Rufus

So, I have the worst head ache today too. I exercised one hour in hope to get it away but no. And I get so cranky and tired when I have head ache like this. Its almost that its migraine so I have decided to sit down in the couch for a while and I put on the TV and there is a nice concert with Rufus Wainwright singing Judy Garland. He is a great interpreter and I love big bands;=)

Here he sings Somewhere over the rainbow. Its sooo beautiful! What a feeling he has...;=) Enjoy!

  1. That's really good.
I sang the solo for Somewhere Over the Rainbow
in choir this past school year.

I had a killer headache yesterday!
I wouldn't think exercising would make it
go away...hmmm, I just always lay down,
usually end up falling asleep, then I wake up
    and its gone.
    If it's not I take medicine :)
But I try not to take too many medications-
I already have the one, for the rest of
    my life, to take.

Anyway, I hope you feel better!

    Hugs and love, Katie T.

  4. Stakkars deg! :( Håper du blir bedre snart... That was a wonderful version of that song, thanks for sharing! - It's raining here so I've been listening to some live-recordings from NW at YouTube. :D I LOVE Sleeping Sun when you sing it! That's always been my big favourite, and you have that feeling I've always wished to hear. It's just perfect.

  5. Must be the warm humid weather that causes the head ache because I have one myself.

There is not much that helps with me (I never tried exercising, though) but what always helps is Camomille tea with a little honey.

Enjoy the concert if it is still on!

  8. Hej Anette,
I hope you feel better soon. Just relax and you'll be fine! =)
"Over the rainbow" is a beutiful song, I would like to hear you sing it, I'm sure you would put lots of feelings in it =)
You know, I often watch a YouTube video of you singing Dead Boy's Poem (I actually was there at the show!), and it gives me goosebumps every time. Your voice is so filled with feelings, and you truly sing with your heart and reach people's heart. I absolutely love your unique and genuine personality that you put in your singing.
Take care and be well soon! =)
    Love and hugs,
    Elisa

  9. Elisa- I second that!!! Well said.
I love your singing of Sleeping Sun
    and Ever Dream too!
Those, Meadows of Heaven, and I forget
    the other right now(sorry)seriously
    give me the chills everytime!
Your voice is amazing, and you're
    totally natural at putting
your heart and feelings into it and
I love how different your voice
can become just in one song.
I also love your vocal range- you're the
only other person I know who
has just about the same range as I do- and
I can go really high, but we're
working on getting the notes in between.
Anyway, I agree- you have an amazing voice and I'm glad you're a
singer and are sharing it with us!

    Feel better soon!!!

    Hugs and love, Katie T.

  10. Oh, I love Rufus Wainwright. Have you heard his sister, Martha Wainwright? Her most recent album, I know you're married but I've got feelings too - it's become a favourite of mine.

And, of course, he is son to the legendary Kate McGarrigle :)

I get migraines as well - flashing lights, nausea... I'm always upset that I don't get spiritual visions with mine like Abbess Hildegard von Bingen did :D

and physician says that is good try yoga,I think I going to start in yoga, not only because of headache, but because of my ansiety

  16. Wow, beautifull song <33

Had a massive headache yesterday, and I'm afraid I'll have a few more coming weekend. Blame the sun and the warmth, I can't take that (Pale skin, reddish hair..), when the weather is more sunny and warm my head tends to explode every once in a while..

    xx,

  17. Now this song sounds in my head! But really good song and interpretation. I like when you put videos or something here, because I´m so lazy to explore new music or artists (if I must find them myself :D)

Hope your head ache go away soon.
    It´s never nice thing :/

    Hugs! <3

*I just imagine you may love that t-shirt. There are some more if you scroll down..

I personally don't like Rufus interpretation of this beautiful song. It's like he suffers from head ache as well at min. 3:08 !!!!!!!!

    Do you like Susan Boyle?

  19. I hope your head gets better and that you will soon be back to your usual self. Maybe it's your body telling you to slow down seeing as your always so busy.

Over the Rainbow has to be one the most beautiful and iconic songs ever written, but nobody can match Judy Garland singing it imho although this is a great version.

love and respect (and a big hug)
