And I got tears in my eyes watching this video. Here´s the information about this collaboration between Epica and Ruurd Woltring:
This videoclip was made for the upcoming Dutch NTR tv show 'Niks te gek', in which mentally disabled persons can make their dreams come true.
Ruurd Woltring's biggest wish was to record one of his song with Epica, so the band took his music & lyrics, re-arranged it into an Epica song and invited him into the studio.
The whole episode of "Niks te gek" with Ruurd Woltring and Epica will be broadcasted in the Netherlands on September 16th on Nederland 2.

(The show) but I don't think you'll understand the language, but it's also in the thing like; "fulfilling someone's wish" it is beautiful, as I mentioned before..

Wow! That was great! Epica. What a class act! Absolutely wonderful. I have not listened to much of Epica but I think they just gained a new fan. I gotta go to the music store to get one of their CD's. Any recommendations which one to get first? Thanks Anette for sharing that! I love seeing stuff like this happen.

ReplyDeleteOh, Anette, what a coincidence!:-) Today I realy wanted to tell you one thing. When I read your blog, your interview for the first time I was attracted by the one thing. I didn't remember, I think it was an article in a journal about you, where you talked about your childhood, about bullying and how you implemented your dream-to become a singer. I still remember, I was touched. And since I listened to you and Nightwish, I understood what I want to do in this life. It has became the most important dream. I realy loved music all my life, in my childhood I wanted to become a singer, but then-I don't know what have happened. I just forgot about it. I had to study and blah blah blah. But when I found your story, I was like "What the hell I do now?!" I knew that I want to have music in my life, every day, every minute, even every second, Anette. And then I promised to myself, that I'll do something! It's my life and I'll do everything that wants my heart and my soul. You did it, and why I can't? And all this time I listened to music, I sang every day, I tried to write songs. And then I saw the ad for the casting in the rock group, I knew, It was my chance. I went there and I DID IT, ANETTE! I got into a group, now we learn to play together, the guys are great, our producer is great too. And today I walked down the street, listened to "Meadows of heaven" and then I understoond, I realized my dream. It's beginning and I won't stop. I feel that I am so happy, realy happy now! And just want to say: Thank you, Anette, for this inspiration. I won't forget it. Thank you, dear:-)

I love Simone's voice a lot! This song is a very good one and I loved it; Epica is one of my favorite bands! She has such an innocent sounding voice, which makes her words even stronger. Have you ever heard Epica's song "Tides of Time"? It speaks to me dearly; many of this things she says relates to, I'm sure, many of us. If you haven't listened to it, I'll leave a link just in case. wow, i must say when listening to this for the first time i didn't like the song that much. but now i've listened to it about 10 times and i love it. and i really love epica for doing this. i think this "make-a-wish" concept for critically ill kids is probably one of the best foundations.
