is reading this and will eat my kdney as soon as i end this post. hahahahaha

you did'nt read the post I made specially for you, and I'll steal your kidney and put it for rent in a black market in Paraguai... Ok, I'm kidding.

How about a concert together with Tarja, Simmone, Sharon, Andre Matos and Scabbia? It would be wonderful!

Regards from deep inside Brasil! (Actually you should spend a time in Rio, I'm pretty sure you'd enjoy it so much, there's a Finish colony here - I know you're from sweeden)

  27. Good for you. Busy moms really need time like this, but like you, often have a hard time finding it. We can only take care of others when we first take care of ourselves. Society doesn't like to promote such a notion, but it's absolutely true. Go you!

  28. Oh... now I'm jealous ;)
But what exactly is a bed of nails? Doesn't sound too comfortable ;)
My best friend just told me that he got tickets for the Nightwish concert in Helsinki in september... I'd die to be there, too...
Do you think he'll have the chance to get me an autograph?

I´ll use this comment to thank you for the effort to sing Kuolema... and for you extremely well nailed Meadows of Heaven, it was really pleasant to hear your beautiful pure voice above it all!
Finally - you can tell Tuomas that I was really happy, because his dream of a show with live orchestra fulfilled. I was pleased too... and I have to say it was done amazingly.
Hold on you both and just whole the band!! =)

Women need to take good care of their body, because we usually are so much more stressed and worn out than men! :D So of course we always enjoy being pampered and taken care of.

  47. Hi Anette! :D

This is the first time I write you a comment... I have been following your posts almost every day and it's very funny and great to know what are the thoughts of my favourite singer/performer and what she's doing.

First thing I want to tell you is that I'm really sorry for your cat, Kulan. I have a 11-year-old cat, too and I can truly imagine how's that feel when you lost your "little baby". But still, I'm happy for your newcomer, Stjärnan! Hope she lives long and well!

And it is very nice to know that you feel great after all this stressful and hectic period! I can even feel the new energy you have now. Enjoying, relaxing and stressless day's are acceptable sometimes, aren't they? ;=) And "why don't I do this more often?" is a good question! I'm asking that too.

It was really great to read your post this time! And now influenced by you I'll go straight to the gym and after that just relax under the sun with good music (of Nightwish :)) and try to have more positive attitude towards life!

    Best wishes,
    Jube

P.S. See you in Hartwall Arena in september! :)

I just worked an art show, standing on my feet for 7 hours in 80 degrees and then we got drenched with rain...Reading what you did at the spa sounds relaxing and perfect!!
You are so right to take care of your body...It's so important to get rid of the stress! We always neglect ourselves...and we shouldn't!!
    You go girl!!
How are the kitties doing? Hope they are getting along!

  52. I agree about taking care of your body, Anette. It is so easy to get caught up in the stress of everyday life, and to get "disconnected" from our bodies even though they are with us all the time. To slow down and pay conscious attention to one's body is difficult, in this world. So good for you, that you've taken a step to improve things for yourself. :-)

  57. Good Morning Anette,

yes a very valid questions; "Why don't you do this more often?" =) Because you realy should, seeing how well and relaxed you felt afterwards.

But a bed of nails?! I hope this was more metaphorically speaking, right, you are not ACTUALLY sleeping on a bed of nails? Is it more like a special cushion or something?

Either way, good for you that you did all this and for starting your new life, I hope your blog still has some space in your new life, too =)

    Have a lovely sunny sunday,
