He is a true Cannibal Corpse lover and rock lover;=) At the moment he has done some albums and one of the bands he is doing at the moment are called Apollo Drive. I really liked the songs he played and the first single Time is a bit heavier and I like it! Here it is:

Me and Petri came to his big house and had a meeting with him and his two co-writer team. It was a really fun and crazy moment;=) Anders is a really funny guy and I laughed all the time;=)
We were there to talk about a collaboration to make songs for a solo album for me, now when I have a break from Nightwish. I am looking forward to do songs now and I believe this will be great;=)

ReplyDeleteOf course, the fact that the 'poppiest' I get is Kelly Clarkson, and when nostalgic, Nickleback might just have something to do with it :P
Do you have any idea on how you want your album to sound, any ideas at all? Is it going to be heavier than what you're doing with Nightwish? Or will it be lighter?

It would be really nice to hear you experimenting a different style than the one in Nightwish, even though something pretty heavy would be so interesting too.

Anette, I'm a bit scared. Solo album? Is it a good idea? I know you want to start something new, you want to be better in music, but I'm scared. I'm still your fan, but I'm much more a Nightwish fan. I don't want you to treat my fav band as your side project. Could you just promise us, many worried Nightwish fans that everything will be OK? Maybe we are just overstating this, but please, understand us. Once there was a such situation, and we don't want to relieve it. What are the boys from Nightwish thinking of this? Are they supporting you?

ReplyDeleteYesterday went on a TV program here in Brazil, the Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gunhild Carling. I do not know if you know it, but it was very interesting to see her play and sing. She's performing with the Orchestra Sinfonica Jazz Brazil.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a successful meeting! It's great that You'll be working with such talented people on your solo album! I don't understand why people are so scared of You going solo? It doesn't mean that You're quitting the band or something like that.
People in the band should have aside projects to keep the balance between the band work and solo work because it's just completely different, plus band work gets less boring if you have something to do!

ReplyDeleteIt is so sad that I can not understand Swedish (yet), because I found some funny clips on Youtube when searching for auditions to have a laugh. Maybe that what I just wrote sounds a little bit mean, but some people are so funny that they just make me cry from laughing. Like in the clip below for example. It is an audition of the Dutch Idols, a woman who is seriously convinced that she can sing. One of the jury members starts to laugh really hard and uncontrollably and this woman goes on saying that she did not think of herself as a bad singer and asks for the reasons why she is not through to the next round. The jury member keeps laughing and the others try to explain to her that she can not sing. She sings Eccentric by After Forever.

From what I have read in the comments on Youtube, this Swedish girl is also really convinced that she can be the next idol and she discusses it with the jury. Unfortunately I do not understand most of what they are saying, but she sounds pretty self confident but looks the total opposite and her singing - something like "Ring Ring" - is really funny.

There are more auditions of the Swedish Idol I have seen that were funny, but unfortunately I can not understand most of them and need to dig into the comments to find someone who translated what they are saying. There is one I found of that female jury member getting really angry, yelling "ORIMLIGT" or something like that. The reason is not very clear to me, but the expression on her face after 'saying' that made me laugh.

Anyway, your post was not about auditions from any Idols (related) programme. :-p I know most of the songs on the list you compiled and I think they are pretty good.
