Save the mothers...
When I was in Stockholm I ran into a girl who worked for the Red Cross. They have a campaign called Save the mums which is aimed to get donors to give an amount of money every month to help the mothers in war. In wars around the world, the armies use the mothers as a weapon. They rape, molest and kill women and girls in front of their children and families.
The donations are used to help the women to recover, get shelter, food, water and medicines. They reunite them with their children and families and they also help to give them shelter in Sweden if needed.
When I heard how these mothers are molested I had to be a donor. It´s such a horrible thing to even imagine, that they use the women. The weaker sex and of course an easy target. Think about the little children who will wake up with fractures in their mind of having to have watched their mothers being raped and slaughtered.
I have already 3 children through Plan International in India, Vietnam and Indonesia whom I am a sponsor to and I also give money to our Save the nature fond here in Sweden.
I know my little money isn´t such a big help, but I still feel that every thing we can do is a small help.

That sounds horrific. :(
ReplyDeleteWe sponser children in my house too.
And as you say, every small bit does help.
That's so terrible! I support something similar to that and my nan has sponsered a child in India like you.
ReplyDeleteIt really does make a difference, as you said. If everyone thinks like that, then it will make a big difference. :-)
Take care

Hej,
ReplyDeleteits so bad.. =(
We spend too and just like amaranth said every small bit does help
And you are such a great person Anette <3
I just love you even more
I♥u<3
:( :(
ReplyDeleteIt's really horrible when you hear about these things.
We are all so fortunate, and we don't really appreciate it until we see things like this.
Ryan.
Oh wow...I'm glad that you sponsored them. Sounds like a good charity. Hope they succeed!
ReplyDelete"the weaker sex" ? I must say, I don't necessarily agree, even though I'm a guy...
Oh well. We're all very proud of you Anette for having such a kind heart and a good soul =D
Oh dear that sounds so awful.
ReplyDeleteAs you said it might not make much difference but it might just help in the long term.
One of the questions I have been thinking to ask you was about what charities you support, but now you've answered it already!
ReplyDeleteI know of these campaigns to help women in war and it is a very worthy cause. Such terrible things happen in the world and it often makes me sad that there sometimes seems so little we can do. I'm only a student but I give a little money to charity every month because I know how lucky I am.
I'm really glad to hear you are such a great supporter of charities too Anette, it's such an important thing and it proves again how down-to-earth you are - you do not keep all your earnings for yourself but you remember others as well. I'm very glad to know this :)
that sounds horrible indeed :/ here in brazil we also have a lot of these bad things going on :/
ReplyDeletebut at least we have some ppl trying to do something about it, and I also believe that every lil thing does help, and does make a difference :)
nice to hear you're engaged with these kind of things too :)

ReplyDeleteIt's just so terrible that things like this happen in the world... Very good of you that you give money for them!
ReplyDeleteI think it's always so hard to decide which charity should get some of my money? Because there are so many good ones! :O (altought I'm not old enough yet to do things like that, but when I live on my own and have enough money, it's just something to think about :) )
I'm very happy you are a donor for these things! :D
~Night*Star~
Great Anette!
ReplyDeleteSo many people in this world are so selfish, envy and lazy also. They think only celebrities must care about the world 'cause they have lots of money and time to dedicate for those acts. People should realise it's so easy to keep the planet better!
Such a good cause to support.
ReplyDeleteAn option I love are alternative gifts, such as through the world vision catalogue. Christmas last year, I didn't give out cards, but I bought chickens to go to a farmer in Africa and just sent an email to all my friends. It seemed so much more useful! Alternative gifts are also great for weddings and birthdays (sorry, but I think wedding gift registries are just greed!).

ReplyDeleteI don´t like saying the weaker sex either...hmmm...maybe its hard for me to translate what I mean from swedish...what I meant is that women arent the big muscular and stronger physical sex...in that sense we are usually weaker. So, I mean that its easier to take the women than the men...if you understand what I mean /Anette
The world can be so cold. It must be so hard for those people..
ReplyDeleteThose things in live make me so sad and angry.
Why are there so many people that ruin other peoples lives?
Very good that their initiative. Wars do not benefit anyone, in contrast, are just bad. Good work :-)
ReplyDeleteI felt like brr reading what you wrote about armies doing this with mothers..Here in Russia we have not so many of these charity donation companies =( But you so kind and so nice since you worry about them and those kids you're being sponsor to =)
ReplyDeleteThis is terrible.
ReplyDeleteWhen I get a good job and financially stable (I don't know if I wrote it right in English), I will try to help people too.
I will also open an animal shelter. This is a dream I have had since a very young age.
We all should try to help the others.
Every small bit does help. [2]
Greetings from a fan from Brazil.
Take care.
Fábio
Oh my God! That is terrible!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's always good to help others! You are sooo kind! We're all proud of you! You have a kind soul!
We love you!
You said about this campaign and I remembered something. Here in Brazil we are not aware of such cases, but in Rio we have a problem with drugs, violence and child prostitution. I imagine the suffering of women living in areas at risk like that. The Brazilian government does what it can but it is very difficult to control the drugs there. Where I live we don't have these problems, but for people who live in places that have this problem should be must difficult.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds horrible =(. When I hear about these things I wonder why our world is so cold. Why there's people with so much hate?
ReplyDeleteI'm proud and happy to know that you're a donor and you support this cause, Anette. Like you said, every small bit does help.
Take Care,
Barbara
@Anette
ReplyDeleteThat's what I figured you meant...
It's kinda true, biologically, but I still know plenty of girls that could kick my ass XD
But yea, i know what you mean ;)
*freaking out because Anette Olzon actually responded to his post*
XD
Have a great day, Anette!
~Max
I don't belive girls are the weaker sex at all, but it is a horrible thing that this happens across the world. It's discusting, sick and wrong in every way possible.
ReplyDeleteThe world is so cold, and yet hardly anyone seems to care, I'm glad you care , though, every bit helps :)
Damn.... I didn't know that this disgusting kind of stuff happens...!!! Hey... I can't find words...
ReplyDeleteI just wanna tell you it's so nice of you. You surely help them quite a lot, no matter how much money your "children" get. They are certainly much happier than they would be without you and your help. I bet that just the imagination of someone from a different continent who hasn't seen them and still likes and helps them must be so beautiful for the children.
Aww, that's terrible...but what
ReplyDeleteyou're doing is so sweet.
You may not think it helps, but a little
money makes a big difference.
I do this thing called the 30 Hour Famine,
where we fast for 30 hours, and raise money,
each dollar you get feeds a child for a day.
But you are helping with even just a little.
Hugs and love, Katie T.
Wow. That is horrendous. I wish causes like this would get more publicity, I didn't even know that particular kind of stuff went on :(
ReplyDeleteAnette, I understand what you mean, we are weaker in that aspect :(
ReplyDeleteAnd i got the sense while reading the topic actually....
;=))
hugs and goodnight, sleeping beauty.. ;=))
thank you for sharing the pics ;)
yours,
Poochie
Hej,
ReplyDeletethat is just awful. Just to think about the women and children... This world can be so cruel sometimes. :(
That's great that you have Plan children. I've thought about it too that I could sponsor those Plan children.
Let's help the world together!
HI
ReplyDeleteIt's absolutly horrible what sometimes humans are able to do!! It's disgusting!! But thank god there are some people who are fighting against that!!!
I just read that you've "got a child" in Vietnam!!
It's cool!! I'm scout and during amonth in summer 2010 with 3 other friends we are flying to Vietnam to help the people, playing with kids just have a human contact with some people who need it!!
I just find that it is awesome that you are so engaged in such things!!!
YOU ARE GREAT!!
"Gros gros gros Bisous" from France!!
And Thank you for helping to make the World better!!
Alex'
Absolut. Håller verkligen med dig. Så fort jag kommer få ett fast arbete så kommer jag definitivt bli fadder osv. Det är lite svårt som student tyvärr att bidra trots att man vill :/
ReplyDeleteHi Anette, you have a really really big heart!
ReplyDeleteall these things that you have told about the woman sound very horrific but unfortunatly this all are real things!!!
Congrats for you distant "babies"
Kiss miriam
Hi there :)
ReplyDeleteWhy i'm not suprised at all to read that you are a donor for these causes ^^.
You have such a BIG heart :)!!
The life of these women is so terrible... i cannot just imagine how a human being can do such horrors to another one!
This is exactly this kind of thing that makes be doubt a lot about believing in human sometimes...but fortunately there is people like you, who makes me believe in :)
Have a good night and take care <3
That's sad to watch it! Good night dear Anette!
ReplyDeleteAnette, you're just an angel, the things that you do are really wonderful!
ReplyDeleteWe love you !
You're money helps!! You do a rally good thing :D
ReplyDeleteAhh I went for holiday for one week.. I've a lot to read ;)
The sad fact is that this is still happening in unrest parts of the world; especially when there is warfare going around. :(
ReplyDeleteI'm very glad you've taken a step in helping the children you are sponsoring, Anette. Many people in my country are living in poverty and in many cases, their children are growing up in very unhealthy environments. I had a couple of experiences befriending some people who are living in those conditions, and many of them have to struggle just to get by each day.
So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping to improve a child's life and their family. I'll do what I can from my end, too! And you know, you've just increased my motivation to take up charity work and volunteer for a nature preservation cause.
We need more people as thoughtful as you are, Anette.
Hugs from Indonesia!
Hei Anette ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is really terrible what happens in world these days..If only there were more people like you, who don't think only of themselves but care for the others too. It was really nice of you to give money for those people, and sure it will mean a lot to them.
About your older post, don't bother people who don't like your style. There are surely more people who like it than the ones who don't. But in the end it is not important. What is important is that you feel comfortable in it and it is a great thing that you don't bother yourself with comments like that.I love your style and hair looks fantastic! Unofrtunately there are some people who look unimportant things of the band and not listen to the real music which is of course coming from heart, and that's the main thing. You keep ruling the stage with the guys and enjoy in forthcoming festivals. I wish you a great time there and I hope on next tour you will come back to Croatia, cuz everyone on the concert was amazed and so happy that you came. Looking forward to your new posts.
Best wishes to You,guys, and your family..
Marina =)
It's horrible that these things have to happen =( And like NightStar said, it's so hard to decide wich one you'll support, and wich you won't support. And when I see those sad commercials for it on TV I want to support them too.. (Good tham I'm not old enough for that yet, cause I'd probably give all my money away xD Hehe.. Well, maybe not..)
ReplyDeletexx,
Nouky
It's good that somebody want to help people...
ReplyDeleteI'm very proud on you Anette!!!
