  1. Quite scary when you take into account that the storm still hasn't reached the coast and that it will stay there quite a while. I also hope that no one gets hurt or killed by it! Best wishes to you all

  2. I live right near Buffalo, NY and we're going to get hit really badly. Thanks for your concern, I'll let you know I'm okay if we keep power!

  3. I'm slightly North of the middle of the storm.
I'm not getting it as bad as a lot of other people, only about 50-60mph, I hope they all stay safe in the rougher parts :(

  4. My cousin Maria lives in NY, so I'm worried about her. I hope it isn't such a great deal since they are prepared.

  5. Ah Anette, as I write to you right now from Brooklyn my windows are shaking and the sound of trees collapsing is literally every 5 minutes, I have to admit this is much worse than last year's hurricane :(. I live in an evacuation zone but since I'm in a high rise apartment I stayed where I am. I cant even imagine what could happen if this were a category 5 hurricane instead of 1. I have lived in NY all my life and now Ive experienced not one but two hurricanes in a 2 year span. I think it will be ok though. No class tomorrow :D

  6. It is sad, but it is nothing anyone can change. Hurricanes happen.
My godfather lives in the USA... I guess in a few days I will receive an eMail saying something like "SO sorry that I didn´t answer you for the last few years, but you know, this hurricane..."
I really hope the people over there are safe. Must be hard there at the moment... Blessed be boring, old Germany ;-)
    Yours, Betty

  7. Hey Anette; don't worry about us! The majority is alright. I'm in New York and the storm is blowing; but so far there aren't too many floods. Thank goodness, all the people in those areas have evacuated yesterday!! School has been canceled for today and tomorrow. Other than that; we're standing strong through it all!!

  8. Thank you Anette!!

We're getting a lot of wind and rain here. Luckily I don't live on the coast or by a river.

  9. Thanks for the well wishes!
I'm in an area towards the edge of the storm and still getting pretty nasty weather, really hard rain and crazy winds all day, a little bit of snow too. I have some friends living in New York and they all had to evacuate until the storm passes.
    Hugs,
    Caitlin

But to not here for that, I knew what ta happening in the USA, have her family, and by the way, and where the hurricane passes, and I know my family will be fine.

Hugs from a fan forever, Raffaella

ps: my English is not so good, I used a translator, do not know if you will understand.

  15. Hello Annette. Not sure if my last comment posted. So here i go again.
Thank You so much for your concern for us here. I am up on northern New York State. So far Sandy is like a bad rainstorm here, haven't seen anything to bad yet but that could change. Winds are picking up a little here. I am pretty safe up here in the mountains I think? I know the coastal regions are going to get it bad. I hope no one dies in this storm. I would hate to lose anyone to this storm. I will drive home very carefully after work tonight because I know it could get worse here. Wish me Luck.

  16. I wish the best of luck to those on the upper east coast. Luckily here we don't get any hurricanes, but there is that occasional earthquake.

  17. Hello again Anette! Thanks for the well wishes. I live in Lebanon, PA which is thankfully more inland but still in the storms path. Right now we have electricity but winds and water are strong here. There are a lot of roadway accidents and damage to trees and such. Lets pray there are no casualties!

  18. Annette , I am safe. The storm went Southwest of me. But it sounds like major damage in NYC with flooding and also New Jersey and Pennsylvannia. It is not good.

  19. Sorry to bother you again but I wanted to share a video of my Friend Anne from Holland. She had been bullied and abused and almost committed suicide But She is turning Her Life around. It made me cry when She showed a pic of Her Dad who died of Cancer at 42 years old. But Anne's story is one Gitl's struggle to overcome ....

  23. apparently the hurricane has caused at least 10 people to die on the continent (in North America+Canada) :( they think the number may increase over the next 24 hours, since it hasn't fully hit the east coast yet. poor people.

  24. Thank you for the concern.

I live in New Jersey... grew up on the coast. Most of where I grew up for twenty-three years is destroyed. But luckily all my friends and family are okay.

I hope everyone still in its path is safe!

  25. In Michigan it has been raining and heavy winds. I cant imagine what New Jersey and New York is like right now. I seen New Jersey got hit pretty bad. On a funny note by Cats kept me up all night with this spaced out look from the storms. Have a great day.

  30. Hey Anette, here's something interesting I found out about Hurricane Sandy. I live in AZ but my good friends are on the East Coast so I'm more anxious to hear from them and extremely worried. :( A shark in front of a balcony porch in New Jersey! Here's the link:

  31. My power just came back on from the hurricane luckily there wasn't a lot of damage where I was and I only had to be in the dark for a couple of nights but my heart goes out to everyone affected and hope we can recover soon! Glad I can go back to reading your blog again though! :-)
