More answers to the questions;=)

Ok, I can do some more answers now, here we go!

In some Nightwish songs you change the lyrics a bit (like in Nemo and Dead Boys Poem), is that because maybe it sings better or that you think the feeling is better with those words instead of the "official" ones? Or just forgot the right ones? ;)

Hi there!
Oh, I have seen that this is something some people are thinking about;=) Ok, some nights when you are on stage you just forget/mix up text. It can be because of lack of concentration, tiredness, you look at someone in the audience and forget what you do etc etc. So it can happen and will happen now and then. I havent changed anything on intention, it´s all my bad memory that causes these things.

Just wanted to know what you do to keep in shape?? What food you eat and exercises you do?

Hi again;=)
When I started Nightwish I was in such a good shape. I exercised 6 times a week and ate really healthy. Then after some touring I got so tired and stressed and didnt find the time or energy for exercising so I lost the shape totally. Now I try and exercise and find good things to do as much as I can on tour but it´s hard. Food is also a problem. In Europe tour where we have our own catering it´s no problem but in US or other far countries it´s a disaster for me since I cant eat pizzas, hamburgers etc. At home I eat healthy and I try to not eat so much sweets and I take the morning walks, run, go to the gym, do pilates etc. I enjoy being home to get in shape and then on tour, I loose it again;=)

Miriam said;
- Shall you will have in the future an official MySpace profile? If you want I help you to run it! Hehe

- There will be a your personal musical project aside Nightwish?

- What is the thing that you hate of your character?

- Between Prada and Dolce & Gabbana what is your favourite brand? (Me too I have a pair of Dolce & Gabbana glasses with the frame color brown amber)

- Did you ever thought to have an Dolce & Gabbana endorsement for dresses and shoes?

- Of what your afraid, what are you fears in your life?

Hi;=)
I have an unofficial my space today and we´ll see what happens in the future. I really don´t know, but I will remember your offer to help;=)

About side projects I don´t know what to do when we have our break after the tour. I would love to do something, maybe some own songs etc but I really haven´t planned anything like that. We´ll see if I find time for it;=) My time is always Nightwish first before anything else.

I dont think I hate anything about myself. I mean, of course I have complexities about me and my body etc like so many else has, but to "hate"..it´s such a strong word. I would love to be a bit less afraid of some things in life.

I actually dont have anything from Prada so I guess I have to say Dolce since I do have some things from them;=)

Oh, I would love to have a Dolce endorsement. Or Gucci. That would be awesome and such an honour to me. But I think its so hard to get that, I am no super model or Madonna...hehe!

My fears are to many, I have to say...I am a bit of a worrier. My worst fear is that something will happen to my son. Thats my biggest fear. Then I have my big phobia for bombs, balloons, pyros etc which is a really big fear. I hate that fear;=( I really dont like snakes or high altitudes either.

1) Had you had classical vocal lessons? Does it help you now?
2) Could you tell more about the rock-opera you had a role in - the plot, your character?
3) Will there be any new "old songs remakes" during the last part of NW tour? Ones you have alredy made are amazing!

Hi!
1. I have had vocal lessons in my younger years for some years and also in Balettakademien. I have never wanted to sing classical so even if I practised the technique I was quite stubborn and told the teachers that I didnt wanna sing anything else than rock/pop voice;=)
2. The rock-opera was set-up here in Helsingborg by some local musicians. We had 14 shows at an old cinema so it was a good venue. I had the lead role as Regina, who was a queen coming from outer space;=) Me and my mum together with my guards came to the earth, landing at a field and met 3 boys who were brothers. We came to get help to get an evil man away from our planet. I fell in love with one of the boys, Jon, and he came back with me to save our world. It was a great musical and I did not only sing the lead, I also worked with the scenografy and helped making the different props for the opera.
3. No, I dont think so. We dont have any rehearsal time in the summer.

Thiago said;
1. I watched a video at YouTube of you singing Heart Full Of Fire live with Brother Firetribe, then some people said that show was recorded for a DVD. When it's going to be launched?
2. Do you think Tuomas will write a song longer than 'The Poet And The Pendulum' for the 7th album?
3. What was the most charming gift you recieved from a fan?
4. I like watching animation movies. If you like either, what's your favorite one?
5. Now that you shot 4 videoclips (including 'Follow Me'), do you still think it's difficult to make them?

Hi there!
1. Yes, that´s correct. I went to Helsinki some time ago and we recorded that song when they did their live-dvd recording at Apollo. The dvd will be launched after the summer I think. Not quite sure exactly when.
2. I think he can do that, yes. Tuomas is an incredible artist and has so many ideas. For the next album I think he has many big thoughts and I do know he will make great big songs as always;=)
3. I think all the gifts I get are amazing. The time and effort everyone has given those gifts are for me touching. I have gotten some really cool things and one was a bear on the last US tour. She had Hello Kitty clothes etc and she is soooo cute! I also have a small microphone stand that was made for me that I have on my piano.
4. I love animated movies! I must say that Coraline was the best one ever for me;=)
5. I do. I am actually a bit shy performing in front of people like that...I feel so stupid and I have a hard time relaxing. But after some takes it all calms down though, luckily;=)

Anette have you ever or do you plan to have a role in the creation of new Nightwish merchandise or maybe your own solo gear?

I have noticed more "girlie" things coming into the Nightwish shop like the pretty little heart/amaranth pendant and the pretty cross bangle which I already own.

With your love of fashion and jewellery I am sure you can think up some great stuff :=)

Hi Nikki;=)
I haven´t thought about being part of that, no. But who knows? But Jukka is the one fixing those things and he is doing such a great job that I dont need to help him;=

Sofi said;
I was wondering, if you have something that holds back your singing, how do you get around it? For example, I suffer from a pollen allergy which means that my nose is congested all through summer and can sometimes affect my singing. Any tips?
Also, how do you come up with the variations on the melody when you sing live (eg, the last part of The Poet And The Pendulum or She Is My Sin) I think they sound really good :)

Hi Sofi!
Actually, I do have the same problem. I have bad pollen allergy, dust allergy, smoke allergy and astma. This makes my life as a singer quite hard and like you know, I sometimes cant sing as good as I want because of the smoke and allergies. This whole spring has been horrible for me and I still have really bad allergy. The only thing I can do is take daily antihistamines, drink lots of water and ask the pyro guys to keep a big fan going to get the smoke away. In the smaller venues in US I had to get them to remove the smooke machines after the first shows because of my astma/allergy.

My variations when singing is something I have always done. I love to "play" with melodies and I think I hold back quite a lot in Nighwish compared to other things I sing. But Tuomas likes my variations and want me to do more so I will for sure continue to do those now and then in the songs;=) Also, if my voice is ill or not in shape on a gig night I have to change and lower and alternate the songs to make them sound as good as I can possibly manage that day.

Ok guys, that was some more but now my eyes are sooo tired that I need to stop for today. I continue tomorrow again;=)
Sleep very well and enjoy the rest of the night.
Hugs!

  9. Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions! I think you have always looked good. Skinny or thicker you always look amazing. And i have to agree with you about the food in the USA its bad for you HAHA and sadly i live there. Bad food temptation is every where makes it more possible to have a EPIC dieting failure. Thats thats the story of my life.

  10. It's so nice that you do all this is your spare time.

Fear of pyros? Bet you had to sort that one out for Nightwish ;). At least ou don't start screaming in the middle of songs when pyros go off ;).

    Best wishes, Ryan.

  13. Thanks for answering those questions Anette. Sleep well!

I just had a question if you had time to answer it another day, but I saw a studio tour video from when you first joined NW and you said that the guys were scaring you with horror movies but that you cheered yourself up with Jackass 2!! I was wondering, what good movies have you seen maybe on the tour bus, and any bad ones that freaked you out or anything?

    Take care

  15. Hej Anette,

thank you for sharing your thoughts.
I've to say that you are a very interesting person to me. I like biographies and it would be nice to read one about or from you! How do you became what you are now? How do you see the world? What are the things you love and hate most to you? I know that nowboby can know everything from another person but, i always want to understand others.

About the witches: Better dont say anything bad about them!!! ;o)
My family and friends also call my a witch because i have had dreams which later came true. I'm shure this Policewoman dont want to annoy you, she want to warn you. (dont take this words to serious;o)

How can you face it when you've been realized in you private live? What do you do when you don't want it but they dont go?

    Have a nice evening!

  19. Hi Anette ! How are you doin' ?

I really like to read your answers to our questions, I enjoy learning all those things about your singing, the things you like, etc. ...

I would like to know more about your vision of metal. My questions are :
    - Did you enjoy metal before being a Nightwish member ? If yes, which bands ?
    - What your point of view about other "symphonic metal bands" (Within Temptation, Epica, ...) and their singers (Sharon Den Adel, for example) ? And about the "cult" metal bands (Metallica, for example !) ?
I had other questions too, not about metal :
    - What singers influenced your way of singing ?
    - Did you ever cry when hearing a song ? And which one, if yes ? A Nightwish one, may be... ^^
    - Do you prefer festivals concerts or club concerts ? Is the audience really different ?

I know there's so many question, but I hope you'll answer me !

I wanted to tell you that I reaaaaally love your way of singing (it inspires me in my own singing !), and I can see in your eyes, in your smile and in your way of talking to us, fans, there's not only your face that is so beautiful, but also your inner person !

Thank you for everything, I hope all we give you is enough !

Karim, from France (--> sorry for my bad english !)

  21. Hey Anette,

I have a fear of balloons as well, had a one too many of them pop loudly around me when I was young. My boyfriend finds it somewhat amusing. Not sure how I would do with the bombs that you mentioned.

On another note, make sure you go see Pixar's "Up" ^.^ I'm sure your son will enjoy it as well.

Have a good night and dream awesome ^.^

  23. Hey there,
i would like to react to somethings you've been talking about in this blog.

it's so hard not trying to interact to everything you've wrote.

and now i will give it a go... :)

you said you prefer reading vampire, ... stories.
well, i know it's been a hype now days, but have you read the stephenie meyer books?
i first read them al a year a ago, and now i keep rereading them. they are so good.
they are like the harry potter books adicting.

When i read about your allergies, i said to myself, "Darn not another one" allergies are such a pain in the A..
i don't wish them to anyone.
i've been suffering from heavy allergies my self my whole life.
it's now been a year since i finally got some controle over them.
it's still verry hard. but i'm trying to hang in there and watch out for everything i do and eat. and also taking antihistamines, they help, but (i personally find that) they aren't a real solution.
sometimes they can knock you out
aren't you havin trouble with that?

but anette, i must say, you truly inspire me that you are doing this.
like you say, singing in such conditions must be so SO hard!
The touring is so long, day after day, get up there and singing. i could not do it.
how can i say... my hat goes of to you.

sorry for bothering you with such a long text.
i just wanted to interact, and it feels good to do it.

I hope your eyes get to read this text.
for the rest i wish you sweet dream, a good night rest and a very good weekend (without allergies ;) )

i'll be seeing you at graspop

    Big kiss

  25. hey Anette,
I just had to write on here how much i love your singing and your style and all that. I really do feel like you added something to Nightwish that made it so much more appealing for me. I just had to type that, I really can't think of much more to say because I'm still in shock with how interactive you are with your fans. Just keep doing what your doing, because you are definitely making a lot of people happy :D

And if i could just figure out how to work this comment as thing, I'd be all good haha.

  26. Hi Anette!

and have a wonderfully amazing month of June!

You are amazing person when it comes keep in touch with fans. And please, I want to see whole mottled blouse you wear on the morning pic :P I'm fashion slave too, I think so.
I must say I love most of your stage clotes. There was some 'nightmares', but after all outfit from Poland gig for me is the best, because I was at that gig. But you are vocalist, not a model on catwalk. Stay true to yourself. Wear what do you want or think you can wear.

    Good night sweetie,

  30. Hiya Anette, just a totally random question: it has been mentioned perhaps once or twice (!) that the Nightwish and Pain guys like to drink a fair bit - do they have any hangover cures or are you forced to share a tourbus with a pile of groaning, moaning, sick men? I ask this because I am suffering myself and would genuinely like some tips :p
keep writing, i love your blog!

Let me ask you two questions:

1)Last year,I knew you and the band in Rio de Janeiro in your last day in Brazil.Amazing afternoon.I still remember you on the pub wich was placed across the hotel street. You know, when I look to the pics I get so happy,my dream came true. How do you deal with the fact that you made someone happy for just taking a pic with he/she?

2)You told that you're afraid of bombs and pyros,so how does it feel to be on Nightwish's concert when all this stuff is used? It may be scaring but beautiful...

  40. Hi Anette!

I have a few Qs that I anticipated asking at the meet-and-greet in Houston in May but I was so nervous and frazzled that I was actually meeting Nightwish, so I didn't get to ask them. xD (The line was also being rushed along, so it was quite impossible to have asked all these)

Which brings me to my first question:
    1) Does it surprise you that there are fans who admire you so much and pretty much worship you?

    2) When did you get your eyebrow and lip pierced? I also noticed you got a tattoo on your arm. When was that done? Presumably the lip and arm tattoo were done after DPP came out but I can be so ignorant to things like these so it really surprised me when I saw the new piercing and tattoo.

    3) Do you remember the little cow in a clear little orb that I gave you in Houston back in May? Actually my sister gave it to you but that's sorta beside the point. ;)

    4) Does it interest you that people will fly from different countries just to see you perform? I know this one girl who flew down from Ohio to see you guys in Texas.

    5) Have you ever had a stalker? You know, someone who followed you around and was all creepy to you? That just popped into my mind a second ago but I'm a bit curious...

    6) What are your favorite TV shows to watch? Be it drama, comedy, or reality, what kind of television shows entertain you the most?

P.S. I don't know if you remember or not (which you probably don't), but back in Houston at the meet-and-greet, I handed you a little doll made of yarn. It was blonde and you thanked me for it but I took it back because I was too shaken at the time to tell you that it was actually my friend's and that I needed it back.
My friend had wanted me to get a picture of you with it because she couldn't come to the concert herself. So, I just want to apologize for that incident. I was so embarrassed by it and I just really needed to find some way to explain myself.

I think I should bid my adieu now. I apologize for the long comment but I seem to have a real tendency to do that. Thankfully they don't have a character limit on Blogspot!
